Thanks Rosalie, Here in the UK treatments are overly delivered within an economic model. Outcome-measured practices, such as CBT, means that person-centred, individualised treatments don't get funded. It's interesting to see that the once health secretary Jeremy Hunt is now the Chancellor of £. Also, Hunt has been refusing to fund NHS pay rises or investments in health care. I wanted to add that I'm not just sounding off but trying to be part of the change. Ren's step mum, Hannah Sherbersky is a leading figure in transforming UK therapy Services. Using a systemic model, training therapists to see how the services and therapeutic approaches can be part of the problem. Addressing issues like race, gender and equality. So I really like your ideas about symbiosis. Everything's connected. If we are to get our health services working we have to think systemically, not looking for shortcuts to reduce government targets. Martin

@@martingilluk1 Firstly you must be a very proud dad, what a talented son you have. Ren's work is bringing such powerful messages out into the open. I was a nurse for 27 years, (in UK) with a lot of training and experience. When I needed healthcare, I was horrified by the way I was treated, not believed, not assessed properly or referred to the right experts, within a system that appeared to have lost its way completely. It was really harmful psychologically to be dismissed and pushed towards self care inappropriately, by people I considered lacked the skills and knowledge to be delivering contracted services.....I would love to hear more about the work Hannah is doing. In my opinion proper patient assessment and management of information flows between professionals is where the problems start and healthcare really needs to get back to basics. I'm not sure where it's going but we need political will and radical review of just about everything, including the research base influencing policies and the current 'heist' of our NHS.

@@julieyates405 NHS England does fund innovations around training staff to be more empathic using a systemic model. The problem is around NICE guidance and evidence based practice. CBT has more evidence of the behavioural linear approach. Problems are more complex though. Especially mental health. Families are often the symptom bearers. CBT focuses on fixing the individual. Hannah’s work is about training people to realise they are often part of the problem. That by being more open and curious when using their nurses skills the outcomes will be better

  • @julieyates405

@@martingilluk1 The one thing I can truly add in here, is sometimes patients are being pushed towards pain management programmes or chronic fatigue services, and CBT when underlying physical problems haven't been diagnosed or treated properly. This is creating a lot of additional mental health challenges for patients and avoidable long term complications for patients. Everyone has a part to play in their own wellness, but I feel it's important for professionals to know what's what. I've seen patients with chronic pain taken off drugs that help, forcing them into a crisis, because a 'practitioner' was working with a hypothesis they didn't work and the patient needed to turn on their 'inner pharmacy'. Which was not what NICE or the Pain Society recommended at all. Hopefully the work Hannah is doing can help to move services forward. When it comes to something like Lyme, a yes or no test is primarily all that appears to be on offer. If it's negative, there's no where else to go. I know of patients who had positive testing abroad, but still couldn't get NHS treatment despite being quite sick. This suggest the efficacy of testing needs to be challenged, particularly somewhere like Sussex where ticks are so common.

As someone who suffered from Lyme disease and had it steal my best years, this hits hard. I feel the pain and it brings back memories. This is another incredible work of art! I did eventually beat Lyme disease after 3 years of Doxycycline antibiotic. I got off the antibiotic too soon twice and it came back harder than ever. The third time I recorded my symptoms and found that I had flare ups every two weeks and they logarithmically declined over 8 months. Then I stayed on the antibiotics 6 more months after no symptoms and I was terrified it would come back but never did. I still had completely destroyed hips and could barely walk but in my late 20s got both hips replaced and now I’m back to hiking and biking with 2 awesome kids and feeling great. I hope others with Lyme disease will hear this and get hope!

