Some people are cheap, even though they want expensive stuff. If you can afford the vehicle, you can afford to fix it right. Buy an old car from the 80s if you wanna be cheap. Plenty of cheap parts for those and you can use shade tree hacks to get them running if you want. But people wanna be "seen", so they buy a fancy, new (newer) vehicle. While most of these quick fixes are harmless, some can be dangerous if they're not fixed properly. Like putting in piece of wire instead of a fuse, then the circuit overloads and burns your car up, possibly with you in it. But yeah....doesn't surprise me. Thanks for sharing Jay!! Hope everything is well!

agree i expect to see that on a 20-year-old truck with unknown number of owners, not something with less than 10 years.

I've seen that plastic Plumbing too many cars. I don't miss working on plastic Mercedes, plastic cars with plastic stars but the plastic T valve on the back firewall for the coolant pipe Junction was just playing stupid. Thing verse with no warning customers are losing engines. That's a great place to put that brass T valve on S-Class Mercedes. I won't own a new car my 1978 Coupe DeVille the Elegance is absolutely wonderful. Damn Tesla was staring at me cruising down the interstate and I said yeah I pulled it on up to about 90 knowing he wasn't going to follow because he's sitting there watching his range drop the faster he goes. You just can't beat the quality of 76 to 79 in a Cadillac with a 7 L cast iron engine.

Honestly, that brass piece was probably making the truck more reliable than the plastic crap it replaced. If for some ungodly reason I bought a dodge like that and was relying on it to get me places, I'd probably leave the metal part in there and ignore the check engine light.

That truck mustve been owned by someone way over their head in terms of money when they bought it so they fixed it as cheap as possible. Cant believe such a new truck had so much mickey mouse bs going on. Man if that little rcsb had a hemi in it that thing would rip

These are handsome rigs but They are extremely extremely unreliable and probably one of the most dispossible trucks on the market and that's saying a lot considering how manew silveradi've come across lately with some very very unhappy owners.

The 3.6s are ok, the 5.7s are fine I’ve owned 2 one had 239k when I traded all it ever needed was a battery, my current one has 151k and hasn’t needed anything, my parents have one that’s been fine and I know 4 other people who have them and have had excellent service, matter of fact I just did a brake job on one of them with 200k and still Had the original factory rear brake rotors. For every ram that’s failed I know of at least 10 failed chevys and 7 fords

I'll hazard the guess, that they cracked the part when changing the tensioner and belt, and the coolant was squirting,so they put the 'T' in and used the green coolant as that's all the shop had handy.?. Shilly sit...Like nobody would notice the Light in the dash? (shhhh)
