I totally disagree about the mid mount mower deck. I use mine every week to cut my two properties. I take it off late fall every year. The diesel engines run forever if you take care of them so I don’t worry about hours on it heck I bought it to use ! You can always invest in a rear mount finish mower if you hate the mid mount that much? Lol 😂 Heck that Kubota diesel will outlast you! Lol 😂

I agree with you 100%. I purchased my BX23s last year in BC Canada. The dealer couldn't believe I didn't want a mower that was on sale at$300 off. It was still a $3,000 attachment. So, instead, this summer, I got a Kubota Z412 zero turn mower. Without a doubt, it was the best decision I ever made. The new seat is absolutely amazing. You can spend hours on it in perfect comfort.

When I bought my BX23S I did it 95% because I watched your videos. At that time you had and you used your mid mount mower. I had a riding lawnmower but I didn't have room for both the BX and riding mower. So I bought the bx with mid mount mower and I got the 3 point bagger (I'm not mad, you have a right to change your mind). The delay due to covid was horrid and 1.5 years after ordering it all, I got the mower and bagger. Then I was busy and didn't try it out for several months. I finally got time and hooked up the MMM and it was the biggest headache I have ever had. Most 3 point attachments are no fun, but the MMM was horrible. Over time I realized that lifting up the front tires helped a lot. So I leave the FEL on and lift up the front tires and slide it under and now it's manageable. The grass catcher/bagger is another pain point. I have put the mower deck on and off several times, but I have only put the bagger on once and taken it off once, but I want the clippings off the ground and it does the job pretty well. I also decided to buy another 3 point hitch so I could leave it "set" in the right position for the bagger. I bought the Pats quick attach for the 3 point and I like them, but the bagger will not work with them on, so essentially I had to buy another 3 point system and I now understand why you have to hook the bagger onto some stationary mounts (part of the installation process), and it's because the 3point rear linkage goes up and down with the mower and you can't stop the rear 3 point from moving. So it has to be forced into staying put or the pto shaft will not work. I agree it's one of the biggest pains for owning a BX but only having used it this one season (several times) I think I'll keep using it and curse it each time I have to (because it was A LOT of money). 😂

Having had four Kubota’s I believe you are correct. Kubota has thinned out the steel body, the wheels are terrible whether all plastic or steel and rubber, it’s difficult to grease and way way way to hard to get on and off. I had them fix my quick connect for the hydraulics and it worked great for about a year and then it started to leak again. I checked the connections and made sure it was all tight. Since then the leaks have stopped. I’m guessing because of use and vibration the fittings must slightly loosen over time.

I agree with you 100%. The mid-mount mower deck for my last BX got used exactly one time (just to confirm it worked okay when new). The remainder of the time I owned it was spent on a skid taking up space in my barn. I mow a bit over 4 acres, about a third hills, with a "green" 60" zero turn. Takes well less than half the time compared to the BX2680. When I traded for my LX, I did not waste money on another mid-mount mower. It was priced nearly the same as a mid-size zero turn. I found a used finish mower instead for a backup to my zero turn. Another interesting video. Thanks and keep having fun with your tractors.

In my opinion, all attachments you showed are great ! It all boils down to what a person needs or in some cases just wants. In my case where I mow the zero turn just isn’t safe or appropriate. I needed 4 wheel drive for some areas. My main use is mowing and rear attachments like a box blade or regular blade and any rear PTO equipment if I desired. I agree the deck isn’t easy to remove and reinstall but it is a quality deck unlike the box store mowers. In closing, it’s just whatever a person needs for the job or they just want to have it. Have a Blessed Day 🇺🇸TCB⚡️

Some like Bud, some like Miller. I disagree with a new ZT vs a new Mower deck. I agree with a good deal on a used hydro riding mower vs a new mower deck. The ZT also requires storage, maintenance and messing with belts. One the loader, why buy a 1/2 pickup when you need a 1 ton? For my 2 acres in north Florida, I wanted a small multi-tool, i.e. a riding mower that can be a miniature mule when required. BX1880 is it. Mows great, moves yards of dirt, pushes big stumps, moves chopped down trees. I did get a free hydro riding mower I use for rough mowing, and a steep ditch. I enjoyed your review of the other implements. 👍

The mid mount mower deck for the BX as you said, it a PITA to take on and off. However, we just learned a way to take the mount mower on and off that is easy. We do have a John Deere Z turn that we have owned since 2010. That Z turn has mowed a lot of the property around us. However we purchased it used, and have beat the machine up quite a bit. Right now the Z turn needs major work, and we are putting the mid mount back on the BX. We are holding out for an electric Z turn as that is the future and we are 75% electric in our home, one car with the tractor etc the only machine that is a combustion engine. We also have an eye out fr when Kubota or John Deere sells an electric tractor and will invest in that. But for now will fix the turn and use both the BX and B2650 to mow. Love your videos.

