He definitely used a pick on this solo. You can hear it. He used a pick from time to time on the first album when he wanted a more "aggressive" sound. He is still blazing either way.

Same here, not all have the God given talent for Guitar, but when you switch to bass you get there with relentless hours of Hard work. 6 hours every day. 2 on Sundays. After a while5 years or so you get on up there. Michael Rhodes God rest his Soul. All the Hard work paid off because at that level you know exactly what every song needs even if you just are obscured in the back ground, you are the mthfkr keeping that 'isht wired tight. But Billy??? his blazing speed comes from being an effing guitar player gettin cut at every turn. yeah then it really came together quick. Cheers my brother of Thump!

Saw Talas a few times and even got to open for them once in Pittsburgh. They were beyond badass and Billy is a force of nature. I knew when I saw him there was no stopping him! And yeah, at times I can't fathom what Mike is playing either!

I've got to briefly talk to Billy after a Mr Big reunion in 2010 (maybe 11) in Buffalo, his hometown. He was a very down to earth guy, an amazing human being. Snapping photos with everyone, I got lucky to have a quick one with him before he hopped on the bus. Someone else beside me shouted at him "Billy you're the reason I'm at the wood shed" and he shouted back: "And you too. I love you and I stay in the wood shed every day because of you". Incredible human being.

at first i thought this is another short project by Portnoy but here we are on the third album and still fresh! amazing talent from these three!

An old time trio format - just like when Billy was with Talas. Can't get much better than this.

Best hard rock trio

I almost die years ago going to a WD concert in Paraguay. We were running against the clock to get in time to the concert from Resistencia, Chaco (Argentina) to Asunción (Paraguay) and crashed in the road. Luckily nobody got hurt and only the car suffered damage. Of course we did not make it to the show, but i expect that with this reunion i finally may see them playing live!

This was already a great song in the first half, but what makes it one of the, if not the best song of The Winery Dogs is the musical feast from 2:32, the entry into the bridge, a beautiful melody with Richie’s perfect falsetto, Richie’s masterful solo and finally finishing up with Billy’s tasty bass solo. I can’t wait to hear their future records, and to watch them live some day!

Technical musicality and Rock n Roll these guys are the best

This one is badass. All three musicians go off. So many nice intermingled riffs, by each of them, that make it special. This is true old school. I'll bet they sound amazing live. I will find out soon.

Everything is where it should be. Nothing is missing, nothing too much. Clear and transparent, yet beefy as hell. On top of that is a good song and wonderful musicians at the top of their game.

Unexpected motownish chord progression and sweet chorus harmony, angelic falsetto, spattered with Deep Purplish, hard, harsh edgy riffs and prog like twists and turns 😍😍😍a huge huge treat to diehard music fans of broad genres.
