I am definitely thinking of getting this. I just have an issue that I can't properly fit the speakers to the sides of my monitor as one of them would end up being more or less behind one of my two screens. I wonder if anyone can suggest a good pair of stands that would allow me to lift them above the 27" monitors and allow me to tilt them downwards as well. Wall mounting is not possible.

I have the older versions (HS80m) that I bought over 10 years ago. For the first 2 years I had no room treatment and I thought “ either I blow or these monitors suck” Then I invested in proper room acoustic treatment. Let’s just say I’m still mixing and making great music with these monitors. These are amazing monitors for the price and can’t be beat.

  • @indyawichofficial1346

Great review, where I see things little different is in the definition that monitor's room correction provides optimum sound in any room. Unfortunately things do not work that way, since it is acoustics, which primarily affect what the listener actually listens to, while compensation just helps to lower the effect of bad acoustics, it definitely does not sort it out in sufficient manner - louder you go, more acoustics chime in, so wrong acoustic or none treatment - more mess when the monitors are cranked up. That combined with monitors placed on a desk without insulation, or wrong angle placement, either lateral or vertical (remember equilateral triangle between listener and monitors), placement too close to the walls, or short distance between monitors and listener can bring a lots of confusion about how the monitor performs under optimum conditions, so my recommendation is acoustic treatment first, then good placement, and if possible - no compensation for the room involved. If that needs to be employed - the room treatment is not optimal. Would not say the HS8 work only in medium/bigger room exclusively, yet room 2x2 won't be sufficient for 8 inch bass. So if one decides to buy these fantastic monitors, it is always good to know what it takes to get the most out of them. Definitely one if not the best monitors for the price (and even double the price, in my opinion)..

The funny thing is, that across all of the direct contenders to HS 8 such as JBL308, Adam T8V, Kali Audio 8LP2, and Presonus Eris 8 XT I still have not found any competitor in terms of how perfectly they reveal in detail, providing identification/separation/instr. placement/depth. Same goes to perfect picture, when working with effects - as one clearly hears compression affecting transients, detailed reverb tails, every subtle equalisation etc. i.e. those critical moves within the craft, where to "find out" what is going on in the mix, is crucial. Their flat response, low distortion as well as the general balance, combined altogether into unbeatable package, may I dare to say, irrespective of the price, not "for the price". These cans obviously let one to make a job done. Not neccessarily the case of every fancier stuff out there for double the price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't if someone can help but I wonder wish is the best between the Yamaha hs8 space grey and the Hs7i. Look like apart the number of watts the only difference is on the frequency. That where my knowledge stop. The HS go 38 to 30khz and the HS7I go 55 to 23khz. I don't know what is better and this is the only point who make me hesitate.

  • @malakisands8180

What you are looking at is production of sound frequencies. HZ is mid to lows 55 for HS7 and 38 for HS8 you get more bottom end without a subwoofer. The kHz is your higher frequency like female singer, flute, higher pitch piano notes. 38 kHz for the HS8 also makes it a more rounded speaker and Yamaha for the money spent is worth it. How are those HS monitors so expensive where you live? I just got a pair of HS5 with stands from Thomann for 350 dollars (I live in EU, so shipping was under 10 bucks). The pair of HS7's would've cost me 400 bucks, and HS8's 550 bucks.

They're a monitor that really shines when you treat the crap out of your room. Just, like, loads of sound dampening panels on the walls. Or put them in a large room, because they have the output power and imaging to fill most rooms without noticeable distortion. Those things can get deafeningly loud.

No they are a low-fi speaker, and have a resonant box build. You are not going to get a high quality sound out of them. You need a serious monitor for a studio, and as a minimum quality you should be looking at the likes of an ATC SCM20ASL, as a starting benchmark sound.

these are not good .sorry . also the inside are cheap . realy bad capacitors that will break fast.. you need the yamaha msp serie.s like msp 7 or msp10 . these are flat. and the capacitors are high end. another altenative are mackie hr824 . these are also high end built and the capacitors. I have these monitors 20 years and will not break.

Dont waste your money on the Yamaha hs series! The Krk Classic series sounds better than the Yamaha Hs series and the price is significantly lower. Compare the Krk classic 5 & the Yamaha hs5 and you will see Yamaha is drastically overrated 🤦‍♂️The comparison was so bad I put the Yamaha hs5 back in the box and currently have them for sale on Facebook marketplace. This comment will probably get deleted, but dont waste your money. Low end is trash🤮😵🥵😬🤦‍♂️🥶

@@darrenhirst9900 Its apparent you haven't heard the comparison, but if you do check back with me. Also think about how much music has changed, and Yamaha has not changed how they make the speakers, same design same wattage same materials for over 10 yrs. It's just the name the product is trash. Go look on your local fb marketplace and you will find tons of these speakers available practically brand new in the box😂😂😂
