Here's my problem with Cam, to your point he's not the best on-ball defender and has a tendency to take horrible shots. In my (admittedly) limited time watching him it also seems that his first instinct is to shoot (I.E. point about bad shots above^) when rather than taking a low percentage shot, he should look to pass first. All this said, I completely agree with your point about he should take time to develop with Brooklyn, the only problem... it doesn't seem like he wants to do that. Even just based on his interviews shown it seems like he believes he's THE guy and should be a starter from day 1. It's kinda like how incoming 5-star freshman QBs in college football EXPECT to be the starter. It's like dude, you're 22 take a year or 2 to develop. If that means spending time as a backup and not a full-time starter, that's okay

I think you're kind of ignorant to this entire situation. Last yr after the deadline where kyrie and kd were traded cam thomas balled out around that time and yet was benched for significantly worse on both ends role players in patty mills and joe harris. This season he has been in and out of the starting lineup even tho one of the nets biggest weaknesses is the lack of a main shot creator. The guy starting in front of him spencer dinwiddie is shooting below 38% from the field this yr and also terrible basketball IQ. This has been going on now for a while any rationale person would say this it's frustrating when a coach staff seems intent on playing guys ahead of you simply bc of age and salary.

i think the Nets now wants to focus on Mikal Brigdes more than Cam, Cam's weaknesses is one of the reasons why he's losing his minutes, i understand he has some improvement with his passing, but his defense is not that good if you compare it to Mikal Bridges. I think they will trade Cam away soon

I don’t agree with this viewpoint that being put in the 6th man role is somehow proof of anything. We put way too much value on starters when all it is about are rolls. If u don’t understand why it makes sense for cam to be a 6th man and finney smith to be a starter then idk what to say. For example, on the heat, Haywood Highsmith (who many non heat fans might not even know) starts over Jamie Jaquez. Is that some kind of proof that Haywood is better than Jamie? Not whatsoever. It’s about the role they play. Highsmith is an elite defender like finney smith and that’s why they start and players like cam are 6th man. Lineups are about having the right roles together and not about just throwing a bunch of 20 point scorers in the same lineup. Jamie comes off the bench but he plays much more minutes than highsmith. Highsmith is just better suited for the starting lineup, not because he’s better but, because he fits a role that’s needed in that lineup. Lineups are about getting the right roles together

In 21-22, Tyler herro was coming off the bench while Duncan Robinson and PJ Tucker were starting. Does that mean Duncan Robinson was better than Tyler herro in the eyes of Spoelstra that year? No. Herro was just more suited for a 6th man role. Players like herro and cam Thomas are suitable 6th men, not because they are worse than the players starting over them but, because of the roles that they play.

Cam is my favorite player on Brooklyn. With that said I’m also a realist he has ALOT of development to do. He needs to play within the offense he plays hero ball it’s me me me yea he gets a lot of grenades but probably because he’s gonna jack a shot regardless of how far into the shot clock they are. He has to learn to play within the construct of the offense and yes he can score when he’s on problem is he’s inconsistent and needs to find other ways to impact the game when his shot isn’t falling. His ego is a problem and it’s his biggest flaw if he can set that aside humble himself and really understand what he needs to emphasize to improve on he has limitless potential

I just wanna say that all of your points are completely valid, as an avid watcher of the Nets and Pacers, he’s my 4th favorite player behind Tyrese Haliburton, Mikal Bridges, & Paul George. But I believe he needs to be starting so he can develop. As this nets team is just not good rn, so if this front office was intelligent, they would be playing him, clowny, and Claxton much more.

I don't think Murphy is fully back from his injury. Yes, he's been back for two months. But we've seen injury recovery take almost a full season at times. By the time Murphy returned, the rotation has solidified. So he's trying to find his way. He's doing an okay job, but I wouldn't be surprised if his efficiency really explodes in March and April. Also, there's the matter of opportunity. Trey has had his best stretches when the team really needed his scoring. Last year, they had long stretches without Zion or Ingram.

Jaden’s offensive game not improving counting stats wise is a product of what his situation is, rather than his lack of skill. KAT came back this year after missing last, and Jadens literally the 5th option on offense. Given the opportunity, I think he can get much higher counting stats at least.

The NBA is FULL of nothing but overrated players. They do it to most of them. There MIGHT be a handful of players that truly meet the level of their hype, but the other 98 percent are overrated and it is obvious.

