I mean, if it is real, technically they got away with it for a while. It takes several years for a body to decompose. However, it’s hard to believe that no one noticed a decomposing body around a theme park for years (then again I don’t know the layout of the place or how many people go to that area daily so it may be feasible) but my best guess would be that they probably already had the body for a long time and just snuck it into the park now to freak people out since Halloween is coming and they want to either cause panic or they want to be caught. There is no way someone wants to “hide a body” in such a public area, they wanted to be caught.

My comment clearly stated “if this is real,” which means that I acknowledge the fact that there is a possibility of this being fake news. The rest of my comment was just theories based on the facts that we know right now. Also, I understand that many western companies do this quite often to garter attention from the populace, but the one thing that makes this situation different is that it occurred in Japan. They are much more strict about these sort of situations over there and it is much less likely for a company to make something up like this because it would create more public backlash than anything

I think another reason why Asian people have a harder time with talking out their feelings is generally there is this view that you’re burdening that person with your problems. You keep your burdens to yourself and you deal with them yourself and rarely do you actually ask for help with those burdens. Even as I was younger I’ve always felt like I shouldn’t burden my parents with my problems because they’re probably going through stuff themselves and because of that I hold in my discontentment for too long and then I blow up.

After conducting a judicial autopsy on a human bone found in a plant near Universal Studios Japan, police believe that the bones are of a man, 5 feet in height, and in his 60s or 70s. Police estimate that the unidentified man died about two years ago. Alongside the remains were a pair of black long pants, a men’s belt, and a pair of socks.

i wonder if this was more like a symbolic thing, like how people try to deposit ashes around theme parks for their dead beloved who liked the park. Maybe someone's family died and they left the bones there as a sign of remembrance. Its still not a good thing, but it doesn't necessarily mean it was an act of evil.

@@skpokerface1 there have been cases where loved ones kept their deceased's bodies instead of turning them in or burying them properly. This could be something like this. If they weren't apparently totally skeletal I would even think maybe they got sick two years ago when everything was really bad and died at home and was never reported dead. Grief can make people a little crazy. I could see a situation where a loved one got sick and died and the family tried to keep the body, possibly also due to paranoia about going out and getting sick. Heck I could also posit another stretch of an idea; what if the person died and the family blamed the shutdowns for a lack of safety surrounding the funeral process. Now that things are opening they want to try and scare people away from coming to their country and making it worse again, so they disposed of some of the remains to create fear and panic that might keep foreigners from coming. Just a random spitball concept.

About the mental health situation in Japan, I can confidently say it's basically the same or worse across all of Asia. I myself grew up in China, and anytime you tell anyone about your worries, all you'll get is "I've had worse", "you're whining too much", or "you're bothering me". Basically, if you're struggling mentally, either you're too delicate, you're overexaggerating stuffs, or you're crazy and you'll be bullied for that. Many people in Asia, including me, hide all our worries because no one cares enough to listen anyway, and before you could realize, those negative emotions overwhelm you, and tragedies happen. Also, I've learnt in school that news about suicide are often overlooked or even not reported at all, because authorities are afraid some people will read the news and take their lives in the same way, which I guess makes sense, but also that doesn't justify why these news need to be covered up.

I'm fully convinced that one of the main reasons why Japan's crime rate is so low and because Japan has a very strong bystander mentality, combined with its shaming and silencing of victims. The normalization of the JK industry, along with the women-only train cars is proof of this. Japan would rather coddle criminals, than hold them accountable. Mental health is only a part of the problem.

Anyone curious as of Nov 3, they've figured out it's the skelton of a man, aged between 60 & 79 and about 158cm/5.1ft. They believe he died about 2yrs ago and there's no damage in the bones that would lead them to what the COD was for him. They also found some pants and a belt, according to some articles. I think the consensus is that they found a full skeleton which has me wondering if he was a recently acquired educational piece that was going to be articulated (in really trying to look for a positive answer to why this happened) and the person is just too embarrassed to come forward about losing it in transit. Just feels like a possibility, however remote, that they were cleaning it or something and it toppled out.

Therapy here is over $200 a month and we live in a small place where full time doesn't exist anymore after COVID. So there is no health care for people around my area. My ex friend was very introverted, they eventually confided how they "accidentally" killed several of their pets over the years. Including drowning their dog in a water bowl. They didn't cry over it at all and it was such a result flag to stop being friends. We discussed therapy plenty of times but the one day they went to their appointment, they left before the appointment time hit. Saying they were too nervous and would rather continue to see what happens. That's exceptionally dangerous because they said they could see themselves becoming one of the serial killers in the documentaries. Some people know they need help and refuse to get it, even if people around them are willing to help them get it.

Similar to the human remains found behind coolers in an abandoned grocery store. The body decomposed back there for TEN years. Before shutting down, shoppers often complained of strange odors. After the remains were finally discovered while removing the coolers, investigators pieced together what happened. An employee, Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, who went to the store on his day off fell behind the coolers and became wedged/trapped in an 18-inch gap. The coolers were so loud, no one would have heard him (though I imagine he probably couldn’t breathe or scream being squeezed like that). 😢 He was reported missing, and his workplace was aware of it, but no one knew he came into work that day, so I guess they never bothered to search the place. His parents said he ran out of the house in anger after a fight the day he went missing. He was probably just trying to escape from his family for a while. So disturbing that people were shopping at that store for nearly a decade while his body decomposed behind the coolers. I can’t believe the smell was never properly investigated. Edit: Meant to include many employees would climb up onto the coolers like Larry did to take an “unofficial break” or be alone as he was trying to do.

My thoughts on it are if it's not a prank, someone buried it there because NO ONE WOULD THINK OF THAT. Plus they couldn't bury them too deep so after strong rains, earthquakes made the soil move away, and thus, the bones came to the surface.

That's reminds me of situation were around hospital that I work (relatively small hospital about ~2/300 workers) was found dead body of homeless person that "disappeared" from the Emergency Department 2 weeks before body was found. Cause of death? most likely poisoning because body was surrounded by bottles of disinfectants that we normally use to clean stuff.

A part of me is quietly hoping there was no foul play, but there really is no good outcome from this. A family lost a loved one, people lost a friend. They likely have been searching for years or have lost hope, broken hearted. It's just really sad that it happens too often these days

yeah I agree, I doubt the victim was killed there. it probably decomposed somewhere else, then once it became unrecognizable, they dumped it there. please stay safe, aki!

I mean, human remains have been found at theme parks before, but usually from older or accidental inclusions. See the case of Elmer McCurdy. This case however, looks very deliberate.
