The thing that really gets to me about Marc and Lisa is that Lisa is joking about Marc sleeping on the couch so much he's left a dent but the man works 10 to 12 hours a day in a hot kitchen, 7 days a week..... if anyone deserves to sleep on a real goddamn bed, it's him!! It's painful to me how little she cares about him and how callous she is, and how much he loves her in return!!!

I sleep on the couch. When a dent to my skinny ass i just get another couch. The couch is more comfortable then some bed. Buy a nice couch with arm rests that are like big soft pillows. I have been in jail and there i was in solitare and slept on cement without even a blanket or pillow. Also was homeless sleeping on the cold, wet had dirt. But ya i have 2 beds and still prefer the couch.

To this day i let my gf fill her plate first then i eat everything thats left. My fault for not making enough food to bring home for all. My wife and kids deserve to be full, i can easily eat peanut butter off a spoon and beans from a can.

Barefoot Bob's closed in December 2016 and no reason was given as to why they closed. Barefoot Bob's dropped a lot of Gordon Ramsay's suggestions and changes after he left and they went back to their tiki theme. Despite this, the restaurant still lasted for more than four years after the Kitchen Nightmares makeover.

That's why her brother was pissed because he made crazy money because drunk people tip like crazy he didn't care that the restaurant was failing he just wanted his money. Believe me I know, ive know many many bartenders and aspiring bartenders its a party that you get paid as much as a doctor doing

@iliketotroll250 must be different in different places because I live in Louisville, Kentucky was a bartender at one of the busiest bars in Louisville and the job was the best and easiest job I ever worked, I only worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's and still made 2000 weekly minimum, one of the bartenders was pocketing money that wasn't his for the entire 6 years he worked there but the owner still decided to fire all 6 of us and hire a whole new crew and even with a recommendation from the owner because he knew I wasn't in on it and 10 years of experience in bars I still couldn't get another bartender job, there was literally waiting list with hundreds of bartenders waiting to be hired at every bar. Yea some people aren't cut out for the fast paced work but I've worked as a fastfood worker, construction worker, server, bouncer ect and the only job that was as easy and paid as much was being a server. No offense but when I was a bartender and a server I felt like I was grossly over paid. I'd serve firefighters, police, EMS, and even some doctors and they would tell me I made significantly more then them

"The scary part is- I thought all our food was good," - Actually the best thing you could say in Kitchen Nightmares. Accepting Ramsey's criticism immediatelly, before even hearing it from himself. Props to both the owner and the server for that one. For taking the criticism seriously, and for the server to pass back honest feedback to the chef, even forcing him to taste the food of her own accord.

It’s obvious that Lisa doesn’t care about Mark or the restaurant. She’s just leeching on him, you can’t see any love for Mark in her eyes. Probably cheating on him with someone, that would explain those vacations and working two days a week. Feel sorry for the poor guy struggling through everything on his own. Hopefully, things have gotten better for Mark.

To those wondering: the restaurant closed in December 2016. Shortly after Gordon left, Lisa reverted back to the old menu and changed the decorations back. Mark tried to make it work and the boost from Gordon's visit kept them going with the improved kitchen routines, but they were eventually forced to close. They remain a couple.

Marc's a jackpot. Gotta respect his dedication even though things were obviously lacking here and there. Hard working guy.

I have never felt so bad for any owner than I have for Mark. After that first big chewing out by Ramsey you can see the devastation on him, and then when Gordon walks out, Mark's first reaction is "I'm gonna go clean". Most of the time it has to be screamed at them or threatened that Gordon won't come back until they do it. So even after that heart breaking moment for Mark he puts his head down and carries on. Oh and that jerk off of a brother getting upset after the revamp, dictionary definition of a cry-baby. Why is there always someone in these restaurants that thinks "But we'll lose all our old business if we change" when you are literally a sinking ship, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. Absolutely LOVE that Gordon wouldn't shake his hand.

To address your second point, it’s usually denial, or pride. Most people don’t want to admit what they were doing before wasn’t working because it threatens their worldview, or as I said earlier, their own ego. However that’s what makes the difference between a successful person and someone who fails. Successful people learn from mistakes and take criticism on the chin and build upon it, people who fail lack self awareness and would rather die on stupid hill than ever admit they were wrong.

Editing is king. You'd have to watch all the raw footage to draw your own conclusions. This is a drama series, edited to drive a narrative; Ramsay isn't a marriage counsellor, he isn't a wizard, do you think every city he goes to can do overnight renovations just like that, it takes weeks/months of planning; he's a businessman who created an entertaining series about supposedly saving businesses. It is entertaining though, won't take that away.

Of course Lisa was happy to see an accountant, gives her more time for the beach and martinis and vacations!! Lisa was there ONLY because Gordon was there.

