Me too! He really is a sweetheart, and puts so much money into doing these, buying state of the art POS systems, staff for makeovers, cameramen, etc. Granted a lot of the thing they use to redo a restaurant are donated from the manufacturers, but still he does and spends a TON. That chef Andy had some serious "contempt face" going on. You could tell he obviously had disdain and hatred for Gordon, any customer who sent a plate back and all the ex-customers on the boat! And the way he treated his wife was inexcusable. I think he had just as much hatred for her. I'm glad he's calmed down, but a leopard doesn't change his spots. I don't get the physical assault vibe towards his wife, more of a, if he's getting too much critique and heat he will snap and assault the person who was the last drop that made the barrel overflow. However, he is definitely mentally abusive towards his wife and his staff, that's definitely true.

Compared to the other owners on the show, Lisa wasn't even being an ass she was just genuinely clueless to the fact that her food (and even the restaurant itself to an extent) kind of sucked. I've been around people like her my whole life and i can say for a fact that she definitely doesn't think of herself as a perfect princess, folks like her that just power through everything and are completely blindsided when they finally run into something they cannot excel at with sheer brains and willpower. She was shown her mistakes, given a different course of action and took it in stride. Her glaring flaws were that she was trying to run the place like any other commercial business and genuinely didn't know shit about the practices in her own restaurant (food storage, the dynamics between the cooks etc) flavors, food, and how vital they are to a restaurant's success. edit: The staff's reaction to the new system was everythig

Love the stages of the this show: 1. Owner is in denial/oblivious to issues of restaurant 2. Owner hates Ramsey after his honest assessment of the situation 3. Owner listens and admits there’s issues with the restaurant 4. Restaurant starts to function like a good restaurant 5. Owner loves Ramsey and doesn’t want him to leave It’s a simple tale ❤

Evidently, as we see in almost every episode that the people get it at the end and apologize and it works out, so it was worth it and he did the right thing anyway

Ignoring that no normal restaurant would've allowed they entire kitchen staff to come back after what they did. Really... they were stressed? From what? Actually pulling their weight for once? Secondly, she's one of the only few owners that actually listened to Gordon and is still open. Apparently, she even owns multiple locations, if the comments are anything to go by. Buckling under pressure and *gasp* crying (?!) one fucking time doesn't make you weak nor incapable of running a business. Ignoring that, amongst the few hotels and restaurants that remained open after Gordon left, there were plenty of men that cried too. Either because of the pressure and/or out of gratitude. Additionally, they tend to have a major ego problem and are rarely susceptible to change, while she listened pretty quickly and only really lacked an understanding of her own business + the awful kitchen staff. If you think real men don't cry... you don't know what a real man is. A fact that's most likely true, considering that you're probably two years old, a pick-me girl or straight up delusional/stuck in the past century.

"lovely boss" means intimate lovely 😂 The 2nd "boss" is too full of himself. The attitude is just, bonkers. The 3rd owner and father can dig a hole inside a stone oven to cook their half-baked brains. This got me watching at past 2 in the morning until 5AM. 😂

Lisa... in the beginning came out as a princess to me too... she bragged about how she got the restaurant and how it was not a gift. But in reality it was a gift, If she didn't pay her loan(with the restaurant in bad shape, she wasnt going to pay her loan), her dad had to. But I was impressed on how she handled the kitchen, she knew nothing abt cooking. But quickly learnt the basics and started asking why something is done in a particular way and not an another way. That changed my perspective of her

@@swapnilmankamegood to know she made it. I was rooting for her by the end of that episode. Nothing wrong in not knowing, but it takes a big person to admit he/she doesn't know and learn.

Honestly, Gordon Ramsay is a true hero of the people, trying to help people's resturants all over from falling completly apart. Some might think he is harsh, but he really does make a change out there for people who need it, for owners, employees and customers.

The lady from Anna Vincenzo's is the classic Italian daddy's princess. Every single "Italian" restaurant in the US are the same, old immigrants who put their kids into a trade that is not for them and the coping mechanism is bitching, whining and be aggressive, then crying. Italian life is like a Mexican telenovelas. I was born in Italy, at the age of 30 I moved out of the country and it has been the happiest decision I have ever taken in my entire life.

I lived and worked in Italy for 10 years and some of the best food I've ever eaten was prepared by Italian people in restaurants or at home. In my experience, Italians were not as you describe them - at least no more than elsewhere in Europe.

@matasha8038 if you have lived in Italy for 10 years, you REALLY should know how much Italians love drama and how much old parents think of their children as children forever. So many men and women keep the family business only because it is expected of them. The successful ones are rare, because very few know how to gently nudge their kids into the business and make them develop a passion for it instead of giving it for granted.

The Lido episode is my favorite. A young person who really was in over their head. Seeing Gordon mentor her was very satisfying. Andys wife seemed super lovely, he seemed like a raging ego maniac. He deserved a punching for talking to her like that.

you know, most people who claim to use 'tough love' are really just using the term as an excuse for their abuse. But Chef Ramsey? in this one's opinion, he exemplifies what tough love ACTUALLY is. He can be confrontational and even abrasive at times, but he knows how not to go too far, and if he does, he immediately course corrects. And most of all, he shows genuine compassion under it all. He needs to be more firm and confrontational to break through to the often exceptionally arrogant chefs, and once he does he works to improve the place. After all, if they think they're doing everything right already, the chef'll just go back to their old ways, if they even pretend to change in the first place

I doubt Andy ever worked in a Michelin restaurant in Paris. I have never been served raw meat in Paris except when ordering steak tartare. There's nothing snobbish about being a bad chef. The only place in Europe where I ever got a food poisoning was at a Michelin restaurant in England.
