Makita doesn’t throw from a low slot, he uses similar techniques as Watanabe where their legs go so low that their arm slot itself is almost just a sidearm, you can see his fastball breaking like a sidearm fastball does. Tyler rogers and park jong hun have lower arm slots as they don’t lunge foward as much

I agree...also, I feel that an underhand delivery (i.e., throwing altogether) is more natural... I was a pitcher (Little League, Babe Ruth) and threw roughly 3/4...it was not uncomfortable...I think that I entertained over-top at one point - but I feel that it requires extra effort... Many years ago, I was having an underhand style whip catch with a friend, and it was very comfortable...

Bro sidearm pitchers are so fun to watch the smoothness of they're delivery especially mikita

I’ve seen at least a half dozen good submarine style pitchers in the past 50 yrs, but I’ve never seen one that was left handed

There have been numerous submarine type of pitchers done through a years. In the 60s & 70s we had Ted Abernathy, Cecil Upshaw, then came Kent Tekulve and Dan Quisenberry. Most recently Steve Cishek

This pitcher reminds me of Kent Tekulve of the Pittsburgh Pirates (74-85) who was one heck of a submarine pitcher. He had a style of pitching many right handed hitters had a lot of difficulty with just being able to hit the ball.

How I was thinking I wanted to watch some pitchers that were sidearmed and then this pops up on KZread shorts just bye me thinking I think they are connected to my brain

I threw sidearm all thru school but averaged 70s. I wasnt fast whatsoever but i did ok. Id get hit, but alot of the time it wasnt good contact ended up a foul or grounded. I will aslo say that my shoulder is absolute toast from pitching that way. I might have hit 80 on occasion but not often if i even did. Its hard to generate alot of speed. It was more about the release and that the ball is elevating rather then falling. Its weird seeing it first few times. The look on the batters face immediately says what the hell?

I can through like this to it’s funny kids on my team say it break the laws of physics because it a rising fastball
