The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

Why do so many people just gloss over the real reason Kobe had a bad series in 2000? People always say he was terrible. He wasn't. He was injured. But people always gloss over that fact. The fact that he even had 1 great game in that series is amazing. He was hobbled throughout the rest of the series.

Your list is very good. You do give Bill Walton an honorable mention for his game 6 performance in the 1977 NBA finals but I believe that that performance belongs nearer the top of the list with his 20 points, 23 rebounds, 8 blocked shots and 7 assists. For one, Walton had to contend with defending one of the most physically gifted teams in NBA history in the 76ers with Dr. J., George McGinnis, Doug Collins, Loyd “World B.” Free and Darryl Dawkins, to name just a few, and the clutch game clinching 109-107 win kept the 76ers from going back home to host game 7.

When you can’t hit midrange jumpers you’re more likely to have the team pack the paint and make it harder to drive, go under the screener on pick and rolls and cut off your lane to the basket. You’re also harder to double when you can hit mid rangers. You’re able to preserve more energy. You’re shots less likely to be affected by big men. Need more? I barely remember either game but I remember the excitement i had going to see MJ. Saw Pippen an Rodman as well but I'm not sure Dennis was at the regular season game. For some reason that game isn't on KZread? Was really cool to see the GOAT in the building, at the time i didn't know he was the GOAT. I knew he was the best of the time but i think the second threepeat was what made him GOAT. When MJ was in town it was an event!!! I still miss him. I still miss the Sonics as well. How did they allow the Sonics to move over a building? We had a strong fanbase even when they sucked. An move them to OKC? Travesty!!!!

2005-06 Kobe Bryant is somehow underrated. That version of Kobe is on par with peak Jordan. That’s the season he became probably as capable as peak Mike. The following season I saw him improve as a leader tho, he made that young Laker squad as good as they could’ve been. Lucky for him he got a smart and all star worthy PF in Pau Gasol to balance out that rosters' talent and offensive shortcomings lol. its still kind of impressive how thats all he needed to turn the Lakers into a championship dynasty.

Wilt also has the only quintuple double with 53 points, 23 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 steals and 24 blocks in one game. Depending on your fantasy league, that's about 260 fantasy points in one game

Therein lies their beauty. You can tell what matters more to the rater: scoring, defending, entertainment value, etc. Some keep discussions light, others like this one go in depth.

He may not have been good on offence. But he was one of the best defensive players ever and maybe the best on court generals . He lead the celtics to 11 rings over 13 seasons as the main reason for those wins. he has 2 championship years in college and has a gold in the olympics. Russell's leadership and play keeped Wilt from winning more rings than he did. just my option. and its all good. I can't argue for taking any of the others off the list. All are great.

Very interesting narrative and perspective. I will say that. The sade you threw at craig hodges was bogus ( I peeped it) He might not be well known to the youth or thought highly of by older NBA casual fans, but he was a legit 3 point sniper

oh man the Giannis vs Harden one was tough but at the end of the day he didn’t have as good of a multi year public campaign to win like Giannis did. It’s won by receiving the most votes, so the campaign is part of it whether we realize it or wanna admit it or not..

Great list and thorough analysis. But I do have a few issues #1 You have to separate perimeter defense and post defense. Especially now that today’s perimeter players are handicapped by the rules. #2 Jordan guarded Magic a majority of the 91’ finals and he is a better defender than Pippen. Pippen may have deserved a DPOY (96’ should have been his) but he didn’t win. MJ won while going up against all time great shot blocking big men. Also because MJ was so good on offense the focus on his defense went down. But his defensive IQ was unmatched, especially later in his career.

21-22 Gobert could deserve at least a honorable mention in the Non-DPOY seasons. There was a point when Rudy missed games, and the Jazz had a historically low defensive-rating in those, while with him, they were a top ranked defense. Not to mention that he was at his peak mobility aswell, which was fairly great, specially for 7'1” guys. Gobert is the only All-Time defender who peaked in terrible defensive contexts.

It was quite surprising to put Curry on 2nd but I agree because after 2016 I stop watching NBA. His dominate 3pt shooting on that season definitely changed the game, after few season after 2016, every game and every team was 3pt tournament .
