That's only because the REAL DLC characters haven't dropped yet haha Ryu always starts off strong. Gotta give him a lil shine before they destroy the hopew and dreans of his mains😅 He'll be back to low/mid tier in no time.

Understanding the basics, will give you the knowledge to master the advanced. Mastering the advanced will let you do the impossible. Doing the impossible...might get you close to understanding my full abilities.

@908Mook Even if Capcom slapped Luke's weird selfie on the box, Ryu is still the mascot. He's the character most people know, he's still the beginner-friendly all arounder, he's the "Street Fighter guy."

They definitely gave the characters more than they’ve ever had before in this game. It’s awesome to see and such a stark contrast from what SFV was like when it first launched. The characters were so limited in the first version of the game, granted they did change that over time but still

Let the diehard weebs scoff all they want, I think SF6's english VA for Ryu knocked it out of the park. He's super quotable in this game. Especially the heartfelt "Well, fuck!" when he loses. ;)

SF6 is the first game that made me want to switch from Ken to Ryu. During the beta I ended up playing Ryu and it’s just great.

Same. I never played Ken before, but I also never had any interest in Ryu and I had a BLAST using him in the betas and I'm 80% sure he's going to be either my main or at least my secondary.

The fact that the character who is supposed to be the personification of fundamentals and basicness has so much god damn cool shit signals that the characters in this game are gonna be super well fleshed out.

I disagree with that sentiment. The last two seasons of sfv were excellent. Plenty of depth on both the offensive and defensive end of things.

There was v-shift then so offense was more oppressive and there were already deep characters like G but that wasn't the case for a couple of the characters. Maybe it was the departure of Ono from the company to get some fresher minds I'm charge but outside of season 3 Abigail and outside times where characters like Menat, Cammy, Urien and Akuma were busted SFV has been very good.

The combos Max did in the beginning were sick. I played the demo yesterday and the gameplay feels great really excited for the game

Slowly lol. It's already there. The Denjin is the same thing that comes from the power of nothingness. Only difference is the fact thar Ryu is stronger but still with room to grow.

Those combos are hard asf . Hats off to max for mastering the drive rush

He's basically Gouken in his prime now, as far as power, he even favors his master now.

Street Fighter 6 will set the bar for fighting games on a very high level for at least the next decade.

Yes and Tekken 8 as well and probably the next Mortal Kombat. Still Virtua Fighter is the most difficult to master out of all these fighting games to be fair

I played the demo yesterday for the first time, and got damn it's fresh and tight AF. There's virtually no delay between button presses and actions onscreen, and the fighting feels a bit more loose than SF5. And it looks DAMN good on PS5! Soon as I get paid, I will submit to the Preorder Gods.

Capcom created a monster with Ryu. About damn time I say.

This is the first Street Fighter I actually feel decent at just coming off of practicing in the demo the past few days. I’m actually chaining some nice combos together, and that’s hugely in part to this video. I had no idea that we could get DR out on Frame 1, but boy oh boy did it change my world, lol. I’ve always been a somewhat casual SF player since the early days, but I feel this game is finally the one that’s clicking for me and taking me to a new level, and that’s incredibly exciting. I’m beyond hyped for the full release.

You're video on mario 64 is one of the best you have ever done. So good.

If you can do this with Ryu, people will be monsters with the others.

Depends. Think what they are going for is to "balance" everyone by making everyone viable with many tools. Each character will have their own approach, ofcourse, but fleshed out tools. I hope they manage this. If this is the case, nobody is "a monster", they are all monsters. Just comes down to which character suits which player and play style and how that player skill pushes said character. I hope this happens. For once we may get a SF where the tier list is completely dependent on which character players love and how good they are with them.

I’ve never seen SF with this level of shenanigans. I love it.

This demo will teach you many things about my playstyle, but you won't be able to truly prove yourself until the full game releases. I await the challenges ahead...

Ryu is so much fun in this game, I can't believe how Capcom managed no make his combos look cool and hype.

It's nice to see the PlayStation version doesn't have oddly high input delay.

This just reminds me of the days when we would gather around the TV/console and pull out the game mags that had all of the Alpha combos/counters and see who could reproduce as many of the combos on the page as we could and then try to pull them off in fights against each other. Ahh, those were the times~

This video reminds me when Max did the tutorial on DBFZ about how to double jump and continue basic combos in the air! About 5 years ago now!

I want to get into this game when it comes out, I'm not big into fighting games... but then I see this video and it's ungodly how Dood just registers combos by looking at them and is able to execute them instantly with perfect timing. It makes me feel like I'll never be this good

Thanks Max that tip about forward and mediums opens the game and I didn't even know after most neutral buttons if you just hit forward twice immediately it green cancels as well without actually holding or tapping mediums. Game's F#@&% awesome. I'm a casual (not modern control casual) but I've been in that lab for like 4hrs now it's crazy fun....can't wait to try out Marisa 🔥

Also for the actual unlock to training mode on any console is start the lvl 3 super guide on either character, after starting hit the sound accessibility button which is select on modern controls, it won't work on classic unless you change the input

FYI you can do a slighty more damaging version of this combo by using 4HP instead of 5MP. Full transcript: 5HP xx denjin 214P, (MP+MK)66, 4HP xx 66 5HP xx 236LP, (MP+MK)66, 2MK xx 236KK, 623HP xx 236236P. Might be able to fit 4HK xx 623HP after 236KK, but I forget if that works in this juggle. In terms of the input method for the raw DR, I personally use the (MP+MK)6,6. It is a lot easier than 6,6+MP+MK and the one extra frame of parry startup doesn't really matter in juggle combos usually.

I had no idea combos in SF6 are this wild. Wake me up when May ends!

Watching Max get into this mode is like watching someone speak in tongues lol. My brain will never grasp this stuff.

The combos are endless with the drive rush system, this feels like such a different take on the SF style of combat and I’m loving it although it is a bit overwhelming at first to try and wrap my head around the possibilities

Playing the demo alone made me realize, this game is it chief.

Aye my comment about getting bodied by the level 8 cpu made it into the edit. Even though I get my ass kicked 2/3 times playing vs the cpu is really helping me get used to the game. Can't wait for June 2nd and the other characters!
