The Worst Acted Scenes In Movie History

Ойын-сауық

What makes a good scene or good acting is subjective. When actors go in for an audition, they may feel like they rocked it, but their fate lies in the hands of a casting director who might make their pick based on an entirely different reason altogether.
However, there is a difference between great acting and bad acting. A camera catches everything, and inauthentic behavior or an actor trying too hard can be quite obvious.
A production can have a great script with a huge budget to work with but it can all come tumbling down by a scene ruined with bad acting. Here are the worst acted scenes in movie history.

I think Wiley Wiggins should be excused from this list. Constant awkward tics (like hair straightening and hover hands while posing for pics) are the norm for kids that age, especially when they're trying to fit in with the older kids. It's a self-conscious age where you're suddenly hyper-aware that you don't know wtf you should be doing with your hands.

Wrath means "extreme anger" the purpose was to juxtapose the calm demeanor of Somerset and John Doe across from the rage and loss of Mills. If Brad Pitt played it calm it wouldnt have expressed the sin of Wrath, which is what Detective Mills devolves into by this part of the scene.

You're obviously a critic that has no familiarity with what constitutes bad acting. Pitt was fantastic in Se7en. You're comparing Stewart's response with the response in the book as if the director didn't play a role in that scene, or as if any movie ever matches the book it's made after word for word. Your criticism is the equivalent of saying Jack Nicholson's a "bad actor" based on the sole premise that Kubrick's creative license with "The Shining" didn't adhere to King's book. That logic is absurd. The scene in "Dazed and Confused" was down to directing, a responsibility the director acknowledges. That fact aside, people do have nervous ticks. The kid was nervous in the scene. The frequent nose grabs, though annoying as most nervous ticks usually are, had no affect whatsoever on pulling my mind out of the story as bad acting would do. As for any other criticism you may've offered, I can't say... cause I stopped watching this shit 5 minutes in.

Agreed. People want to focus on Michael Gambon's inaccurate portrayal of Dumbledore but the director and screen writers both could've told him he was playing him too aggressively in the first couple movies and didn't. Maybe he finally read the books and saw how calm Dumbledore truly is and changed up his portrayal since he was much better in the last few movies.

Still, quoting Rotten Tomatoes is like quoting Donald Trump on how to treat women. Film critics are individuals. Not scientists. Giving film critics any credibility above the expression of an individual's opinion is dishonest at best. There are very few film critics I've seen in my 58 years who have anything more to offer than a glorified opinion. Most film critics bring personal baggage to their reviews. You can almost smell it.

I love how at the beginning you say these performances are so terrible that all subjectivity goes out the window... and then you proceed to get called out with people disagreeing with you in the comments. I'm pretty sure you have no idea what bad acting or even good acting is. Good video.

Looper, you're out of your loopy minds criticizing Pitt in Seven. His reaction was spot on PERFECT for the hot-headed, immature, rookie detective that the movie established. It's his behavior regarding the box that gives the scene so much weight as it's contrasted with John Doe and Morgan Freeman and the movie's entire set-up for that moment. The good, yet immature detective got unwittingly played. And his response makes you almost like the horrorific John Doe. It's actually a brilliant contrast.

my bf saw dracula for the first time a few months ago and his mouth fell open and his eyes slid to me and asked ''is this serious or a comedy that missed the mark?'' from keanu's accent to winona ryders accent to sadie frost chewing the scenery off like it held the secrets to life, even richard e grant was hamming it up to the tenth power- he turned it off after the warewolf got barebacking sadie frost and sat silent fro a few seconds before bursting out laughing

The list is bullshit without the inclusion on Tommy Wiseau and most of the actors from The Room. The movie is so laugh/cringe inducing that you could get 6 pack abs from watching it every other day.

I understand your reasoning for almost all of these. The one I have a little problem with is the Brad Pitt one. I really dont understand the critique on that one, always thought it was one of his most powerful performances. Especially when hes fighting the urge to kill the guy, the look in his eyes. He was totally lost in the character in that moment.

although it is contrived in plenty of ways, i feel pitt captured the essence of how brutal and surreal that experience would be. i think pitt conveys the sickening feeling/reality sinking in in a really particular and peculiar way which succeeds. i love that scene and think it works perfectly for the movie. its also iconic in spite of its faults as well. in a good way.

David Fincher wasn't an industry giant when he directed Se7en - he was the guy whose career was nearly dead after his debut with Alien 3. Pitt's performance is Fincher's responsibility since he's the director - if he didn't like what Pitt was doing, he should've, you know DIRECTED him in a different direction. Considering they worked together again on Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and the upcoming World War Z sequel, Fincher doesn't seem to have a problem with Pitt's talents.

Seven, a scene ruiner? What in the hell are you talking about. That was a very powerful scene, and Pitt nailed it. That role made him a superstar. And judging from the majority of the comments, I'm not wrong for saying that. Let's see you act that scene.
