Your idea of "really corroded" and my idea of really corroded is off by a few large holes. That Ranger is SO clean...✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦

Kinda impossible, moving cameras around and periodically importing clips to my MacBook is more than half of my time at the shop making these videos. I’m doing two jobs at once but you only see the mechanical stuff.

I have a 200 Dakota I would like to restore, not as nice as your Ranger, if there is a way to get an idea of expense would be very helpful.
It is so cool how enthusiastic you are about restoring your Grams truck. This is great content.
I still can't get over how weird it is that the Ranger's body is so rust-free while the frame is a corroded mess. Bizarre!!!
That is going to be the cleanest ford ranger in the whole of the USA
You...Sarah... extra thorough? NOOOOO I would NEVER think that. Awesome job! Your Grams is smiling down on you and showing you off to all her new friends :)
Great work Sarah, Grandma is very proud 👏 💙
I love watching you work . You are entertaining , funny , and smart . And as I am a professional mechanic myself (Albertan Red Seal licensed Journeyman) , I can truly appreciate the effort it takes to do the work you are doing . Always look forward to your videos .

Never thought watching an engine being removed could be so entertaining 😬 great vid Sarah, cheers 🥂
Hey Sarah if I remember right on my 98 explorer with a 4.0 the fan clutch nut had reversed threads so instead of righty tighty it was righty loosen 👍😁❤️

Can confirm. Righty loosey, lefty tighty. Did it not long ago on my Ranger

Yep, was thinking the same thing. It's a left-handed fastener. You were trying to tighten it. . . .

You are correct, it is a reverse thread 36mm, same engine on my 97 Aerostar.
I love watching you clean everything so meticulously, so the engine and engine bay videos are going to be a real treat!
I hope you always keep your grandmothers truck…🥰👍
The bar hanging from the engine hoist is suppose to be in line with the engine, turning the crank handle positioned at the front allows you to tilt the engine for easier removal. You might want to pull the heads and get'em checked, they have a history of cracking between the valves.

Lots of work done and still to be done. Looking forward to the next one.Your grandmother would be proud. Have a great weekend Sarah.😀👍🇨🇦
Hi Sarah, I love how much care and attention to detail you are putting into this truck. It makes me wish I could have something special like this to do myself like my dads old Skylark or my moms old Beetle. Keep up the great work!
Probably Hear it 500K Times a Day! Finest Tech EVER!!!!
I absolutely love your channel! So tenacious, thorough and talented. I hope we get to see a picture of your Gram!
I love how entertaining and educational you are. You're always fun to watch
Great work once again. I’m sure your grandma must have been so pleased to be able to leave her beloved truck to you. It couldn’t be in better hands.
I so appreciate it when you say why you are doing stuff. It is educational for me.
I love rewatching your videos to see where you pull the intro from! They are all so amazing Also, I hear you say "up!" anytime I hear a lift go
Awesome work! Love the video, back in 87' was my first new truck a Ford Ranger. Can't wait to see the finished job.👍
So awesome! If only new cars were made so simply.
Fantastic video!!! Never seen someone so enthusiastic about restoring their gramps truck !!!
I so appreciate your mechanics mentality - that of course anything can come apart and be put back together. No hesitation. I have gained a lot from this perspective and taken on some pretty daunting projects of my own that I would have shied away from in the past.

``Hi Sarah. You have given me the motivation to work on my dad’s 1999 Grand Marquis. It is 6 degrees here in Eastern Massachusetts working on the Transmission on ramps inside my small garage on the cement floor. Love It!!! Thanks again!
I wish ford would’ve kept this small like design for the ranger, but packed more luxury into it. The size is perfect for commuting.

