I’m so glad you’re joining us for Week of Weird! Authority has such a different vibe from the first book hit it’s worth it to get to the third and does fit in well with the trilogy once you’ve finished it. I still need to read Martian Chronicles! Oryx and Crake is great!

I have not heard of the Week of Weird. I agree, the Martian Chronicles is a bit weird I re-read it recently as well and I very much enjoyed it. Love Bradbury!

Hi Kim I generally don’t read weird books. I love my Mysteries - Fantasy - Suspense Romance Novels - Some Sci Fi - Children’s Books. These are the ones I love to read. I am reading Heir Of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. Take Care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗📖🔰📕📚❤️

I read Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury last October and loved it. I get what you're saying about his writing. Enjoy your reread. ❤📚❤️

I can’t remember if I read Something Wicked This Way Comes back in the day or not. I remember reading several back around that time period. It’s one I do want to read(or reread) though.

What a fun concept. I was rooting for Black Locomotive just because I am curious about it. Thankfully this time when you read The Martian Chronicles you have a whole community of bookish people to discuss it with and not one of us will think you are weird haha. I suppose it depends on how you define weird but I would say the weirdest book I have read is Slade House by David Mitchell and The Owl Service by Alan Garner.

Yes, it’s so nice to have this book community to share “weird” thoughts with! Although a couple of my co workers read, they read real world stuff and think my reading is a little weird, haha, oh well. I’ve heard of Slade House but haven’t heard of The Owl Service before.

@@thepapertraveler1122 The Owl Service is a middle grade from 1967 based on a Welsh legend so it helps if you know about the legend because otherwise it drops you straight into the story with no context. I didn't dislike it but it was very odd and I didn't know what was going on most of the time.

The martian chronicles is a fascinating book. I was kind of shocked from the begining by the first story, when they are arriving at Mars, and this guy (the husband) is like wait a minute I will be back (I am not going to say more so I don't spoil) and I just can't forget that scene. Also the story called Usher II, which I found a bit creepy. For some reason, I found that the book is full of absurdity. Not in a bad way, like senseless, but absurd, like a satiric comedy. I don't know how to describe it, it's just weird hehehe. I don't read so much weird stuff, but I always recommend some japanese series or movies, some are very weird.

I’ll be curious if I recall any of the stories once I start reading them. During those days I didn’t ponder on books like I do these days. I’ve tried a few times watching Japanese series and movies but can’t seem to get into them for some reason. I’ve even tried a few animated ones my daughter loves but couldn’t get into those either. I suppose with further research, I’ll find one I enjoy.

@@thepapertraveler1122 you know? you gave me an idea to create a video about japanese series and movies, and which ones I would recommend. I understand you, my wife always tell me how I can enjoy those series and specially music. She doesn't like them. But, I dont' know, I just enjoy them. And yes, some are hard to get at first. I prefer old stuff, music from 80s, 90s and around 2000, and series around 2000 also.

That’s a good idea. I like watching videos about certain types of movies/series. I definitely agree about music. I just can’t seem to get into most of today’s music. I have a few favorites but in general I revert to older music.
