The Untold Truth Of The Easy-Bake Oven
Ойын-сауық
In its nearly 60 years occupying toy store shelves and kids' bedrooms, the Easy-Bake Oven has proven it could stand the test of time. The novelty of kids being able to make real cakes, pretzels, cookies, and other confections without having to turn on the actual oven in the kitchen has yet to grow stale.
Of course, over the decades, the toy has evolved quite a bit, from changes in its design due to law changes concerning light bulbs to safety recalls to new models that reflect shifts in how society views gender. This is the untold truth of the Easy-Bake Oven.

No not at all but it's my dream item
I wanted an Easy Bake Oven when I was a little boy. My mother told me: "if you want to bake we have an oven and you do not need a toy; let me show you how to use a real oven." That was that and I thank my parents for their decision - but I did get a bicycle instead!

That's what I did with my kid's and grandkid's. We taught them to bake in the kitchen oven, they cooked meals on the stove, and learned to use the grill when it was nice out. No stacks of empty pizza boxes when they were in college. My son's cook better than their wives and their kid's love helping with meals.

Honestly that's what I would do, just learn to bake for real lol

@@smileyp4535 Indeed! Buy the child his or her own real child sized (and child safe) cooking supplies. Mini pans, kid-sized whisk, yanno

Makes perfect sense, who needs a toy when you got paretn supervison. plus life skills.
I had an Easy-Bake oven wel before there was one. The toy oven plugged in, got really hot, and cooked on the top as well. It was red metal. I also had an electric iron that also got hot and really worked. They taught me so much about safety without permanent injury.

Ok so you're 100 years old
I swear, kids are legit trying their best (out of curiousity of course ) to off themselves. Its also bad to think about parents not supervising the kids playtime or actually playing with them. Funny thought is that the original designs were very gender-neutral (since that matters for kids), and they look so cool. the newer models just look like a box that you stick your hands in.

I wouldn't put it past some of these parents intentionally hurting their kid just to sue the toy company!
I’m watching this thinking I want one. Then realised I have a real oven and I don’t even use that 😂😂
Apparently Common Sense was not put into the mix
30 million seems to me like an awfully low number of units sold in a span of 59 years
One of my favorite toys, mine was teal. I still remember the jingle
I had one of these and the thought of sticking my hand inside of it never crossed my mind! It just seemed obvious to me that it shouldn't be done. I loved that oven and miss those days! The cakes were so good and it was so much fun knowing that a light bulb had cooked it!
My parents has concerns about the safety of the cooking method. We had a toaster oven instead since I was scared of the big oven till I was about 13 lol
I had one in the late 1960's I loved it but it was expensive buying the cake mixes
My sister had an Easy Bake oven, I guess it's a reason why I don't like to cook.
I was always jealous because my model didn’t have the melting containers at the top
Yep, had one of those Teal colored Easy bake oven. Love those little baking pans. And the cakes were really good. And ta think that the light bulb cooked everything. Or at least that's what I was told. I never used it by myself. My mom was always right there with me. The ones they make today nobody in my family has bought one. I taught my son with a normal oven and stove. I taught him baking. My husband taught him cooking. His wife is happy. 🤣😁🥰❤Love your information on this❤❤❤
As a girl i would have liked the black and silver better then pink or purple
It’s better he doesn’t have a pink oven.

Agreed
Parents got me one as a kid, as a guy didn't mind the pink, just wanted to eat some good ass cakes. I did try to stick my fingers in the side though but not while it was on.
I never liked mine but at the time I got a similar but new product the Girl Scout cookie oven and I loved that thing
So is it 30 mil or 150 mil sold?
I had an easy bake oven that my grandmother gave to me but after I had it for a while my told me that I don’t need because she can teach me how to use a real oven.
This channel is freaking awesome
I remember my first easy bake oven
Air fryers=Adult Easy Bake ovens...PROVE me wrong!! 😂😂❤❤
Well done 👏
If I had a easy bake oven I would be safe and just be patient that way I wouldn’t get injured
I always wanted one
I would get jiff mixes they would work in the oven
I had one of the orig. Ovens
40k signatures is nothing
I had a Holly Hobbie version. Loved it.
I don’t remember what color My ez bake oven was , but it looked like a miniature oven. And yes that light 💡 bulb got hot. A miracle I didn’t burn myself or my bedroom down. I made toasted cheese sandwiches 🥪 for a midnight snack when the kitchen was closed.
This looks alot different than my Easy-Bake oven, but I agree gender neutral is nice cause IG boys be cooking they tail off🫲🏾
Just buy an air fryer. Same price.
Dafuk is "gender neutral"?
Nall homie I was first 👀 🤛🏿
No one ever wanted the gender neutral one said the kid from kindergarten cop as he stated the obvious
First comment!
boys can enjoy pink and purple too, ya snowflakes.
