Strummer had to uninstall hair because 3rd-party add-ons are against ToS.

The fact that Dawntrail duties have seen an uptick in difficulty from what we're used to means that I (tanks) get to solo bosses way more often these days. Especially the current Experts. But for some reason I also had the opportunity to solo P7N as a Gunbreaker from something like 20% down - this was a couple days ago (tomestone farming with Normal Raid Roulette). When the rest of the party died, my monkey brain went into overdrive. Even had the opportunity to use LB3...got 7 commendations after. Felt amazing.

There's no uptick in difficulty at all, each expansion just has its expansions mechanics. What you're seeing is the people who get carried by ilvl die more often. Plus the community eats crayons. Go look at FFLogs right now, look at how big the difference some powerful jobs are in the lower percentile. Go look at the recent community post about the new press the glowing button to win job being too hard for players. These people want FF14 to be spamming Frostbolt in Molten Core.

Was doing one of the post msq dungeons and everyone wiped at like 60% and I kept going and typed "I can reset if yall want" and they all told me "Nah were chilling" and watched me solo the boss (buff warrior so we can solo faster)

Had same experience with first and second boss on the third dungeon, they were like “that was fcking lit, you could solo this” it felt good

It's a waste of time unless they come back and die again which is happening more often than not.

I hate dark knight having the least healing. Imagine a job that typically uses Blood Weapon in other FF games having the least healing

We do have healing, its at the end of our combo tho and that's all the healing we have.

It does suck but you can do the bosses usually from 40% down :D (i did like 6x and it was close sometimes)

@@andrewtimothy9792 It was Blood Prince + Abyssal drain but yeah. DRK with these two skills and Sole Survivor was unkillable.

the games doesn't provide challenges so when you get a chance to actually try a little harder YOU TAKE IT

I was leveling warrior in the 93 dungeon and the whm died early on in the 2nd boss. I ended up choosing my favorite of the 2 vipers to keep alive so the thing dies faster and then the healer complains about tank balance for the rest of the dungeon. Probably safe to say i added to the healer strike in that run

As a long time PLD main, turned DPS player. I will kill myself as a tank, to pull again if im the only one left if hp is too high. For me i see it as an opportunity to teach people, the community has to learn or the die again next run. If they die again on round 2 fuck it im soloing. 🤷🏾

As a DPS main, I love when the tank solos the boss, no matter how much time it takes, keep it up chads, don't let the clowns deter you from doing what you're made to do

Yeah on WAR and GNB when everyone dies and the boss has like less then 50% HP I typically ask "want me to reset?" Cause I know I CAN finish the fight usually, and some people actually like watching it, some want to go afk, and others will just say "yes" and I will. But if we've wiped like 4-5 times on a dungeon boss cause someone still isn't getting it then I'm finishing that shit so we can move on lol I don't play PLD and DRK just can't, so it's a WAR and GNB only thing for me xP

I'm glad Xena clarified that DRK is an exception because, as A DRK main, the nanosecond after the healer dies I'm instantly wearing a red shirt.

As a WAR main and see the healer die and no rezzers in the party, I put on my green badge and try to keep everyone else alive.

I had to finish so many bosses from ike 20% because healers just died in almost any dungeon I did the first few days.

If they dont wanna wait, they should party up with a Dark Knight xffingf

That first statement is so untrue it hurts, whenever it comes to that I'm celebrating, I cheer because that's so freaking cool.

Funny thing is that the healer kept dying from the mechanic at Tender Valey, and I had to heal the dps as a paladin as boss was at 60-70 precent each time , and the healer learned the mechanic by watching us to play, so it's sometimes useful solo if you want to help someone master mechanic

Happens rarely to me (in dungeons) but when it happens I struggle if I should do it or not while doing it anyway. PLD tho, so takes probably even longer. >.

they need to add a passive buff for warrior or tank specific when everyone dies u get 50% atk boost and cool down

Maybe if they were better at dungeon content the tank would't be the only party member alive

My bad for dying as PCT to unavoidable damage or a group soak that picked me after the healer dies to getting knocked off the edge or whatever. Sorry I don't have any healing in my kit and the tank won't throw Aurora/Clemency/TBN/etc out.

Anyone that would complain about a tank solo'ing a boss in a dungeon clearly NEVER played a tank.

I recall farming just a regular SHB dungeon for glam as DRK, and on last boss party kept failing, multiple times, even with me explaining mechanics to them. After 5th time I said fuck it, didn't wipe with them and kept going, and they were still complaining. You've got 5 attempts. Do better. Sincerely, Tanks.

Ive met gunbreakers in dungeons who can’t exist without a healer and I don’t understand why. I know paladins and warriors are invincible but i thought gun breakers were too. But twice now our healers have DC’d or died and the gunbreaker just melts

gunbreaker self sustain just isnt that strong. Aurora/condrum are nice, but cant keep you up forever. Especially if u want to heal others too. Though way better than DRK.

They've got Heart, Aurora, Brutal Shell, and Great Nebula; it's notably much less than WAR or PLD. Whether you can solo depends on the boss, and it's much harder to keep someone else alive alongside you (PLD is the best at this).

