The Yamaha STARTS! But Runs AWFUL!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hey Guys, Migs Here! In today’s video, I reassemble the quads engine, a 2002 Yamaha Breeze 125, after rebuilding it due to it bending a valve. Once everything is installed, the first start attempt has some surprises...It Starts, but runs very odd! Thanks for Watching! Please Subscribe, Like, Comment and Tell Your Friends About the Channel!

You need to lap the valves and probably adjust them
The layered metal gasket is normal. Good luck Migs.
It sound like your 180 out on your valve timing. There is two top deads on the valve cycle. Need to make sure your valves are both closed when ur ignitor is hitting

That would be true, but these power sport vehicles usually spark EVERY revolution so it does not matter
Great video migs keep up the good work 👍👍
Like i said in the last video you didnt lap the valves so the compression is very low. Lap the valves and it should work just fine
800 views in 20 min keep it up migs so close to 100k!!!! Good work!!😎💯👌🏼

Moto Migs also huge fan thanks for replying with a positive comment! People usually give me a negative comment good work tho!!!
MIGs I enjoy your videos
When checking if your in time just take the spark plug off and stick a little screw driver and wait till the piston pushes it all the way up and then check your timing on your cam gear just to be sure and find out the correct valve clearance and adjust your valves good luck man love your videos
Yeah hold on I'm just gonna smell how much fuel wear getting brb lol I'm sleep
First like and comment! Nice vid mig!
Your timing is off your 180 degrees out so exhaust is opening when intake should, there is cam timing and ignition timing

On a one cylinder or multiple cylinder with lost spark you are on time every 180° If the engine tunr in the right way it's physically impossible to open the exhost before the intake. Sorry if it was a joke ;)
Mate I’m a youTuber to keep up the good work never give up your doing good mate
I have a Yamaha TTR90 that I rebuilt. I didn't know what I was doing and the timing was off and it sounded just like your four wheeler. I actually bent the intake valve from trying to run it. I feel your pain man, it's a pain in the ass to get that timing right. There should be a cap on the flywheel cover. Remove that and line up the dot with the line there. Both the cam and the crankshaft markings have to be lined up.
Did u adjust the vavles after putting new ones in
Pull the head off, get liquid fine grit sand paper and lap the valves. Put the head on a make sure the timing lines up perfectly. Then clean your carb and try again.
Did u get the rings set right on the piston or timming might be off.
Timing is 180 out make sure the intake valve opens first migs
Nice vid
Did you lap the new valves to the head to get a good seal
What would you guys suggest for a starter bike as a 4 stroke
If someone hasn't mentioned it the multi layered head gaskets is normal!! Any 4 stroke I've worked on has used these head gaskets. If your unsure you can also check the parts diagram for the bike. Also your carburetor is what caused you your trouble in the first place.. I'd dig into the carb and have a look and see if the jets and everything are clear, good luck buddy.
Nice clean vid though
The whole reason it blew up was cause you were trying to get junk out of the carb with the choke on so clean out the carb and try it again

cleaning the carb would make no difference as the engine sounds terrible so that Is nothing to do about the carb.

Clean out your jet in the carb and try it again because if the valve was still open or stuck closed then it would not have ran at all. Make sure you also make sure the timing Cain is at top dead center my brother. Good luck I hope to see it running like normal next video. Also remember new piston rings and what not let it break in.👍🏻
I wonder if the valve isn’t opening all the way? Not sure (exhaust valve)
Have you tried putting a new spark plug in it because it could have fouled it
Did you lap your valves
Also miggs is it In time by your startor?
Not sure if this makes any difference but does your exhaust have a tight seal on the pipe? If it doesn’t it may not have backpressure which can cause the engine to not run right. Check the exhaust pipe gasket coming out of the head
Go thru the carb, make sure both valves are closing and clearances are in spec
Check if there is any pressure leaking between the head and cylinder. Just hold your hand around the area and if it leaks you should be able to feel a light breeze. Just loosen the bolts and tighten them a bit more than before
Definitely 180 out on the timing you have to line up the timing Mark's both on the crank shaft and the cam sprocket
Once you get the quad running you should get a welder and some sheet metal and really try fixing up the exhaust and make it’s nice again
Wide open with full choke works to
There are 2 top dead centers on the cam gear your timing will be 180 off make sure both vavles are closed all the way when the spark plug ignites. I would also make sure it is timed correctly on the bottom end the chain may have come off when you took the cylinder off.
The "triple gasket" is really just a multi layer head gasket. The layers are meant to stay together and function as one gasket. so it is not meant for two or three head gaskets
Cam chain is too tight. Or the valves aren’t adjusted right
Facebook mechanics be like, Have you tried cleaning the carb buddy
Take your valves out and grind them so they seat properly using a valve grinding tool. Make sure your timings not out and it's on the compression stroke
The head gasket that want on it before is a Multi layered steel gasket
Did you lap the value in the head
U should give it a 2 stroke Yamaha motor and give it race plastics
once a valve has made contact with the piston the bent valve will deform the valve seat. you must seat every new valve weather it is a bent valve replacement or not. hope this saves you time in the future. :-)
Valves probably not closing all the way you should get some valve grinding compound and lap your valves.
You didnt lap your valves. Thats a must when reinstalling new valves (steel valves), and did you have your piston at TDC when you timed it? This would explain your issue of how there was not much gas on the plug at all.
Like I said in the last video, should reseat the values sense they are new, looking it up please.
And when you install rings on the piston you have to stagger the rings from one another and make sure you don't have a ring gap facing the intake or exhaust port
@astoriahittaz3627

