Awesome video. I am small KZreadr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours)

Jack i noticed something new, an old short of mine which is more than half a year old has gotten over 150,000 clicks out of nowhere. the clicks are still growing and i'm extremely surprised because the video before it stopped at about 6,000 clicks. This is something whats new in the algorithm, it gives old short content a chance to go viral. all it takes is time.

Hello sir,I had a question,I am growing another channel alongside my current one and I realized that the niche I'm trying to grow in doesn't have potential to go super viral so I want to switch niches but I have already gotten the channel to 3.5k subscribers in a couple of weeks so would it better to create a completely new channel to upload videos or just delete all the old videos and start uploading different content on the channel which I have already gained 3.5k subscribers...i already surpassed one thousand which fulfills one of the two monetization requirements but I only have 200k views..would you be able to help me make this decision?

Why does this new update make me think this happened because yt is tired of tate podcasts being posted to yt but in reality its very hard to make those original because main idea of those shorts is to get out a message. So it almost feels as they wanna get rid of them. Either way great showcase of new shorts creation. Definitelly gonna help :)

I would try KZread search around and find a style of content within your niche that is creating content that you think is value editing like I explained in the video.... if you find one try to change it so you create unique shorts. I wouldn't appeal the decision until you can get another few viral shorts to get back to 5 mill views or 10 mill. It will be easier because you do have viral shorts that you can use for returning viewers which helps. Then once there delete your old shorts so they approve your channel.

Hi Jack, really good content that you delivered. I followed your methods and be able to monetize in 2 months. and now i noticed the same thing happening to me and some similar channels. each of my videos only get couple thousands views while they could get tens of thousands before. I am making podcast clips with edits and im hoping to see how this can be changed.

Well done on the experiments and sharing that with us. I was wondering why the 0 views because I start 4 different channels and 2 got 27K +/- (Individually) views in 7 days the other 2 keep getting zero with each video posted, and I am consistently posting same time everyday. Same kind of edits as well which I don't get. If you could let me know if my editing on this channel would count as value added editing, though there is no voice over the editing still takes a long time and it would suck if I grind it out and youtube deems it as no value editing. Same style/kind off editing on the other 3 channels.

This is why the way to go on KZread is to build a personality imo, otherwise you fall off quickly Yes, it takes more time and effort, but it pays off in the end I am not saying that I am the next Penguinz0 but around 20 shorts were enough to build a solid foundation On TikTok this is probably different, with the new Creativity Program your football channel would have made 30k and not 4k so short term virality is also really valuable

Yeah, your concerns are justified and i dont believe it will be monetizable. You do have around 400 subscribers though so dont give up! What you have been doing is working and you have an initial audience. So it might be best to start slowly pivoting to content that is monetizable. Let me know how you go!!

I’m running a channel just for my hobby, I do not monetize my channel but what I’ve noticed is that they (again) made some fixes on the KZread store and some features in short remixes. It could be what makes shorts not work well with the previous algorithm. Good luck anyway:)

This guy inspired me to start my channel! I started mine 3 weeks ago and here i am in the comment section for you peeps to check it out. This process takes time! I also had view spikes going up and down during this time. Many of my shorts got literally 0 views for a week straight. But some of my shorts performed pretty well also. My Episode 30 literally got -- average percentage viewed of 96% with 1.5k views -- and I was really amazed by that. Now again from 2 days, I am getting no views. But now , I am not worried because I know a big spike of views is again gonna hit me in no time. As long as all of you are consistent and trying new stuff, you'll succeed! People learn the hard way. they think slapping text on or adding a few edits is fair use. Original creators still have the power of content id to shut down copycats. You can request a review and explain but you will be doing this continuously and it becomes a nightmare. Find something and create your own content, those nightmares disappear.

You're rejected, and will stay rejected because your content is in no way "transformative." Editing and re-uploading other people's content is not monetizeable. Rogan clips are a rare exception but only with very heavy editing and visual storytelling added to the audio.

@champagnedrake what? Did we watch the same video? Uploading a clip and using auto captions on it will NEVER be monetized. "TRANSFORMATIVE!" That means, if someone went looking for the clip you used, they would be disappointed to find yours instead. You need to change and add something to it that makes the entertainment part of it from you. Watch Dylan Anderson. He is a prime example of fair use transformative content.

Hey Jack, i started this channel a month ago and the most views i got on a video was 14,000. Could this content be monetizable and if not what should i change about it (like obviously making a script for them) . Waiting for your reply

I've had some pretty good success on my shorts but the problem was they aren't monetizable which is really annoying, and ofc I got rejected when I applied. In my most recent short I used your new method, but I am feeling a little discouraged since it didn't even crack 10K views and I need 10M, but as you mentioned, the first five or so shorts wont do well until the algorithm notices.

Your channel actually had hope. All you need to do is to get rid of your shorts. Not unlist, you need to delete them all. Your channel has a higher chance of make 4k watch hours than 10M views.

