Nicolas Tangen is the head manager of Norwegian Oil Fond , which has a value right now of 17300 billion NOK , which is about 1700 billion dollar . I should know as I am Norwegian . If all that money was distributed equally to all Norwegians tomorrow it would make each of us 300 K USD wealthier. And if I got my share I would of course go all in on Tesla , as I am already . More importantly , in the perspective of an investor of Tesla stock , I think this interview simply shows that Tesla , maybe from its FSD development lately , has reached an inflection point in terms of interest from the mega investors. Which is BULL big time , IMO.

I'm so glad this is on KZread. There was a lot of interference on X. I love listening to him explain things. It's in terms I mostly understand. The more often I hear the material discussed the better I comprehend it.
Can you imagine being one of the classic (pre-1965) Science Fiction writers from the 20th Century and hearing these goals for the next 2 decades in space? Unfortunately, most of them already have passed away. Having grown up reading Asimov, Heinlein, Bradbury, Clark, PKD, Vance, Simak, etc., these goals for Mars and beyond are exciting to me beyond measure. I'm going to see people on Mars before I turn 70 in all likelihood. My grandkids will likely have the option to emigrate there. If I should somehow live to my late 80s and the option presents itself, I'd take the trip and finish my final years on Mars. Unlikely, but it would be very cool.
@stupidas9466

@biovmr
Ай бұрын
@@stupidas9466 Asimov would probably be excited at the goals and the recent/present activities of SpaceX, but would have been unimpressed with pretty much the majority of manned exploration since just before his death, I suspect. He wouldn't be much impressed by the last 32 years and 2 days of manned space-travel since his death. He thought the shuttle was a tech leap forward but didn't account for govt slow-rolling it (and of course would have been aghast at the US not replacing it for over a decade.) Although Asimov spent a lot of ink (and talking) promoting various space causes, neither he, nor anyone else really, moved the needle, which is what Elon's been doing, more or less by his own force of will, deftly using more advanced tech and govt/commercial funding to carry out his vision more quickly than any country would. Arthur C. Clarke, who wrote the screenplay/book for 2001, was happy to predict futures, but also thought it was a fool's errand, knowing how poor most predictions fare over multi-decades/centuries. Living until '08, he observed two of the slowest decades of development/stagnation for manned space activity, so he would probably be pleasantly (mildly) surprised things are now going the other direction. Assuming Carl Sagan and the two other writers were all still living, they might each see the logic in using robots (humanoid and other) to do much of the heavy lifting for off-world colonization, prior to sending larger numbers of humans. Alas, none of them are with us today.

Elon Musk, like Michael Jackson, is one of those people who are so genuine and pure, with love not hate in their hearts who in the end or at any point in their journey, will attract the ire of people who cannot be like them thus project their dark sides towards them make things up against their character, accuse them of nonsense (guilty until proven innocent) and in the end, they are forced to come to the truth that yes, these people are genuinely pure and with love in their hearts not hate. People will throw all manner of mud until it sticks, except that it won’t.

Might Tesla devise special Megapacks specifically to address another limitation the AI industry will face before hitting the energy wall, a critical shortage of voltage step-down transformers? The standard Megapacks are designed to feed into the high-voltage power grid since the higher the voltage, the less resistance energy loss over long transmission lines. However, if Megapack batteries and a giant solar panel installation are clustered around a data center, the voltage shouldn’t need to be nearly as high, resulting in less of a step-down need.
