This week I'm taking a look at the popular TECH MCT BLACKOUT.
A big thanks to epicair for sending me this bag up to review.
I only use Veto Pro Pac tool bags that fit in with the work I do as an electrician. This gives me the chance to really test out the bag and put it through some real world scenarios.

Pocket Count 44 Vertical Tool Pockets. 44 interior & exterior. D-Rings 2 large and 5 small. Waterproof Base 3mm Injection molded Polypropylene Weatherproof Body Fabric. 1200 and 1800 PVC Impregnated denier fabric. Guarantee 5 years.
Veto Pro Pac’s Tech MCT Blackout is the ideal tool bag designed for service engineers. It is a taller version of the MC tool bag capable of holding long shank tools up to 31.75cm (12.5")
External Features: The front side of the bag is fully featured with 2 external zipped pockets and a snap back for easy access to tools whilst working. The reverse side has a zipped pocket and a quick access Velcro pocket for bit extensions and smaller items.
The ends of Tech MCT Blackout are fully utilised with 2 pockets each end for torches, pens and knives etc. In addition one end has a metal clip to hold a tape measure and the other an electrical tape strap.
Internal Features: The inside front has a fully featured storage compartment holding 3 rows of tools up to 31.75cm (12.5"). The reverse side has compartments for meter storage, and a small cordless drill plus further pockets for hand tools. It is smaller than the Tech LC with a foot print of 20.3cm x 25.4cm (8" x 10")

@@JBE I’ve got a TP XL, MB and MB3. Plus OC170. All my other stuff is Velocity. I really think mixing and matching veto and velocity is the way to go as they offer quite different things. Re Tech MCT I was looking for a small call out bag that would fit fluke T90 and clamp meters etc. lots of bags are either massive or too short. Just subscribed - going to watch back some more of your reviews. Cheers! 🫡

Comprehensive video as always James 👍. I’ve got the original MCT which does me well for my job as an HV maintenance spark. Wish the Blackout was out when I bought mine, but I don’t think I’ll upgrade just yet. I’ve also got the TP-LC as a home general tool grab bag and the OT-LC for my plumbing gear (bought after your review, as it happens 👍).

Cheers Mr Vroom 101. My mate has the original MCT and he too is happy with it. The update to Blackout is not something he'll be doing either. Personally I've been working out if it for a few weeks now and can't fault it for the little beast it is. I too use the OT-LC for plumbing! Like other Vero bags it's perfect for all my water and pipe based tools.

I've got the original MCT. Love it. Wish it had the mesh pocket though. Ideal for sleeving and connectors

@J Beck Electrical I had a velocity before, which had a mesh pocket, and that's what I used it for. I get around it with the Veto by using the ck magma pencil case size bags for sleeving and connectors. Just hang them from a carabiner on the d rings. Love having two sides to the bag as well 👍

Think this will be my next bag, have a TP XL at the moment which keeps falling over and a tech pac which gets too heavy, was holding out to see if they brought a blackout tech lc out this year but doesn’t look like they’re gonna so this one is now on my radar

I hear you, the TP-XL can get a little top heavy with it's narrow base! I also loaded my Tech Pac Bkackout out to breaking point (my backs breaking point not the bag? I'm finding this a great medium sized bag and with the different panels you can change your load out and keep the same main bag. Personally I really like the tablet panel.

Yknow i just got one and was thimoing, why do they sell the bulk storage if well.. its already a completely empty space with velcro, if you didnt want anything on it you could just line it with easily removable felt, idk just popped into my mind i might try it myseld 😂

I can confirm it does fit, I've had megger in the bag a couple of times. You just can't load out the mesh pockets too much.

Do want a new bag and a smaller one for my second fix stuff, the big back pack i have is killing my back 😅😅. Ps you need to get some site videos, your dancing and good real life jobs were great 👍

That's the trouble with having a big bag...you tend to fill it up with everything because you think you might need it and it'll save you a trip to the van/truck/site locker/shed/garage or Ford Escort Van in my younger years. After a few weeks of usage I can tell you this it just enough and keeps everything dust free from those other pesky trades with their sawdust and mud flying everywhere! I'll be back making an idiot of myself soon don't worry 😎
i’ve been looking for this video for a while also it doesn’t technically have a back or front because you can put the v swap panel anywhere you want right?

Hope it was some help to you? Yes, the panels can move around, but only one side has the little velcro pocket. So I was calling that the front... I think 🤔. Cheers for watching. Have you got other Veto products, or is this your first time?

@@JBE yea i just got a mp1x and love it tho i am finding myself wanting more screwdriver slots in it so i’m keeping a eye out on a mp2x do you have any experience with me mp1x or mp2x or any of the mp pouches?

Will a m18/Dewalt 20V sized drill fit into the meter side panel if put towards the front of the bag and the neoprene pockets are folded back?

Yes, you can get a flat panel as well thats no pockets 3” wide