@@AndrewsRRaOS I took the Lyme titer and it takes some interpretation of the results to confirm... There are a lot of antigens on there and most will say negative and most doctors don't know how to read the results. Mine came back partly positive on a few antigens and positive on others and negative on others. First GP just gave me prescription narcotics which I tossed after a week because they were clearly not good for me mentally and didn't help the pain much. The good doc who treated me and understood how to interpret the test said the Lyme titer looked like I had an old infection and then a more recent one. My mom had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome before I was born and might have passed it to me at birth. I did a lot of camping/backpacking as a kid and got bitten by ticks so perhaps I did have two infections. I struggled through the symptoms my whole life and just thought I had more health problems than normal but I tried my best to ignore and push through. What finally wore me down and made me seek treatment was my joints - especially hips. By age 18 I couldn't run without pain. By 21 my hip cartilage was gone completely and I could barely walk. Also had spine, neck, and knee issues. Was told by "the best" rheumatologist in DFW that I had ankylosing spondylitis and I was prescribed Humera which kills your immune system to stop the inflammation. I told him, "I tested positive for Lyme disease though..." and he didn't care. He cut me off and said, "that's not it." Then handed me a pamphlet on Ankylosing Spondylitis which stated, "the cause of AS is unknown, but could be of bacterial origin." The CDC doesn't recognize Chronic Lyme as a thing... I don't know if its because insurance doesn't want to pay for treatments or because they're covering up the Plum Island tickborne disease experiments or because they just generally want you sick and weak. My parents both tested positive and tried for years to get me to test but I wouldn't. Typical teenager thinks he knows better. Even after I started the Doxycycline I wasn't convinced so I quit too soon. I only became convinced after I quit the antibiotics because I suddenly felt soooo much worse. Going back on the antibiotics helped again. Quit too soon the 2nd time and it came back again. 3rd time I was determined so I journaled my symptoms every day for a year and found a clear logarithmic decline in flare up severity until it was 0. Then stayed on antibiotics another 6 months and it stayed gone! Still had bad hips but eventually got those replaced and have no issues anymore.

Beyond the obvious of ticks being a primary transmission vector for Lyme's Disease, a major motivation in Ren's life and music, it sets up the rest of the track. The parasitic nature of the music industry, mental and physical health industries, and industry in general, as well as current society, parasites getting fat and bloated while bleeding the host dry, spreading pain and disease while only concerned with supporting the parasites own greed. Distract the host, misdirect them, bleed them dry, move on to the next. Rinse and repeat. Some parasites (e.g. Cordyceps) will take control of behaviors and even continue to animate the host long after its death. Hi Rosalie, the choir sample in the background is a Bulgarian folk song called "Bre Petrunko", I'm not sure whether it was intentional, but the lyrics go very well with his song here, it's about a dance called the Horo that is performed by Men and women in a circle holding hands that goes round and round as though stuck on a merry-go-round, and a young girl called Petrunka (Petruna) who gets lost in the dance.

Another great reaction as usual. It would seem that Ren has been dealing with the same type of doctors I have had to put up with for the past 25+ years. The song describes my experience to a T. As you stated, you already have read a little about his background; here is what I was able to find on the internet and from Ren's live stream recordings. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue. His illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours a day. Ren was initially diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome. It would take seven years before he was finally diagnosed correctly with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and brain damage. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. He is currently in Canada for more treatments. I would recommend you check out his trilogy, "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet," it is haunting and has an unexpected ending; WATCH THEM IN THE STATED ORDER, as this is the flow of the storyline. It is another example of Ren’s lyrical and musical genius. It is a master class in story telling. Again, great reaction. God bless.

@@stevenmeyer9674 Sounds to me like if Ren was "unbalanced" it was a result of his misdiagnosis, the effects of the "therapy" for a problem that didn't exist, and the Hell he went through trying to deal with the effects of a disease that was totally missed. On top of the physically devastating effects of Lyme Disease, being told that "it's all in your head" and that you're basically nuts would be bad enough. But then being treated with psych drugs for something that didn't exist, on top of the neurological effects of Lyme Disease strikes me as malpractice. The fact Ren never gave up and kept fighting is a testament to his inner strength and spirit. We are human beings, but we are not our bodies and if anyone ever shown a light on that fact it is this young man! I've been a physician for 43 years and there are good and bad players as in any field, but once healthcare became for profit and the bean counters took over, the patient care went in the toilet. The ineffeciency is in the bureaucracy, and in the USA way too much of the operating costs are sucked up by "the machine" and never make it to patient care. The other systemic issue is the lack of responsibility of many of the public for their own health. Poor lifestyle choices result in around 80% of chronic health problems we suffer, which takes up a disproportional amount of healthcare resources. But the public doesn't want to hear that because it would mean they'd have to get their own poop grouped. Until that is effectively addressed it's going to continue to be like bailing water out of a boat which has holes below the waterline. Eventually you can't keep up and the whole system crashes. Add to that the effects of the thousands of toxic substances we're exposed to every day, the way our food is grown and brought to market, and it's doomed to fail. The proverbial accident looking for a place to happen. Ren speaks to this systemic issue in his song Sick Boi. Hell of a message he's attempting to share! But..... if anyone has a chance to accomplish positive change it's going to be the artists/creatives. Because the corporate suits, shareholders, bought and paid for politicians and the bureaucrats sure as hell don't want anyone rocking the boat and killing their very lucrative sacred cow.

