    I've abandoned any notion that knives are mainly tools in my life. They're gadgets. Toys that bring out the same enthusiasm as things you would get as a child that happen to also be useful tools. This is a great example of that. It's gadgety. It is fidget friendly. It's pure fun and I enjoy that side of the knife world.

    A few months ago I decided I needed a pocket knife. You know, the kind my grandpa carried. Slip joint, mother of pearl handle, hopefully under $30. I stumbled on one of these knife review videos and after watching you guys fidget with flippers and thumb stubs and button locks and etc. I caught the bug. Now I’m lusting after a $375 work of art/genius. So thanks for that. 🥴

    So cool, the sound is what really sells it for me. I hope they someday come out with the same design with cheaper materials, maybe G-10 scales and S30V. I think that would bring it to a better price point for a lot of people who love the design but not the cost. Similar idea with the CRKT Provoke, after changing out some of the materials to make a substantially cheaper version, its unique design was way more accessible for a lot of people. Just gotta make sure they never lose that sound! But hey if they cost isn’t a problem then this seems like an awesome collection piece. Thanks for the vid!

    I absolutely love the style and unique mechanism on this knife, but as a mechanic who works in a shop, and having experience with magnets on pens and flashlights, they tend to attract every single miniscule atomized piece of metal or shaving that is bound to be present in any shop lol and having all those metal particles and shavings being attracted and stuck to magnets upon which the action and mechanism depend is the part that really worries me. it can be a pain in the butt to clean that metal off of magnetized areas that are out in the open, let alone between the knife scales or the parts that actuate/disengage the blade. I just see an awful lot of disassembly and cleaning being required for this knife to operate smoothly, specially for any blue collar type workers who may be frequently exposed to metal particles and shavings or any shop environment. tho I'm still seriously tempted to try and get one and just resolve it to only night/weekend carry cause man this knife is so cool. I love the idea of operating by magnetism and developing a locking mechanism that works as such, but kmow how much of a double edged sword that can really be

  • @gummybeargunner872

    @gummybeargunner872

    It very much depends on how your local law is written. Since you are imparting the mechanical force necessary to open the blade via a flipper tab instead of the spring assist of a normal assisted knife it is very possible that this would not be considered an automatic in many jurisdictions. Just to be clear the magnets are holding the blade in place and you are overcoming that hold force via the flipper tab, the magnets are not assisting in the opening of the blade at all. Again talk to a lawyer if you have any questions or concerns about carrying it.

    So dam excited for this, do have one question does the magnets in the knife have you concerned about magnetic exposure to your mechanical watches? And it's too late for me I did get into watches..... save yourself

    I wonder if it had titanium scales it would FEEL a little lighter? Maybe carbon fiber?

    I feel this knife might change the industry. We have gone from tool, to fidget, to art knife. I really feel the sound may be something marketed in the future. I hope so.

    pretty cool. Gonna be hard to get one. hope the price doesnt skyrocket. Not sure I would actually like to have one, but 100 bucks more would send the option right out the window. Very cool though.

    It looks like the posts that help center the blade are marking the blade?! Am I wrong? Noticeably on the show side.

    God that "ting" is amazing. Reminds me of the m1 garand. Only way to make this knife better. Offer different blade shape, color ti and something other than carbon fiber.
