My 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3 V6 muffler delete with cat

Комедия

Muffler delete, still have the stock cat
222,230 miles
Edit: No longer has cats as of 2020. Might post a video of that soon. Doesn’t really affect the sound that much.

Assuming you're not in the salt belt, it's pretty easy removing the muffler and if you know someone with a welder just weld in some new tubing.

It's actually really quiet at highway speeds. No drone or anything. I'm gonna put a smaller pipe on it so it pops more, which is the same setup I had on a 2 door 98 Blazer I used to have. Pretty much just loud when you get on the gas, which is what I want anyway.

Depending on the motor really. If it has the tbi system, it sometimes will have a intake leak, if it's the cpi system, you'll have spider injection failure, leaking intake gaskets, sometimes headgaskets, and depending on if they have been maintained or not, rod knock is the most common problem, and transmissions going bad. If it has the tbi I would go for it, it's a great motor and everything, only difference is the injection system and the amount of horsepower. The tbi distributes around 165hp. While the cpi has 195hp.

I've had two, one was a 98 2 door and my daily is the one in the video. Both cleared 240,000 miles, the one in the video still counting. Both have the spider injectors and never once failed me. I might have just gotten lucky since I bought both for $1,000 but I've never had any major mechanical issues with them and I've dogged the shit out of them. The 4.3 V6 and the 4L30E transmissions were definitely some of Chevys best alongside the 5.7 V8 and 700R4. It does depend on the model year though, I won't touch anything older than a 96 S10/Blazer simply because of the age of the electronics. One thing you will definitely have to keep an eye on is the fuel pump. Both Blazers I owned I had to change it out relatively quickly after buying them. Besides that, keep an eye on your oil and tranny fluid and hammer down!!!

Jonah Halbert Gas lines, brake lines, whole brake system really, intake gasket, alternator, water pump, wheel bearings, vacuum lines, VACUUM LINES, catalytic converter failure, o2 sensors, and little things along the way. I bought my 1998 blazer with 65,000 miles just over a year and a half ago and I’ve been replacing things ever since. Just keep the oil changed every 3000 miles or so and keep everything greased underneath and you’ll be in good shape.

If you are going to buy an older vehicle you need to invest in some tools and learn how to do the work your self. I learned how to do a lot of the work on KZread. You have to be a parts changer. If not you need to buy a newer vehicle. Unless you don't mind paying a mechanic upwards of a $100 per hour.
