...the mikuni carb has 5 bolts, 4 around the twin barrels, easy to identify, the 5th somewhere, the manual doesn't say nor shows whereabouts ... where is it, anybody knows or has a picture ? G54B engine 2.6L AT Mikuni 32-35DIDTA carb

been looking at replacing the Mikuni with a Weber ... my state tho does not approve them ...because ... they have not been approved ... even if the Weber has better emissions & mileage ... how to go about this to approve the Weber ?

...my timing chain has a bit of slack, about 1/2" or so, on the driver's side ... passenger side is tight, the side where the tensioner is installed ...the chain, sprockets, all look good & shinny, no sign of damage as far as the eye can see ... should this be a concern ? G54B engine, 2.6L auto, gas ..

Chain stretch can happen over time. if there is that much slack it's time for a new chain my friend.

I’ve been contemplating doing this. Just picked up an old 86 b2000, runs a little rough and idles high. Still trying to figure out how to adjust it :p

Oh that's sweet! I think it's definitely worth the seafoam treatment. There's great info on carb adjustment and tuning online. I'll make a video on it soon.

...is the smoke from actually carbon buildup, or is it the seafoam burning ? ... ie, does the engine smoke eventually dies off & then starts burning clean ?

  • @officialworstmechanic

It's from the carbon being burnt up from the seafoam cleaning!! It eventually stops smoking then runs clean!!