For those that would like to know: Apparently, the restaurant closed down in December 2016. Shortly after the episode was done, they reverted back to the old menu and the old deco. Yelp reviews were mixed as well, with an average of around 2.5 stars.

This is one of the better examples of the show being reality TV I think, Gordon’s evaluations of the food are fair, but he is needlessly rude when gathering people to tell them about it, and escalates the argument far more than the sous chef does

I only can imagine how bad the food was there, if Ramsay literally just licked the crystal ball without any sign of disgust.

Marc said right at the start "i'm not a trained chef but I think I can hold my own". So he's a cook only. Trained at a culinary school is more than cooking. I'ts butchering and learning about the cuts for flavour and economy. How to keep your ingredients fresh, how to price your dishes correctly so that you know the percentage you should make on each dish. Time management and serving etc. At least when you learn these skills you have the very basics you need. Most Chefs get years of real experience before they get their own place. Marc is a lovely person but it's not enough.

Gordan is actually a super chill cool guy. Very nice. I had the privilege of meeting him . Great guy

Barefoot Bob’s closed for good in December 2016, almost exactly four years after the Barefoot Bob’s episode aired on TV. Well, a lot of the old customers who knew this restaurant and staff for a few years say that the bathrooms were always filthy, the food service horrible, and the food was never fresh but old tasting and frozen. Within months the restaurant reverted back to its Tiki original look and frozen food menu. I guess Lisa's brother won out in the end and the restaurant lost out in the end too.

Petition for a "where are they now" series. Not about the restaurants but about the people / couples / families and where their lives went afterwards.

His wife is awful. One of his waitresses cared more about his well-being than she did. He was cleaning the kitchen with his staff and she was texting 🥴🙃

I truly believe half the people on this show think Gordon is going to come in say how underrated they are and magically everyone and there brother will start flocking to them and it’s all just bad marketing not a lack of realistically priced and sustainable options on the menu that can be prepared to order or a dirty facility with no atmosphere.

So beautiful what Chèf Gordon reaches, he is such a good soul, and knows exactly what to do injust any situation, lots of love and light to you all🤌🫶💫

They way Gordon shuts Robby down is absolutely GOLD…

My absolute favorite part of these episodes is when he tears apart their walk ins 😭😭😭😭😭😭 there's alwaaaaaays cross contamination & he is always appalled 😭😭😭😭

Barefoot Bob's closed in December 2016 and no reason was given as to why they closed. Barefoot Bob's dropped a lot of Gordon Ramsay's suggestions and changes after he left and they went back to their tiki theme.

The husband basically carried that whole place alone, but still some how remained a hardworking, humble guy. The wife is lucky to have him. (She improved so fast though, I'll give her that! I just hope she stays that way.) ...Also, wtf was her brother complaining about? "Gordon comes here and ruins our restaurant"? Excuse me, OUR restaurant? Are you the owner?

When the waitresses shows more compassion to him than his own wife, that pretty much shows one of the biggest problems why the place was going down

"never heard anyone complain about to much lobster" but hes not a normal costumer who comes to eat, his job is to get the resturant up an running makin a profit. so obviously he complains if a resturant gives out "free" food (more than they need)

They were correct because they'd been hanging around the restaurant for weeks and had likely worked out what needed to change, like any semi-intelligent person would. Psychics aren't real, only scam artists are.

I feel terrible for Marc; he's forced to take responsibility for the restaurant at the start of this episode because Lisa won't do anything, and because of that he gets blamed for everything. You can see the heartbreak in his eyes, and I hope that he's doing better relationship and career wise today

Gordan exposing and catching the "Psychic" in a lie was the best part.🤣😆

I just love Gordon Ramsay, he is amazing man with very smart to fix restaurant to become better modern to make owners, servers and chefs so excited

His wife's dragging him down. She's not even helping with the cleaning! She's on her fcking phone! The servers even feel more for Marc than his own wife.

Oh I miss this episode. I love the waitress she's so honest lmao. Still dunno who would eat at a place called BAREFOOT BOBS. Sounds like bunions

He kicked the customer out. After a relaunch there was an old karen who insisted her food was disgusting even though it had been checked twice (once by gordon himself) and redone twice. She was getting very rude with the waitstaff until ramsey literally came up and told her she was full of shit and a pathetic waste. Kicked her out.

Honestly I saw where he was coming from specifically with the decorations. The place lost its charm and became some sort of hotel breakfast bar.

Idk why , but I loved Marc literally from the beginning. Very humble and hard working dude. One of those people who actually deserve success

They lasted 4 more years but when people don't keep up the good food and theme that Gordon suggests, they are usually done. I don't know why these owners never understand that. The ones that survive are usually the ones that listened to everything that Gordon said and kept the food fresh, the place clean and the menu small.

The biggest red flag ever when your supposed to be wife goes on vacations. She is not alone ofc she got someone to pay for her vacations= she fr cheating on Marc which sucks because Marc deserves better than that