Now you would have to opt for the new maverick, crew cab only though. Loved my 91 ford ranger 4.0. That truck was sweet.
Labeling the bolts, and putting them together with the parts.. Genius.!
Hello from France 🇫🇷. Thank you for my weekly dose of private jokes, nonsense and skilled mechanic.
when you were talking about pulling the engine it was obvious that you have tremendous admiration for your grandmother. thanks for another great video on the Ranger.
Really enjoying the channel I subscribe ages ago and its only me coming down with covid I have binged on the channel to get up to date. Awesome funny and great channel. Keep the excellent work up Sarah 👌👍💪❤

I’m new to Sarah n Tuned and have been watching old content, up to today’s July 23 stuff. Very enjoyable, informative. I feel the love for the truck, and understand why 😊.
Your grandmother is a sweetheart! Spend all the time you can with her! We wish we had once they pass.
Always look forward to your puns/jokes! Great progress !👨🏼✈️
Love this video, Sarah! I'm a Ranger fan for dead sure! I have a 2000 I bought new and it's still running after 340,000 miles. Looking forward to seeing any hints and pro tips from here that I can apply to mine to fix it up, especially in the area of chassis work and some of the body work.
that was the nice thing about the 4.0, 2.9, and the 2.8 V6's. they were easy to work on, you had plenty of room to get to everything. I helped a buddy out with his ranger and swapped in a 302. it was an simple bolt up.
The Ranger is my favorite project to date! I wish I still had my dad's 84.

88 is also the old style body. 89 they changed the look of the front end. I need to do something like this to our 88 Ranger GT, has only about 60k on it.
Yup pulling the engine is pretty fun and it looks fantastic for never being removed.
I'm 70 years old but when I was a little boy in the 3 rd grade I was hom÷ from school and there was a lady that you favor alot putting points in a 40 Plymouth. I couldn't belive that a woman could do that .anyways you brought back old memories. Thanks
Sarah, another great video, keep them coming. From what I can see from the video, gram's radiator support looks structurally sound. Don't change it, clean the rust up and maybe shoot some of the green on it before you clear coat the engine bay. Buy some of the matching green, You are going to find other areas that will need touch up. Prep them and then shoot them all at once.
Awesome content...If only half of this world had your attitude and positivity keep up 👍
I think that you can fix any car out there. That’s just amazing to watch.
Great progress on the Grantruck! I'm exited to see what you bought for Mr.dos!
So glad to see the Ranger content. Gram is gonna be very proud of you.
My favourite project. It must be a joy to work on something with such personal memories.
love the fact that you save random nuts and bolts. I do the same, along with some brackets that people would usually throw away. you never know when crap like that will come in handy (which it will eventually) . My son thinks I'm a bit of a hordder
Love watching this restotation, but MR2-cintent is always welcome too!
I’m watching this video purely for the future of mine which is going to get a 5.0 302 out of an explorer of the same year next year after high school. Even though I’ve never done something like this, this has made it seem like its going to be pretty stress free. Thank you for making this video!
I love you and the work you do. Your the bomb Sarah.
Great project! I have a '94 Exploder Limited I'm in the process of redoing. Pay extra attention to the valve train/rockers. That seems to be a Colonge's weakness.
What a great thing to see. I'm getting ready in the next year to do a body off frame restoration on my late mother's 2000 Explorer so I can relate to this a great deal. Subbed.
This Ranger restore is perfect timing for me!! My 05 Ranger 4.0 just seized due to unknown factors. I am about to do my first engine swap ever!!! I am nervous but your vids and my shop manuals have me fairly confident that I wont mess it up. Now to rent a shop or garage!
I'm impressed with your working attitude. You get in there and get dirty, and you're gorgeous to boot!
love your sense of humour and how smart and pretty you are. because of your video on the 2022 Nissan Frontier, I went and bought one. Best truck purchase I have ever done. keep up the amazing and awesome vids.
Thank you Sarah! I was searching for that Capybara video!
This young lady is the shit. Informative, great descriptions and mechanical hours
I have a 1994 Ford Ranger just like yours except it’s red and I have larger aftermarket rims. Yours is in better condition than mine. But mines not too bad. You are doing what I wish I could do with mine. That’s why I love watching this in particular.
I'm trying to go in the way-back machine with my '93 Ranger, but I think that fan clutch nut might be reverse thread.