A zero turn won’t hang on the side of the hills. I’ve tried green ones, orange ones and yellow ones without success. A standard box store riding mower lasts about two years and they’re shot. Everyone’s situation is different. I have back issues and was mowing about 1 acre of uneven and rough lawn. Needless to say I dreaded mowing the lawn. I was looking at the Toro zero turn with the myride suspension. $7000 Canadian and the salesman telling me it should last 10 years, I decided to go with a new BX2380 with a 54” mid mount mower and front loader. With the high back reclining seat, tilt steering, large turf tires and reduced mowing time makes mowing my lawn enjoyable. Its not as fast or smooth as a zero turn, however, I am now able to level my lawn with topsoil using the bucket as well as numerous chores around my property and for plowing my 130’ driveway in the winter. I’ll see how I do moving snow this Winter with the loader and bucket but will eventually invest in a snowblower . I enjoy watching your channel. 😀

I certainly agree with you. In my own situation, I use a flail mower on my tractor for almost my entire lawn and I like it way better than my belly mower. My belly mower based on the instructions is suppose to take around 5 mins to install. YA RIGHT!!!! I can put the flail mower on in 5 minutes with obsoletely no issues. Sure going around beds and stuff can be an issue and that's why I always have a lawn mower and a good Weed cutter around for those jobs. My flail also adds a bit a weight to my tractor when I'm using the loader. Hey, I used a belly mower for 15 years. Like you said in the video, it works and it works well but It's a complete pain to put on even when your use to it and its a pain to store not to mention the upkeep required to keep it running well. I have a huge lawn area to cut on our homestead with a surrounding forest that keeps wanting to take over my lawn. I understand that those with smaller lawn areas may find a flail mower just a tad to big and may settle for something a little more adequate for their own circumstances and that's where I totally agree with you that there are much better solutions than a belly mower. In the end. it all depends on your applications and the best solution for your sub compact tractor. Great video and lots of fun. Keep them coming!

I’ll have to disagree on the worst attachment. But I purchased my BX primarily for mowing. Nothing else was holding up to the hills (transaxle failures)and a zero turn is dangerous in the places we have to mow. Because you can’t steer them out of a skidding situation. I do get your point though. I gave 230 hours on my BX and 200 of them is probably from mowing. Take care!

My tractor doesn’t have a mid mount option. I have a 6th brush hog and a 6ft finish mower. I use them the absolute most. My least favorite attachment is the landscape rake. It would be different if we had a riding arena to maintain (that’s future plans) but it has been useless for our rural property.

Agree BUT with a steep yard a 2wd riding mower will not work. The BX2350 manages the grade just fine and without tearing up the lawn. Since its under .75acre it can be mowed in about an hour. The mid mount mower is a HST fan guard so its seldom removed, for running through the woods.

Everything you said is 100% valid, a tractor is not a mower, the same way you wouldnt plow the driveway with a zero turn, or till the garden. I have a B, not a BX, and in hindsight the belly mower was indeed not a good choice. It's been sitting on the barn floor on its furniture leg dollies for a couple of years now, while I use my somewhat undersized zero-turn to do the mowing. The main reason for this is that I tend to be using 3-point attachments a lot, and they don't play nice with the mower deck, so I'd be constantly taking it off and putting it back on (and doing the reverse with the tiller or box blade), which is a pain. Shoulda skipped it and gone for either a brush hog or a flail mower (plus a bigger & better zero-turn for the lawn areas).

I agree that in yours and many others use case, the MMM is a waste of money. Then irony is I bought my 2380 specifically and primarily to mow after my JD ZT blew the engine. I wanted a reliable diesel mower that could do light dirt work and that would replace my snowblower. A 2380 with the mmm and loader checked all the boxes like no other machine did. My only regret was not ponying up the (Frankly insane) $6500 for the heated and cooled cab. Other than that, I'll probably be putting a flail mower on it next season and seeing how I like the cut vs the MMM. I have a ton of sticks and branches fall every year and I'd just as soon mulch them with a flail vs dinging up my MMM. Who knows, maybe next year I'll be agreeing with your Worst Attachement choice but for a totally different reason lol Happy Tractoring!

I agree... but also disagree. For most yards a zero turn is perfect. My property, there is a number of places I need to use 4wd. We tried my neighbors zero turn on one hill, it wouldn't climb it, tried side hill... it slides down sideways. I cut straight up and turn around , cut straight down. (in low range and 4wd it just feels safer!) But I also have a 54" instead of a 60". I leave it on almost all the time in the summer with loader work and backhoe work. To each their own... still love my BX (And finally bought a cab!!! Original Tractor Cab going on shortly)