I guess my shorts are confusing the algorithm of what my channel even is about. Doing some calculations, if I make a 6 minute video and if everyone watches at least halfway through and I got 80K views, that should give me my 4K hrs watch time.

with podcasts and motivation niches, I don't have too much knowledge and I don't to give you incorrect advice specifically related to content. Chances are if they rejected you its not value add editing refer to my video if you want to learn more about this... But here's what i would do: I'd try find a monetized channel in your niche and see if you can pivot your content to something similar. With your appeal video, I would not submit one just yet. Create content using similar techniques to the monetized content in your niche and you can use the shorts you have already created to leverage the existing returning viewers. Once you reach the partner program using new content, delete your old content that wasn't monetizable and reapply. If you think that process will take longer than 90 days then you may as well try the appeal again (because you wont be able to reapply for 90 days after your appeal). Let me know how you go.

If Jack doesn't reply, I'll give my thoughts. I think your shorts are monetizable, you have a voiceover on the "reused" clips and I'm fairly certain that automatically means it is "transformative" content. Plus, your AI voice is realistic enough to be monetized; only reason I'm mentioning that is because I think I heard if the voice is extremely robotic, then KZread don't like it. But seems like you're all good. I don't think your normal, longform videos are though.

Hey Jack, big thanks for guiding creators, among other useful stuff, also on what not to try or stop doing because it does not work anymore or never was. I really appreciate your effort to reply to all the comments you get, and there are plenty of them. I hope you manage to find the will and energy to keep doing good work. I have some questions, so here they are: You said in this video copyrighted music is free to use in shorts, but that does not mean that all of the revenue goes to the video creator, but it is split between the music copyright owner and the video creator, right? What is your experience on this? Is the split 50/50 or what? And also, considering that revenue from shorts is very low, is it really advisable to use random copyrighted music, or is it maybe better to pay a monthly subscription to some platform that offers rights to use popular tracks with the capability to keep all of the revenue? Do you have a recommendation? What is your revenue per 1000 views approximately? What is your approximate Viewed/Swiped rate on your viral videos, and also what is your retention on those videos? What do you think is more important of these two for a video to become viral? What is the ideal length, considering that your most viral shorts are around 20s? Do I have my answer, or would you like to add something to this assumption? Many creators on forums argue about the recommended upload number per day, and many agree that uploading too much is harmful for the channel, meaning that probably some of those videos will never be pushed to shorts feed, and that 'too much' would be more than 3-4. Would you agree on that? And last but not least, we all heard of the most frustrating problem among all the others out there is 0 views from shorts feed problem. Among many low-quality stuff, there are also good ones that encounter the same issue, so how to not waste time spent creating those good quality shorts that don't get pushed to shorts feed? Many say unlist them and upload again, but wouldn't that be considered spamming, and would KZread eventually punish the creator, or maybe KZread mainly actually doesn't care? Thank you in advance for not giving some mainstream BS answers but concise as it could be, as you always do in your videos. Have a great weekend!

Hey! Answering your questions one by one: There is no split so you don't have to be worried about that you keep 100%. My revenue per 1000 views is around 0.01$ USD. Retention is the most important over swipe rate and typically 80%+. The ideal length is as long as possible while keeping it interesting! I would upload twice a day. Just create high-quality content and you will get views.... it may sound BS but you shouldnt be over complicating anything.

Hey Jack. That's very interesting! My YT channel got banned about 6 months ago, I had good engagement. They didn't even give a reason for it xX I'm struggling to get any traction with youtube shorts even though they are all original. They get 0 views it seems they are not shown to anybody. I might take what you're explaining here in this video and just try to create some shorts for fun. I might be able to do that around topics that are relevant for the audience i want to address.

Hey, a 90% AVD is great but you need to consider the length of the short. Because if the AVD is 90% for a 10 second short that is not very good. but if the short is 59 seconds long with a 90% AVD you will go viral.....

I just started this channel. Do you think I need to be adding more to my shorts to make them monetizable? Or is the voiceover enough? Any other tips are greatly appreciated!

I spend a lot of time editing videos in a popular niche and some of them get a couple thousand views but it’s weird because the ones with the lower percentage of click rate and audience retention seem to get more, for example I have one with a 40% viewed and 55% retention with 6000 but one with a 98% viewed and 85% retention with only 130 views

Thanks Jack for the advice you explained it in a really clear way. I created this channel about a month ago and after my 3 videos I completely lost all my views it just dropped down significantly, I even started to implement better editing such as different colored subtitles and making the images move more. I am holding an image on the screen for 3-5 seconds and making nice transitions to increase the retention, but I seem to not get any views. Can you please give me advice on how to maybe spike up again and get back on the track? Thank You.

Yes, as per the above comment, your niche is very saturated and not very engaging. I do recommend you to try be unique in your niche selection and try to select something that has been done before but is unique in your own way.
