Hi Rosalie. Ren did a couple shout-outs to you today when he was live on Twitch. He appreciates reactors so much. When he pulled up a youtube query for "Ren Reactions" right after the premier and already saw you and others there, he started crying. It felt so wholesome and touching. Then it was super fun to hear him talking about the various reactors, whom he says feel like friends and family to him, and I already know and follow all of them too. (One of which is you). Thank you for your contribution to this unusual community and this wild ride for the last couple months. Very special.

Hi Rosalie. I have been a musician for many years writing songs and performing with bands and other friends. These last years of my life i had fallen a bit away from writing and playing i was struggeling to find meaning in the only solid thing i have in my life "music". Then one day i came across "Hi - Ren" and it mirrored my feelings...I was blown away with the honesty in his songs because i listened to everything at ones!! All his songs hehe. There is a reference to flying up and touching the sky. He did a song called Icarus with his band. He throws in so many references to his other work in all that he does. This was very angry but I loved it. It gives me the band "Mushroomhead" vibes with the animal masks and chaos. I love that he films videos with what is around him in a lower costs way which gives it the great street quality style. The cinematography is always amazing. I am not into rap at all but I always look forward to what Ren has to say because he says so much in such simple phrases with big impact. Powerful!

*Ren, in white, leading the animals :* _"Pull up, pull up, pull up to the place. When I pull it, bang, a bullet sang, it shot right into space"_ *Ren, bare chested, leading hooligans :* _"Music for the hooligans let loose on the estate, call the police and the riot vans the people want to play, hey!"_ He's leading both groups. Firstly, the animals _(yes, including the Pig)_ ... is this his commoditisation of his art? selling himself? ... and then also leading the hooligans 'on the estate' an angry disenfranchised youth rioting against the system. Seems like a duality of purpose here. Perhaps a nagging sense of hypocrisy. A nod to having a foot in both camps? I think the idea ties back to his other work. Like in "Sick Boi" where he says _"While I'm bleeding, I'm the reason 'cus I'm doing the same"_ or in "Money Game" where he says _"Point the mirror at ourselves. We're ALL part of this old money game"_ ... he's quick to point out that we are all part of the system too. And he's _"bleeding himself"_ for fame, as 'Sick Boi' phrases it : ) And so, here he is, leading two groups in a fight! He's become king, in successfully selling himself in the UK music scene. Commoditising himself. And he's become king to those railing against commercialisation and greed. Just a thought. I may be reading too much into it.

Maybe you are reading too much into it, but nice mind gymnastics there. I agree that theme of good and evil in every human is a recurring theme even in his 10 year old songs (pig representing the greed in oneself or in icons like corporations I think), also there is the contrast of ill(good meaning) Ren vs ill(medical meaning) Ren in 2 parts of the song.

Yes, all generations do seem to be interested in his work! 🤠 I'm 64, a musician and visual artist, and one who has struggled with my own mental illness issues--as have others in my family. That struggle hasn't only been in my head, but in my artistic endeavors, because I've been more on the passive side of things (i.e. co-dependency, depression) and have always felt that my own creative work has been "missing the mark," authenticity-wise. Discovering Ren has been one of recognition and joy for me in the past few weeks. His willingness to face his inner demons and uncompromisingly show the ugliness and beauty of that battle has been a great inspiration for me and other artists and, from what I've seen in the comments of so many reactor channels, for anyone dealing with the rough edges of life. My sister is a therapist, and I shared your Hi Ren reaction with her last week. She loved it!

Ren promises that from this song on he really will get serious. Because he is a masochist, the type to kill a pacifist (doesn't fear to fight), an alchemist of words (what is the objective of Alchemy?), an evangelist, spreading the good word but in a way that you think he is a cancerous pragmatist, and yes "think before I speak then I answer it" (he has the answers, but first you have to find the questions). As in 'Hi Ren' he tells as that he is Mercury (the messenger of Gods, also the trickster, who gets all the ladies he want), and he is Freddy (I think this is a reference to F. Kruger, the evil child killer) in one person (and actually playing with the name of Freddy Mercury in the same time). Don't just hear my word "eat my word fill your belly" because there is much to ponder. He is a fallen angel on his way to get back to heaven, so he fully shows himself to everybody, and if you go deep into " the corner of my cornea and mind" you may find the answers that even Ren could not find. Who (Ren and his audience) could ask for anything more?

