JOE SATRIANI & STEVE VAI ' The Sea Of Emotion, Pt.1' - Official Video

Музыка

New single Out Now: satchvai.lnk.to/TSOEID
Joe Satriani and Steve Vai (Satch & Vai) collaborate for the first time on new music with this single and video that recalls the beginning of their 50 year-long friendship. Result: a whole lot of awesomeness and a trip back to the 70's (courtesy of director Z.Z. Satriani)!
A special thank you from Joe Satriani himself -
I want to take a moment to thank the extremely talented actors that make this video so much fun to watch:

And, of course, for our fearless director ZZ Satriani (IG: @zzsatriani), a standing ovation for his unbridled imagination and flawless execution.

A conversation between the two was once published in Japan's Young Guitar Magazine. I think it was in the 90's. During that conversation, Steve said, ``I'd like to co-produce an album together someday. I'd like the title to be ``Sea of Emotion.'' They said that in their hometown where they spent their childhood, there was a vacant lot called Sea of Emotion.

Nice! Two great Long Island guitarists. I played with a few others, like Al Pitrelli and the late female guitar wiz Ronni Crooks (who was also a protege’ of jazz great Billy Bauer, who Satch also studied with.) A Vai story…I was sent to “my Father’s Place” club around ‘82 to review Steve self-releasing his first solo album, “Flexible.” I brought my drummer along and remember how we thought Steve was our guitarist Eric Rudy (from PA,) who had recently left to replace Steve Morse in the remaining Dixie Dregs, when Via went solo. Vai LOOKED and PLAYED just like our guy Eric. It was like a “Twilight Zone” episode. After we realized it was indeed two different guys…Steve’s mom and dad walked over to our table. They had heard I was there to write a review, so the came to say hi and give me a promo copy of “Flexible”…and inside, on a napkin, his mom wrote “Please write something nice about our son, he’s a good boy.” I STILL have that album and napkin.
