PART 1: • The Witcher: Blood Ori...
So Netflix just released the Witcher: Blood Origin limited series onto the platform, and I had a few thoughts. Sophia Brown stars as Eile, Laurence O'Fuarain as Fjall, Mirren Mack as Merwyn, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Michelle Yeoh as Scian. After this and Henry Cavill's exit of The Witcher, this show really is doomed, and Blood Origin sucks. Watch this review to find out more!

The one good thing about this show: if you watch it while drunk and if you’re into TTRPG, it looks like a bad D&D campaign where everybody is having fun but the story is generic and nothing truly makes sense but you’re laughing anyway

I remember that initial trailer that you mentioned in the end. I thought it was a joke, that this is one of this fan-made trailers putted together from different scenes. I could not believe that and Ellie guiding song... That was a cherry on the top of that shit

I really wonder what they were thinking when publishing it though, like what goes through ones mind lol
The elves in this show are just humans with glue-on spock ears. There isn't anything particularly "elvish" about any of them.

It is fascinating that the prosthetics from Star Trek: TNG and DS 9 held up better than the horrible elf ears used here. The Lord of the Rings trilogy came out more than 20 years ago and the ears still look amazing. How did Blood Origin screw up something so simple this badly?
I honestly wouldn’t be mad if this story is painted as a fairytale someone made up/told to encourage the elves in battle. It would have the advantage of being bias and an unreliable narrator could give it wiggle room. But magical story teller lady makes it looks like it was directly from a history text book 😂 The romance felt forced and storylines came out of nowhere. They should have just left the king alone with his peace treaty, he was the only one with a good head on his shoulders

Yeah, I agree with the point about it better being off as a fairytale. It would probably have been better off as something told in the main show, too, instead of the creators behind the Witcher trying to stretch it out into a separate show. The show doesn't do much besides telling instead of showing anyway, so why even bother lol

@@andrewreviews I think the show is complex enough as it is and introducing 7 new characters would just be confusing. I think the spin-off is nice, it just need to be fleshed out more and not be taken too serious as a prequel if they decided to throw everything we know about the conjunction and witcher’s origin out of the window

Well, considering they cut down from 6 eps. to 4, there might have been enough material to flesh everything out and a version of this show may exist somewhere out there that is actually not bad

@@mat1413 then why even bother tying the show to the witcher

@@PonyFoot123 honestly, true. It deviated from the source so much that it should just be a different show
I hate to say it, but these are some of the worst actors! Probably the fault of the show runners. The actors don't fit together at all. Zero chemistry! Forced and fake emotion. Elves... so not elves! This gives me a bad taste for even the original witcher. The idea that the origin of witchers and Ciri came from such a ridiculous story is repulsive. Did the show runners even try? Were they drunk? It's offensive that they offered this to viewers. And the way they destroyed Sapkowski's witcher... Yennefer, Ciri, Triss. They wiped out Geralt. It's a depressing disaster!

True
The name of "Brother Death" sounds like someone is playing D&D for the first time and they have created the most edge lord Rogue character. The whole show is like a D&D campaign where the DM didn't prepare properly. I swear, I have heard of homebrew campaigns that are more complex and interesting than this show.
As far as I am concerned, if it wasn’t written or approved by Andrzej Sapkowski, then it isn’t canon and has no part in Witcher lore
