That was a special treat for sure! About 12 years ago me and my two brothers booked a guided trip and the guide had access to the Kenai from Funny River Road. Not that far up though. It was awesome having the spot to ourselves. Well worth it, IMO. We had a rapid below us too. That adds another exciting twist. So much fun! Thank you for getting my heart pumping again!

had a ball last year on the Sockeye on the Kenai. My wife's trip to Italy cancelled this year's trip. Can't wait for next year. Those mules will line you out once they get into the current. Next year I'm using a cane pole rig instead of my spinning or fly rod set up.

Silver salmon run late into October around here and can be found in the Kenai, Kasilof, deep creek and more!... Swiftwater Park is a top spot for bank fishing Silvers and if you're lucky enough to get on a boat, then back bouncing salmon roe down the river can put you on a trophy... Casting spinners or bobber floating roe are top methods and can produce fish regularly. Early morning bite is best and you'll find most fisherman starting the day with a head lamp on to beat the sunrise. Good Luck!

@alaskasmallcraftadventures sounds like totally different fishery all together from sockeye fishery from the bank. Somehow I was able to hook few silvers on Kenai last week just doing regular flossing. Eggs, bombers, spinners, ‐ all sounds too complicated : ) 😆
