Majority of the time, technique beats strength until it reaches a point where the opponent is just too big to do the usual techniques that are used in an average match. This is why weight classes exist in fighting sports especially in striking. For grappling, wrestling, etc. you might get away with like 2 weight classes of difference with technique but beyond that it's going to be increasingly difficult as weight and size becomes huge factor in victory.

One thing ive learned watching big dudes fight on the ground, is that its hard for them to use their legs well. Tie up the arms and they lose almost all mobility. The pure size actually limits movement entirely. Not saying it would be an easy fight by any means, just pointing out what Ive noticed.

no way guys, it's almost like weight classes were made for a reason. No but really, a trained fighter is usually gonna beat a bodybuilder, there are exceptions of course but you need to take the extremes to find them. Also I think this is just not a good match-up for BJJ, massive guys like Thor are impossible to grapple properly after all but if you added to that any form of striking he'd probably be screwed since bodybuilders tend to be quite slow at punching and kicking.

Yea if he had 2 or 3 years of solid training under his belt and they were actually going at it… probs Thor. You gotta remember that Thor is probably very cautious with his size and isn’t going 100% because first he doesn’t know really what he’s doing and he doesn’t wanna hurt anybody because of his weight. Even if somebody says that they’re trained, but they’re much smaller than you, it’s really awkward because you’re afraid of crushing them or messing up and potentially elbowing them in the face, or headbutting them or kneeing him in the balls somehow. Both of them are not going all out . This is obviously meant to be friendly. Also Thor has a really healthy ego. He’s not trying to prove anything in this practice. Also, remember, you don’t win in sparring or rolling. You win in competitions.

The first minute, minutes at best, the strongman completely overpowers just about any grappler. After that, he gasses out, does not know how to effectively utilize said strength and loses.
