My grandpa passed back in November I can still remember his face as he was laying in his bed. We went to my grandmas house to say goodbye, he died 30 minutes after me and my mom left my grandmas house. I've only ever cried once at a funeral and that was my first one. I was so close to crying at my grandpas funeral tho. That funeral was my first time ever seeing my dad cry at anything, which is what almost made me lose it.

It has to be worse than death, Dementia. Not for the one losing their memories, but for the families having to watch their loved one forget every important memory they have before they go. Alzheimer's runs in my family and I'm bound to get it someday, like the males before me. I'm less worried about me, but seeing my grandfather and even my father repeat things they've told me 4 times in a day is just crushing. My heart goes out to anyone else dealing with this tragedy.

I lost my mom to ovarian cancer in 2016. In 2012, she had some pain in her stomach so I took her to the emergency room. 2 hours later, stage 4 ovarian cancer. My mom was a tough, biker chick woman. Watching her fight and suffer for 4 years until she went into a hospice bed 2 weeks before she passed, after looking me in the eyes and telling me she just didnt want to fight anymore, was indescribably tough. And this whole time taking care of my grandma going through dementia as well. Watching both my mom and gma fade. It makes you numb. My mom was only 52 when she succombed to cancer at 7am, Jan 2, 2012. When they took her body away I cried so hard I thought I was going to break my back. If you ever cried that deep cry you know what I mean. I cant lie and say you eventually get over it, but time does heal a little. If it wasn't for my faith in God I dont know how I would have taken it. This song hits hard. I dont know which was worse. Watching my mom shrivel away from cancer, or my gma fade away and not know who I am or where she is.

Gibby I'm a huge fan of your channel but I never knew about your mother. August 30th has been a year since my mom passed from bladder cancer and when you said if only they had checked the right place, it brought tears to my eyes. My mom was in and out of the hospital being treated for kidney disease for 4 months. They basically told me they couldn't find anything wrong so we might as well check for cancer. She only had maybe 2 months after that.... I know EXACTLY what you went through and it hasn't gotten any easier for me at least but your videos always put me in a positive mood no matter what. Not sure if you will even see this but keep bringing the love and the amazing content!