You gotta get the best agent you can get. Sometimes its not what you know but who know.

I think with Jalen Green, it's about undoing bad habits and you can see Ime slowly undoing those habits. He's holding Jalen accountable, making him responsible to defend and he's not tolerating the bs plays where Jalen goes tunnel vision and chucks up bad shots. He's benching him more and coaching him up. I think he'll start to head in the right direction.

It's all about how Jalen responds to getting that right coaching like getting benched after having a cold streak. If he's someone who starts complaining about it like Cam, it won't do any good but if he's mature enough to understand why he's not getting the minutes that he wants, it should develop him into a better player. It's all about the attitude.

Once Cam realize being a good scorer can make you a good passer and being a good passer can make you a better scorer he’ll become more of a threat on offense. His defense not good though.

realistically he will never be a solid defender. But he can still be a great starter, and possibly all star. Because he has shown he has the tenacity to drop 48 burgers. At minimum he should be a solid 6th man. Things he should be doing : 1. Score with less moves. 2. Find more open looks, and easier looks in the paint where he can get there at will and will score. Lots of great players can do this. 3. play off teammates moves/ team sets. 4. be a playmaker. Even the 6th man score type player like Jamal crawford, lou williams, jordan clarkson, malik monk, all can operate as a playmaker, run the point, run the pick and roll really well.

As a Rockets fan, as much as I like Jalen Green, I think it'd be the best if we just traded him. We don't really need him and his trade value is still really good. Cam Whitmore is already looking like a more promising player to me and I can't see both JG and Cam getting enough minutes to develop properly. We should trade Green for a good 3&D player. The Rockets already have many good offensive players and I just can't see all of them getting enough opportunities. What I personally would like to see is Vanvleet AND Green getting traded for a superstar point guard like Fox, but that is VERY unlikely to happen. I can just keep on dreaming. (EDIT) I know that Fox isn't a good 3pt shooter but I meant that if we ONLY traded Green, we should go for a 3&D guy, I just kinda threw that last trade out there because that's what I would personally like to see but it's not happening.

Yeah “shen-goon” is more correct but not %100. “Goon” is actually different than “gün”. The “ü” is pronounced like the “u” in the word “fuse”

How long was this video in the works because cam thomas has been given point guard duties 11 out of the last 12 games he’s played and the offense has looked better and better the more comfortable he got and the longer the minutes at the point were extended. Just to the point. They don't develop these players anymore. They stick them right into the fire, because they had a good draft. He's no different that any other rookie, and his best won't be seen until his 3rd or 4th year. They don't teach, or the player doesn't want to learn the fundamental mechanics if moving without the ball, and defense. If they practice on their craft they can get better, only time will tell.

When other teams’s players are asked about what are the biggest challenges when facing the Nets, they often bring up Cam. I think that says a lot. He is as good as Kyrie at both defense and offense. The Nets need to keep him happy and build around him.

CT24 is clearly the best offensive payer on the team, but unfortunately a team that is desperately in need of scoring is stuck on politics . D Booker, Dame Lil, and Darrius Garland are similar players but yet the are not shone by their respective coaches. So frustrating to see a potential star being treated like this. I hope the Nets either get a coach that will let him play with no fear of his job or CT24 goes to team that appreciate what he brings to the game. When someone can score like he has been, and not be the primary focus that tells me every other part of his game is severely lacking. And his scoring doesn’t counteract everything he gives up. And he seems to think all he has to do is shoot.

Funny thing is, coaches nowadays value defense whenever there is exactly no defense being played every game. They abhor shotmakers who cannot defend but that is who the current superstars are. Luka, Trae, Donovan, Jokic, Embiid is bad defensively compared to every good big superstars in the past, Tatum etc. Even Giannis is a shit defender.

If he does go to the Knicks, then he can’t afford to become inconsistent on offense and better learn defense quickly, otherwise he’ll suffer the same fate like what happened to Evan Fournier and Kemba walker when they were playing with the Knicks

Cam just isn’t that good of a player. All he wants to do is play a ton of minutes and play iso-ball, which just isn’t what teams want to do anymore, and he isn’t even good enough to justify running an entire offense around. I would honestly just play more of an egalitarian offense, with a lot of passing and shooting. Maybe trade for an actual point guard like Tyus Jones or Malcom Brogdon.