My Grandmother was a car enthusiast also her last two cars were a 66 Chevy Super Sport then a 71 Eleanor Mustang, the Chevy Super Sport had the clear plastic seat covers.
Best engine pulling video I've seen! I need a mechanic like you in my shop!
Really enjoying your grams Ranger content. I think I'm going to miss it a little when it's done.
You are bound to have a few pangs with this truck. You obviously loved your grand.
Wow it's time to move the motor to new home awesome video Sarah.
Back in the 90s Mazda used the Ford explorer in their lineup, it was called the Navajo. It came with a 4 L V6. I was pulling those engines out so often for oil leak repairs that I could start pulling it at 8:00 in the morning, reseal the engine top to bottom and have it back in and running before I went to lunch. Considering the job paid 16 hours under warranty, it was a very profitable job. If you were really lucky, you could get a transmission overhaul, a transfer case update, radius arm bushings and new front 4x4 hubs for a grand total of over 30 hours, all under warranty. They were my real money makers.
Wish your video's were longer because you do such a great job with the subject content; they're educational & entertaining!
Gram would be proud! The truck is looking great, one step at a time.
I'm studying this alot cause I'm about to swap a 4.0L OHV from a 91 Ranger into my 89 Bronco II. Thanks for the detailed video
Great job foxy lady!! Great video! Thank you!!!
Not bad at all, that truck will be clean and running soon you're awesome 😊
My father owned a garage for over 60 years and we pulled a lot of motors. We always removed the fans first, but then we also had to be able to slide the engine forward off of the transmission. It helps a lot if you adjust the chains so the engine hangs level, then you can pull it straight up. Unlike the current trend of pulling engine and transmission as a unit, which requires you to remove radiator and core support, we always just pulled engine and left the radiator and transmission in the vehicle. We had a hoist hanging from a crane rail in the ceiling too.
Loved the content. Watching such a fun individual ☺
You are AWESOME, can’t wait to see the rest... Thank you
I like how high it sits. Awesome job.
Yup, there it is!
If you don't wanna lift it, just put a leveling kit on it. It'll look Sweet !!!!!
You had that look in your eyes; seeing the Ranger look lifted!🤩...... No one would judge you.....I would praise you.....DO IT! DO IT! 😆🤣
Your videos always make me smile. Any woman who loves to get her hands dirty to work on a car is alright!
At the risk of seemly like I watch these for the wrong reason. You have never looked better in any video I have seen. And yes I watch because I admire your attention to detail
I have the same truck. A 1993 4.0. I'm gonna remove the drivers side much rotted out valve cover soon... I finally located one on eBay for $60, I needed to sand, prime and paint it.... Oddly, I just replaced my clutch fan and radiator, the nut came off rather easily. I used a huge channel locks to take that nut off. Further, The valve cover replacement should be way easy, compared to what you just did. LOL. Great Video. Awesome job. I subbed you.
I’m not totally sure the issue you were having with the engine hoist. But I’ve pulled and installed a 454 engine, th400 transmission, and NP203 transfer case all at once the harbor freight cherry-picker. It earned my respect. Hope this helps to rethink the “need” for a different one. Another video hard worker 👍🏻
Just love your videos, very professional.
Luv ur mr2. That is why I started veiwing you.
Awsome. Great work Sarah. Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Great video Very organized I like it
Being young and thin is essential for being attractive, but it appears to be quite advantageous for a car mechanic. The way you wiggle around and under the car and get your arm into areas that most arms would not fit, is truly incredible! Im guessing that most mechanics could benefit from yoga.
Our grandkids have been an essential part of our life…Caleb 8, Asher 4. We even moved to Florida when they moved here this past September. I hope they remember me like you remember your grandmother. Then again, my grandson said to me today, I will never forget you Papa. ❤️melt. OK done be the old geezer to you all.
Yes! MR2 stuff!!!! The car that brought me to this channel 😁
Very cool video, acorns get everywhere, especially thanks to squirrels and chipmunks. Awesome job, girl!
Nice Love 4 Liters, You Do Great work
Try using the engine leveller in the North / South orientation (instead of East / West), then you can adjust the balance point and work the engine out through the available space... then you can attach the chains to both the front and back of the engine...
I'm sure you get this alot but. I'm in love. I cant stop watching your videos. You do great work.
Well done Sarah 👏 great job 👍
My one and only engine pull (so far) is a 03 Audi Allroad 2.7 tt, wish it was my gramps ranger you have so much room!
