    Ain't no way he is a legit blue belt, as someone who practices bjj he looked absolutely clueless and it's not something I would expect from a blue belt. Was thinking the same thing like no real blue belt would’ve just let him do a backflip with head control. I was taught within the first few practices if you have control of your opponent head you can full dictate where the rest of their body goes it bothered me how he was in the winning position and still got clipped. Also there was no need for him to lie abt his weight.

    Blue belt is only one up from white belt and would most certainly struggle with somebody who is stronger and heavier than they are. Especially a new blue belt. The only good blue belts you will find are ones that are a month or 2 away from getting a purple belt. Someone in my gym even calls blue belts attendence belts as if you regularly show up for about a year chances are you will get a blue belt

    @@Grifith_111 that is simply not true. Unless you are just an absolute unit like Eddie Hall or something. Then yeah sure. But your normal run of the mill body builders won't beat someone with actual skill. With no rules skill would win. You forget that they can also fight dirty. In this video you even saw them struggle to simply just take down a brown belt who was clearly not trying and going easy.

    Looool honestly I was beating blue and purple belts in my first week of jui jitsui BUT I had some wrestling experience and used to regularly watch KZread videos to learn moves. I was a good athlete (could dunk at 5 9). But yeah it is possible. I haven't watched this video but not every belt is the same. Belts are mostly about time spent training honestly. I've known guys who've played basketball for 15 years and still suck. Time is one factor in expertise but there's so many other important ones.

The hard part is doing it for a 5 minute roll. Most guys starting off gas out within 20-30 seconds. That's the main first challenge.

    Nah, that's pretty standard. Probably a new blue belt and that strength difference is a huge factor. I'm a long time blue belt and I've had guys with no training but were ungodly strong make it a stale mate during a roll. It happens especially if the blue belt isn't very athletic like myself.

  • @arigumora

    @arigumora

    Ай бұрын

    @@DontbeanNPC with all do respect I think it depends on the gym and how willfully the coach is giving out blue belts. I think this guy might have some wrestling experience which would make it a little evened out but even still blue belts should be submitting true newbies pretty consistently regardless of strength difference (and these guys are very similar size). Me as a one yea white belt went up against hella huge body builders stronger than me and tossed them around and submitted them pretty effortlessly just cause they were new to rolling. Also just watching them roll I was pretty surprised by the blue belts lack of technique here, no back takes no hooks no side control pressure and alot of things that just look like two guys wrestling eachother, not like a BJJ blue belt against a noob

  • @DontbeanNPC

    @DontbeanNPC

    Ай бұрын

    @@arigumora after watching it again, you may be right. I do think the "bodybuilder" does have some wrestling experience too and the blue belt was lacking in a lot of things that should be already ingrained by then like you pointed out. Still though, I could see a brand new blue belt having trouble with someone that's 30 pounds heavier and especially if they have wrestling experience over the blue belt. That makes it pretty even, in my opinion, but also depends on how long that blue belt has been training too. It took me almost 2 years to make blue but I know some gyms are promoting to blue belt in like 6 months to a year. That's too fast unless that person is able to train full time all day long but let's face it, most people aren't BJ Penn or Gordon Ryan.

  • @arigumora

    @arigumora

    Ай бұрын

    @@DontbeanNPC yep I agree wit u 100%. Even when I was a greenhorn white belt I could give some blue belts some trouble just because I have decent intuition and watched a million KZread videos, but they were prolly just letting me work and were a lil surprised. But this dude looks like he doesn’t fully know what he’s doing, and def wrestling experience or significant strength difference can even it out. Also just to give the benifit of the doubt but I feel like skill gap deference is more apparent in the Gi when there’s a million more grips and lapel chokes to fuck ppl up way quicker, sometimes no Gi is just more of a slippery free for all at lower levels

  • @DontbeanNPC

    @DontbeanNPC

    Ай бұрын

    @@arigumora exactly. No gi is much different and more about speed and strength like traditional Japanese Jiujitsu rather than skill and technique like gi Jiujitsu because of the grips and friction of the gi slowing everything down. There's a lot of little things like that that have to be taken into account when judging someone's skill level and again, a new blue belt and a seasoned blue belt are vastly different skill levels especially depending on how the gym promotes. I'm now a four stripe blue and new blue belts feel like white belts when rolling with them unless they're super strong or have some other experience like wrestling or Judo.

    The "bodybuilder" clearly train wrestling and the blue belt of the video its not a legit blue belt. 0 takedowns and he did not take advantage of the clear advantage he had with leglocks agains wrestlers and 2:13 he has a toe hold very easy

    The first guy didn't defend a really slow single leg and didn't get a perfectly set up guillotine. I don't think he is a blue belt