I had a couple PLD that duod a trail boss after everyone else died at around 60%. The healers were new, so you can't be mad at them. One of the tanks died with 25% health left, and the last tank did the rest of the fight solo. It was impressive performance by the tanks, but it was ZERO respect for everyone else's time in there. This happened just 2-3 days after the expansion dropped last week, and that trail took 24 minutes to complete. I was pretty mad about it since that morning I only had time to play for 1 hour.

This hapoened in Lunar Subterrane of all places for me. The first time I just walled it as a WAR to be nice. But the second time I daid fuck it and soloed it when the party died again. Hell if you have a single DPS with you you can heal them and yourself as a WAR so long as 4 man stacks don't show up.

maybe true for drk now, but when i was catching up in patch quests before dawntrail i had to solo the second to last trial for the last 30% of there hp, give me back my survivability!

I'm sorry, but if I am 7 minutes in a fight and everyone dies, then those who made the mistakes complain that the tank is wasting time finishing it? They are the ones asking to waste 7 minutes of my time expecting to reset.

What are you even yapping about? Dungeon bosses (where this happens 99% of the time) live 3 minutes max. Meanwhile a tank trying to solo from 60% takes like 7 minutes from that point. We can literally reset and wipe at 10% twice before you'd even kill it.

as a tank main (WAR and PLD) I agree I'm absolutely going to solo if everyone goes down. Unless it's super early in the fight and people are complaining a lot then maybe I'll consider walling myself.

OP that post is wrong lol I was in a party that kept wiping to the last Endwalker dungeon, including me (assuming we all renewed our Sub to finish the last bit of Endwalker before DT). On pull #3 or 4 the party died at maybe 60-70% health and i had already understood the boss mechanics so i solo'd the rest as warrior. Also why OP is wrong, the fights take like 5 minutes anyways, including the walk back. The time it takes from a solo tank (lets say 50% health or less) to full party vs the boss at full health takes basically the same amount of time. And i know when a boss should have been dead, like i can feel it, that means the dps is low. Low dps = longer fight time and eventually less mana for the healer. No, reddit OP....... Sincerely, NOT everyone else

I'll usually wall if it's the first time wipe and its got 80% left but as a PLD I will spam clemency if even one DPS is alive cause ya know what now you are my ward and you bet your ass were taking the boss down. Doesn't matter if the others are dead. I will keep you standing no matter what. This is the ONLY time i get to use cover damn it, I'm making the most of it!!!

If you die you deserve to sit there witnessing my greatness bowing down to true unstoppable warrior capability m'liege I will do you proud

Cept till the same 3 people keep dying so damn early, I will solo the bosses as their punishment. I would solo the boss for 10min rather than wipe for 35mins

Honestly I agree and disagree, I really don't care one way or the other. But if someone is new (as in DT launched and people are new) I'll die and let them experience the boss. It is a waste of time.

No one wants to sit there for 20 minutes watching some bald guy solo a boss and no one cares that they can, just wipe and reset and let the party learn the dungeon

I'll tell you what: you do mechanics properly and stop wiping us, and I'll stop saving the group's ass after you step in the bad for the 6th time.

I ended up soloing the second boss in the lvl 97 dungeon from like 30%. I was not trying to be mean or anything, I just didn't notice the whole part was dead until the boss had 30% health left. I am not going to lie i am a pretty bad tank, and i never look at the party list. I play warrior so what the rest of the part does has very little effect on me. I only noticed because on the spinning attack i walked over a dead teammate and that is when i looked at the party list.

Sounds like a skill issue, if people don't understand the fight, and I do but refuse to read the freaking chat, then I'm soloing the damn boss. Nuff Said!

I play Dark Knight and *never* wall it if everyone else dies. I have at least 5 more mins with Walking Dead. 🤷🏼‍♀️😇 VAGINA MODE.

I usually go for a round of mechanics and if I see people talking about what killed them and discussing the fight then yeah I'll reset. But if there's a cry baby telling me to reset because they're the one that's terrible, it's just too funny at that point.

As a DRK main, I have solo'd Dawntrail bosses quite often. Even the Ronkan scree.

I'd blacklist anyone "on strike" and see how THAT goes for these crybabies in the long run. Nothing more toxic than whiny brats who think they're owed everything. Idiocy reigns supreme ...

I love when tanks solo a fight from 30/40% They died period. Give the Tank their spotlight. A waste of time is also resetting. I’m pro tank soloing It’s a normal dungeon chill people damn!

I had a group wipe on a new dt dungeon boss was at 80% and i just soloed it the party was telling me to die so we can all take boss out faster butt what people dont know is that i shrink chat down so i dont have to look at it. Because chat boxes is where all the toxic people live. I only saw the messages once i unshrunk the chat box after boss died. and yes i shrink it when ever i am doing group play. ... There is only one person i care to talk to and he sits in the same room as me when we play.

No one cares if you can solo the boss, it’s annoying watching people stroke there ego and solo things in group content after people slip up abit,it removes peoples learning experience ,just because you wanna show off but instead your party is eye rolling bored out there mind because you wanna look like billy bad ass. Its impressive yes but don’t do this mess if the boss is like pretty much full health and party slipped up once. Just wipe and clear it faster while learning the mechanics instead of sitting there for 40 minutes watching a tank solo a dungeon boss