You sure that wasn't an exaggerated rumor that got out of hand or something. It's more that I don't want it to be true, than me not believing it's true. Idk, maybe it is, I lived in and worked a fairly rough, semi poor working class area all my years, but there are rougher areas, I know of medics that got burned out seeing the violence and lack of humanity day in and day out, and just start to give zero fucks about patients anymore, so maybe that's the case. I totally get the wait with the GP, that shit happens here too, there was a 5week wait to get in to see my therapist not long ago, and my mom had just died, and they couldn't even squeeze me in. It's a shit life out there sometimes. Take it easy, and stay safe out there.

Okay, as far as how Eminem started in the game. I think this guy has that potential. Currently, no one compares to Eminem. NF is epic, not one of my faves, but still.... he's made his imprint, BUT this guy is different then both of them, and it seems as if the masses are responding to his music. I lived through all three of these guys initial moments, so i wanted to speak on it. The guitar as well, the singing, the presence in front of a camera. This cats GOT IT ALL.

Hello from Serbia, Rosalie. 🖤 I'm sorry in advance if this comment gets too long, but I really need to say few things. First of all, I want to thank Ren for being the voice for all of us who haven't found the way to speak about this topic ourselves. There are so many people dealing with similar situations but being invisible. I think we are generally invisible because we are disabled and we spend most of our time bedridden, unable to move, unable to talk or express ourselves. And people outside even don't know we exist, not to mention what we are dealing with on a daily basis. I am diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS and it has been 6 years of real agony. The worst part is - doctors - and that's why this song hit me really hard. All of the doctors I have seen have treated me either as a (just) mentally ill or a hypochondriac. Even those few who knew a little about my diagnosis, after trying several drugs that didn't work, openly told me that they couldn't do anything for me anymore. The last experience I've had was just 3 days ago when a rheumatologist shouted to me for saying that I am phisically not able to go the next day to a psychiatrist she wanted me to go to and because none of the medications she had given me worked. I barely can walk, think, speak, even breathe and if I do something a bit more tiring, like going to a doctor, it costs me days of living in a hell. And people don't understand it, but the worst is that doctors don't understand it. Or they think I'm faking it, I don't know. They all tell me to go to psychotherapy, but no one asks if I have money for that. I cannot work due to my condition, I live like a parasite with my husband and he doesn't have good enough salary to afford even a decent food and basic needs. But no one really cares about it. If I tell that to a doctors, they just shrug and say they cannot do anything about it. They all seem so ignorant and unprofessional and it is devastating because they are my only hope, but whenever I go to them they just make me feel even worse. I watched your reactions to both Ren's songs and your words made me cry, made me hopefull, made me angry, made my feel understood, made me desperate... all kind of different emotions. You know, even if you don't do psychotherapies, if I had money, I would ask you to work with me. I am just sick of all "professionals" not being professional and emphatetic. And you are rare, very rare person that I feel I could really talk to and not feel worse afterwards. I don't know if all this that I wrote make any sense and if you get what I wanted to say. Cognitive problems are one of the sympthoms of my illness, so sorry if something sounds confusing. I just wanted to share my experience, to thank Ren and to thank You for being what you are. Your words might make me cry but they are always so profound and spot on. I feel like you understand humans more than most psychiatrists and doctors (definitelly more than all that I have met myself by now).

Jovena, I know. My drs. don't seem to understand that just getting ready and getting there for one visit is more than enough to put me down. I had a Dr. tell me to just walk like I am not in pain. Tried a pain clinic; nothing but a blackmail scheme there. So I sit in this pain every day, being judged for not trying hard hard enough. Man, I would like to do what Ren did there. Throw the chair, flip the table, and just get in their face. I sure am praying for Ren. His treatments in Canada sound pretty rough. I am so thankful you posted! I am a little less lonely today. God bless.

