    4:17 "Great, it's just some random guy." To me, this line actually speaks volumes. Peter Parker is meant to just be an average guy; someone you'd pass on the street without a second glance. It speaks to the whole idea that Spiderman could be anybody, and that any "random guy" can be a hero. Also many of the younger audiences hadn't seen the Raimi movies, so to them, Tobey Maguire may as well been a random guy. But to OG fans, he's one of the greatest hero of all.

    that's why Tobey's spidey is the best. He is not a superhero wearing multi-billion suits from Tony Stark, he is just a normal person dealing with his problems, and occasionally putting on a suit and trying to help people.

    The Spiderman that joined Miles Morales was clearly an even older version of Tobey-Peter, which explains why he was less fazed about being in another universe with another Spiderman - he's been through it before. On the sad side, it means him and MJ do eventually break-up. This also means that not only has Tobey met all three of the 'main' Spidermen, but also Spidergwen (among others).

    I genuinely love that they kept trying to reinvent Spiderman to make money but found a way to bring them into a multiverse for the enjoyment of fans who are older and who would have seen Toby years ago. Marvel had an ability to bring up emotions but this new phase with the shows is missing it. What a fantastic scene

  • @VA_Nightshade

    @VA_Nightshade

    3 ай бұрын

    I think what mainly cause this is large reasons. Covid fears, and uncertain goals. Marvel started churning out content when Covid hit, as it was revealed the heads got scared for the future of cinima. So, they spun out content to keep money flowing. It led to hit or miss films. Spider Man did fantastic, but that was largely done before Covid restrictions hit their highs. But you also got Balck Widow, Love and Thunder and Multiverse of Madness. Films i liked, but were largely panned. Then you got the show runs that were more hit or miss. She-Hulk was liked largely by comic fans, but fell off way more with fans of the films. What-If did well, and got green lit for a second season. Loki still standes as their ibggest show hit. Falcon and the Winter Soldier had solid ideas, good characters, and good pacing, only faltering in its last episode falling apart the more you disect Falcon's speech. As to not having a plan? Simple. They put themselves in a hard corner with Endgame. Where do you go after it? Its a good question. Your main cast of characters are retired. Tony and Widow are dead. Thor has gone soul searching. Hulk is crippled. Halkeye is retired and regrettful. And cap is old and dying. You need new heroes to lead the picture. Which means, new films to build them up, but also films to retire other big players, like the original Guardians. But that film got delayed because they fired James Gun (which a whole different disucssion), and the actors refused to do a Guardians film without him. All in all, I think they wanted Phase 4 to be a intro to new players like Riri and Shang Chi, but also wanted to focus on their big players like Thor and the Guardians. Sadly, because of this, and the content output, it made the overall pump ruin most people's fun and enjoyment. Not enough to kill Marvel or hero films, but enough to have people question Marvel's skill and vision. With Deadpool 3 coming out, and Kevin Feigi making it clear he wasn't happy with Phase 4, I think Phase 5 has a big shot of being up to standard again. Possibly with some recap moment in combing films like avengers and such, and you can see the next set of films being fun ad successful.

    Well, that's not really right - canonically, Spider-Man only meets MJ after he loses Gwen. She's the daughter/grand daughter? of a friend of Aunt Mays that she had been trying to introduce Peter to for ages, but he kept avoiding. Her famous line is something like , "Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!" (and indeed, he did - too bad Joe Quesada decided to ruin it) Anyway, if they had done another Garfield movie, I would have assumed they would have introduced Mary Jane. Tobey is faster, stronger and more experienced than the other Spiderman. Andrew had time to get that shot off but Tobey was faster. Even the way Tobey kicked the lizard off of him with one leg like he was ant showed the power levels between Tobey, Andrew and Tom. Tobey is on a whole nother level, which is why his villains did the most damage in the movie aside from Electro

    1 thing I love about this movie is how the Spidermen weren't pulled directly out of their last movies. They feel like they've grown organically the number of years since their last movies. Tobey Peter (2007) exudes a calmer demeanor of an adult. He's aged, but experienced and more confident. Andrew Peter (2014) is still goofy but a little subdued. You get the hint he's still maturing from relatively fresh rough patches. Really makes it feel like we're meeting REAL friends.

    This whole scene made me happy because it felt less like it was written or directed well, but more that Toby and Andrew still had it. Andrew Garfield acted as Peter Parker probably the most natural in how he spoke, reacted the most human out of all the on-screen Spider-men. Toby is from the age where they were still matching the comic style of dialogue, so he's got a more slow emphasis on his awkwardness and humor. It was nice to see them still able to pull off their own Peter Parkers again.

    This was the biggest moment in the theater in at least ten years. The Portals scene in Avengers Endgame was big, but this was BIG! Portals had ten years of buildup, this scene had twenty. I've been a Spider-Man fanatic all my life, so for me it was _forty-five_ years. This scene actually brought tears to my eyes, it was so wonderful to see these two men again, playing Peter Parker. This was a brilliant way to bring in the other Spidermans. Note that Andrew even finishes one of Tobey's sentences. It gives comic relief (Lola!) between two very sad scenes. I dare say the next one on the school roof is the saddest of the movie. Even in German and in Polish, the emotion comes through to the audience. Of course, that scene on the roof gives the Spidermans their purpose in the movie.