So cool you did this right off the bat! A few notes - 1. white clothes/NF similarity - it's totally coincidental, but very, very intriguing, there have been a number of similarities between them with their new releases (another one is Hope) but Ren mentions in his comments to the video it was done last summer -actually a pretty cool and creepy story, worth checking it out! 2. Am I tripping, or were there two different Ren's in the video? Ren in White and tied up Ren, also when White Ren with animal masks faces off hooligans, there is another Ren on their side as well - I picked up some duality here, still trying to match it with the lyrics. Any thoughts, anyone? This video was loaded with symbology and so are lyrics.

Illest - slang for best illest To be among the best of somthing but in a unique ground breaking manner. To raise the bar. Change the game. To surpass the best and take them to school. To take something and make it your own. To broaden the minds of others in what you create or build or preform. That is the illest shit I've ever seen yo! From Urban Dictionary

What I'm seeing so far f in this, beyond what you've highlighted, is the next stage of the Sick Boi story arc, much like the stages of grief... here, we've moved bey9nd Frustration and Depression, and just starting to dip toes into the onset of Anger (with a dash of Determination thrown in for flavor)

I'm 42 years old and absolutely love Ren and not only his music but his character and his story telling. The guy's voice is incredible but it has nothing on his lyrical genius and his ability to make his instruments perfectly coincide with the lyrics. I wont even talk about the amount of genres just one song covers.

He did a live stream right after the video dropped yesterday (on Twitch), and to see his genuine, emotional reaction to how many reaction channels had already posted videos within an hour of the songs release, was truly heartwarming. This young man deserves every bit of love , support, and success he's finally getting. I couldn't be happier for him, especially for someone so talented, so driven, and without question, someone who has been forged through fire. Love this kid! Fan for life.

Watching this after hearing For Joe hits different. 'I want to spread these tattered wings, hold them high. Banished from the heavens but I'm knocking on the sky. Living with depression is a blessing in disguise. Never second guessing, intuition getting wise. Want to sink into the pupil of my eye, travel to the corner of my cornea and mind. Look for all the answers that I never seem to find" - - This all his SO MUCH HARDER after learning about the story of Joe, and his tribute.

The line that jumps out for me is 'I was cast out of heaven...! Its a metaphore for Lucifer, the morning star, bringer of light, who offered humanity the choice of free will! This is perhaps one of the greatest artistic acheivements lyricaly & visualy I've ever seen in my 4 yrs of browsing creativity on youtube.

Also I believe the white attire could represent the « strait jacket » that he has broken free of. I mean he demonstrates what he says about depression being a blessing with his lyrics; that is when you are deepest within yourself and question everything. These are the beautiful conclusions he came to. Love your analysis sis! ❤

When I watch a video by Ren...I now always think back to Hi Ren. Then wonder and work out which side of his personality this tune/song comes from. Angry Ren or Fighting back Ren. This one is definitely angry Ren with a sprinkling of "I am SIN with no rhyme or reason"

Thank you for being so prompt with this reaction! 🫶🏻 Yet another remarkable analysis! Love your perspective on things and the space you give for other varieties! I also thought he talks like a narrator at the start like ‘let’s see the mine of the illest’ - as in himself and his own perspective of himself. At the end when he refers to his wings held up high in the sky, I was reminded of Hi Ren and him standing on his own two feet. Although not quite comfortably yet since he still hasn’t found all the answers of who he is and until then… he’s just the illest… he’s just a sick/ ill person.. I hope this makes sense… Thank you again! Much love! ⭐️🫶🏻