@@dirtinmyeye6505 Hey you, don't know your name, but I want you to know that you are not alone and lonely in your struggles. There are so many of us. And I know it is not too comforting, I know it from my own experience, but it helps at least a little knowing that you're not alone. Judging from the people is so hard, I know. People cannot understsnd it if they haven't gone through the same thing, no matter how hard you try to explain them. And sadly, that includes the doctors too. Ren has done a huge thing with his music, not only by making us find some kind of comfort in his words and his own life story, but also by conecting all of us "damaged" ones. I feel the same as you. I feel a bit less lonely when someone shares a similar story to mine. And I also hope that Ren's gonna be fine, that he will be cured. I know he has a really hard time now with the treatments, but I truly hope that it will be worth of the pain and suffering in the end. He deserves to have a happy, healthy life and the world needs him. Sending you big, warm hug. And don't hesitate to write and share your feelings and thoughts. 🖤

Reminds me of how I asked my therapist if I was possibly schizophrenic back in highschool, but he laughed it off and said schizophrenics only fear the government. That therapist always blamed every issue I had on my dad's alcoholism so he wasn't really helpful. I ended up getting diagnosed as schizophrenic nearly a decade later since it became so bad that I could barely leave the house let alone be at work. I had so very many hardships with relationships (platonic and otherwise) thanks to being undiagnosed for so long. Plenty of scars that I still hate today, but i channel those into writing fanfiction to both vent the frustrations and feelings out, but also to try and show people they aren't alone. I tend to get too spooked and discouraged to post my writing, but Ren's music's been giving me a bit of courage to do so again so I look forward to possibly sharing my stories again.

Ren is amazing. Just keeping it real.we all have to fight our inner demons. I can't imagine what it was like being misdiagnosed and waging that war. But putting it out there so others might make it through is brave. It is not Rens skill or rapping. Those are incredible on their own. It is Ren the person. Who has the desire to tell his story so others may survive.

I love your energy. Great observations. I related the therapist to the tendency to sign autoimmune diseases off as mental health, but that is my personal bias as well. I am still fighting for the right path through this. Sick Boi to me expressed that experience of fully committing in desperation for any way out, only to be not listened to, misunderstood, looked down upon, falsely treated and not believed so well. This connects really well with his Monet Game Part 1and 2, which all looks at our hypocritical nature as individual, society, institutions to not see our own part in it all. Thanks, you have also given me a lot of food for thought.

This is a message related to his experience and personal journey. Medicine is not a perfect science and is complicated by some unqualified people who often think they know more than they do. Speaking from experience these people may not take us on the right path to recovery and instead make it seem psychosomatic because they misdiagnose. So yes his personal experience is tragic and I hear every word.

A lot of it is concerned, I think, with the way the world (society) is sick and causing ecological collapse due to complacency and consumerism Edit: ...and for anyone in this current global environment whom is complicit in making the world (societal And natural) sick...to diagnose sickness and prescribe “help” is perhaps what he means by calling the therapist hypocritical... To try healing in a sick world is hard...and the condition of our home and natural environment is irrevocably related to the inside world within each of us

It's so difficult for younger people here in the UK to get diagnosed with anything out of the ordinary. It's so often diagnosed as depression or anxiety, in my case IBS caused by anxiety disorder. 17 years later, after being told I didn't have the "right" symptoms, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis!! 17 years of agony. So often young peeps are told they have the wrong symptoms or they're not old enough to have a condition or illness. As a teen I self harmed and was "attention seeking", I was a "difficult child". It turned out I was dealing with some pretty serious childhood trauma and at 48 am awaiting an ADHD assessment 🤔 The NHS is so broken, I wonder if thats why the nurse is looking discheviled? I totally get the shouting in her face and her not reacting, I JUST WANT TO BE HEARD, WHY ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO MEEEEEE? Thats how I read that xxx

Hi Rosalie, first off im loving your channel, the way you dive deep is refreshing and so much better than standard reaction videos, might i suggest your next Ren experience be a trilogy, check out Jenny's Tale, Screech's Tale and Violets Tale (in that order, very important) hope you enjoy and hope to see you react to it soon :)

I love it when you just let it play uninterrupted the first time through and just see the complete organic reaction and then break it down on a replay...

I absolutely love your reviews, sooo different from other channels where they just say how the artist is so good, you actually do a deep analysis about the lyrics, the leitmotifs throughout the song or even through several songs, you are killing it. Love it.

I LOVE how you break this down. My daughter (in my profile) has battled the medical industry for 20 years with epilepsy, but it's been more than that and no one can figure out what else is wrong. She has these "attacks" every day that different doctors have called different things. We are just recently starting to figure some things out. She's doing miofacial release therapy and it's helping so much. I just want to say, THANK YOU for being so kind and compassionate. Just love your content

I have had all the same experiences with Menieres Disease. Ren expresses all the struggles that we chronic patients go through so freaking beautifully. I also have viewed from the outside how society isolates the weaker people.
