Dang. So your gas service is not operational? No heat/cooking? What a vexing cascade of unanticipated events. I can identify. A bathroom remodel in our previous house, 96 years old, and I had the new tub, sink, and toilet ready to go. Pulled out the old tub, ahh, floor rot. pulled up the old hardwood floor and saw a section of the old cast iron drain line held in place by baling wire. Figured I'd fix that so I cut the wire and about 200 lbs. of iron fell into the crawlspace in a cloud of dust. Just like your saga, it just kept getting better. I'll speculate you have already Vented your frustration because you sound very composed in the face of it all.
