it's lacking severaly. Micro-management games would be boring to most people, but it can be fun. This one even fail at that. why do you buy those machines? what are their capacities? A good micro-management simulator would let you choose the size of the hole to dig (larger hole mean that you can put bigger machines inside to build fondations, but it's a the cost of more time and money wasted to dig it, etc...) hire the correct contractors for building! Don't hire Joe the lone guy Plumber to do the piping ot a 80 stories skycraper... etc... This game lack too much content. It's as if whoever made it had a core idea of a game, coded it, and it functionnal... and quit with merely 10% of the game content put in.

Mark, I was in the construction industry for a while, the reason why you needed to dig a hole that deep and big is because it probably wasn’t virgin soil meaning it’s unstable because it’s not compact and because of what your building and the weight of it it probably needs a certain grade of fill( fill being a dirt gravel mixture used around foundations) so that it won’t tip over. Also excavating the whole would also allow city utilities to be re routed to the building. And then the piles and foundation would be laid in. Which is what supports the building. And then from there on it’s the slow process of building the thing. From the looks of it you were taking on the role of a project major but it more seemed like you were the owner of the building. Most owners don’t actually know what’s going on and they sit there going why are they digging a big hole just to fill it up again that seemed like a waste of money., hopefully you see this and this helps you understand

Hi Mark! I used to work in underground construction utilities. Your "company" most likely dug that big hole to install building pipes, cables, water and gas mains, and to make the ground level. Not to mention when you build or dig anything new you have to make sure your stuff isn't going on top of something dangerous or old that could destroy your new building. Hope that helped. Considering the kinds of construction and planning I've seen, digging up the ground that has the floor plan, and fill it with the right ground composition that can support buildings. Some locations have ground composition that causes buildings to sink, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, or the more notorious buildings in China.

I recently started city exploring with the satellite view in Google maps, and I LOVE finding constructions sites, precisely because of the giant deep hole buildings need (they look really dark and mysterious from above). Is it true another reason you need them is to reach actual "rock" so that you can build over something stable? The concept of a really deep dark hole with machines breaking down the earth seems really cool for some reason.

They're paying him far more than he paid in the first place, given he makes over $9 million a year on YT from ad revenue (at 6 cents per ad shown on a video of his). But don't worry, he was actually one of the high level content creators who, like PewDiePie, argued against folks who didn't get have at least 1000 subs and 50000 views per month, being paid anything at all from the ads shown on their content. Meaning he feels only those deemed worthy by subs and views per month are worthy of adsense revenue. So you have Mark to thank for you not qualifying for getting any revenue from your own videos.

I love how Mark tries to make sense of these games. He doesn’t outright call them “stupid” or “bad”, he tries to make sense of it, and then calls it stupid.

"I don't know what THEY'Re doing... ugh-OH, you're fiLLING IT BACK I-?!?!?!?!?!-We jUst DUg thAT OUt!!!!" I felt this in my SOUL. It's exactly what I felt multiple times over the course of TWO YEARS watching government-hired crews dig a lake on my parents' property T-T So naturally I rewatched a dozens times and have thoroughly laughed my sides off XD This is literally what it's like to watch construction from the outside: 11/10 accuracy; 0/10 enjoyment. 11:42, for myself if no one else cares, because i will almost definitely come back to here this again.... many times XD

I once had a flight delayed for six hours, and waiting for said flight was more entertaining than watching this game-play.

Right after he said "here's skyscraper simulator, enjoy!" A commercial about insurance that showed a bunch of skyscrapers in a city came up and I actually thought mark edited it in.

Mark: "And so here is skyscraper simulator..." **WENDYS AD PLAYS**

Idk if it's still on steam but I once played a game called 'mountain', and all it was was watching a mountain grow in real time. No controls, just watching a mountain grow. It was great.

I thought so, too. Since some places are so unplayable people have to noclip, doesn't even have subtitles, missing textures, huge maps with no direction, crashes a lot, and COSTS 25 DOLLARS

After crunching some numbers, I've deduced that the total amount of time it took Mark to finish that skyscraper, if he were to have done it all in normal speed, would be around 5.66 hours. ow

As someone who has a bit of experience with 3D design I can also say that the menu where you select the location of the skyscraper is most likely just a displacement map applied to plane a which was then put on top of a cube as shown by some of the buildings going off the edge of the cube.

I'm not even saying this as a joke, I actually started yawning and eventually fell asleep on the SkyScraper Sim.

When reading comments about the game is more exciting than playing the actual game.

be honest, a game where u are a skyscraper that would just fall over and cause a bunch of destruction, where u get more points for the more destruction u make, and u can make upgrades would be a great game, NOT THIS BULLSHIT also, the game i mentioned (idk if it exists, prob does) if it does, i would hope its kinda cartoony, otherwise it would be kinda reminiscent of something horrible that i will not mention

The hole was for the stabilization of the foundation of the building. Digging up the land and redistributing the soil dug up compacts the ground to a firm base to build a solid foundation upon. Lest you make a Leaning Tower of Pisa kind of deal.