Luke Combs that’s on a 2 stroke there is no exhaust or intake port on a 4 stroke
Make sure it’s timed right and make sure you’ve set the valves at the right spec
Pull the cap off the bottom end there is a mark on the crankshaft for top dead centrr
Check timing, and nect time before you loosen the cam chain tensioner and take the chain off mark it with a white marker that can easily be erased. Yes they already have timing marks but you'll never mess up your timing this way.
I couldn’t help but notice when you put the valves into the head you didn’t seat them into the head with valve lapping compound. Your valves may not be ceiling and leaking air either back through the intake or out the exhaust. If the head had two gaskets and ran good I would go ahead and do the same. Make sure you use proper torque specks so your head gasket doesn’t leak!
Timing or valve lash
Yes it is all one gasket so probably buy a new one for proper effectiveness and yes that choppy/Popping noise is exhaust not fully closed and yes the old using piston to find tdc can work to an extent but there is a slight dwell time so within about 2 or 3 teeth, the best way to get it right is to use tdc mark on head and tdc mark in magneto cover there should be a flat headed screw in discon side of magneto cover for easy sight access so you dont have to remove whole magneto cover
its a 4 stroke, could be 180 degree's off timing, firing on the exhaust stroke.
How started the joke about 180° it's mean. For one crank turn the cam are doing two turn, so you are in time every 180°. Second point if you timing is not right you are still opening intake first no matter what. To resolve his problem. First I didn't hear that he lap the valve, this is mandatory when you change valve. Second check timing marks and with a screwdriver set piston at tdc (put the screwdriver in the sparkplugs hole and make it rise at max level, and control that you have play in both valve or turn 180° repeat. Third spark could be out of time, if the stator rotate the spark might be late or in advance, some time the key on the crankshaft can shir
Possibly timing?
That's how the gaskets come man
Turn the camgear 1 tooth left then it shout run good i had the exact same problem
I think its because of the carb just hit it with a screwdriver. I said this last video, I know it will work lol😜
Since you took the exhaust off why didn't you fix the hole in the muffler
You got to make sure the timing on the bottom end is alined to it could had skipped a tooth when you took it off
All head gas keys are muli layed to hold the compression
Your timing chain probably fell off the bottom that's probably why it was so tight you should check it's the bottom if it's timed right
You need to lap the new valve or it won't seal right (low compression)
The gaskett won't affect the way it runs
I Guess The Problem Is The Gasket you put on .. You Install Only One Gasket on the Head Block and the Factory Was 3 Layered Steel Gasket it used for the gap between the Pistons and the Valve Gap is opened ..
Its supposed to run choppy, my 400 did the same until the rings seat. Just turn the idle up and let it do the heat cycles
Check your timing is set correctly and check your valve clearances
Might have it in time on the exhaust side instead of intake
Something with the timing?
You need to do a valve adjustment
fuel?
U need to re sit your new valve because it will not be sitting in the head right so air will be going out
Did you really not torque the head bolts ....... sheeeesh... hack

Torque is needed no matter how basic the motor mate its all to do with tolerance in materials during heat and cool material growth plus operation and gaskets but then again who doesn't want to be constantly fixing it or rebuilding the motor but then some dont have a clue as mig shows lol maybe he should watch some vids and learn gee rookies try fighting the motor instead of following the basics
its hard to tell but maybe you didnt seat the valve properly and its blowing alot of the compression out the exaust valve or maybe one of the compression rings moved. i dont think the head gasket has anything to do with it. ive had many quads with double metal gaskets stock that i only used one of those graphite looking gaskets and it made no diffrence
Probably a timing issue, and u should probably get another carb
❤️
All these people are over thinking it's most likely timing or carb issue had to adjust timing on my 400ex only took 30 minutes shouldn't take long for that thing
you have to time it back once at top dead center
It was happy till you got hold of it. 😂😂
I think that you just need to adjust the valve lash
You need to lash the new valves with compound
are you ever going to finish the street legal pit bike? its been 6 months since the last video. what happend?

Sounds like it is not getting enough fuel man try adjusting the air fuel mixture screw out 1/4 of a turn at a time
4 stroke swap?
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE My gocart spuders in idle i cleaned the Carb and tride to adjust the governor screw But it still spuders ….. HELP
It might be the carburetor paid apart and clean it I bet that's
I think your timing is off cause that’s the problem I had when my bike was sounding like that

Might gonna have to triple gasket it again
lap the valves pull the left side cover on the engine block check the timing mark on fly wheel there should be a t and a f line the t up with mark on case then check cam mark then it should run and get some repair manuals there gold when learning to repair your toys
You should get a blown dirt bike or quad and convert it to electric lol
Do a leak down test on the whole engine
There's gotta be a reason why it bent the valve??
It’s the rings you can’t put namura rings on a stock piston
Your timing is of put it to top dead center line it up and set your rocker arms
The exhaust valve is not closing and the piston is hitting it and sucking the air out
I would say your idle screw try start it with Choke ON
Sounds like ur timing is off 180 degrees migs
