My guess is they have different ventilation. Since you said the easyfake feels hotter, it probably doesn't keep as much heat in. Meanwhile the real easybake might hold more heat, especially if it wasn't given a break in between baking. It could've been holding heat from the past ones still and the cookie got overcooked from the heat build up.

That's what I was thinking. The Easy Bake Oven tries to keep the heat within itself for safety reasons. After all, kids are suppose to be the ones playing with it. While the knockoffs might not care as much about safety. Letting the outside of the machine get hot. I was hoping he would do a safety check by leaving them on and see how hot they get or something.

The real one has better insulation, keeping in the heat. So if you were doing these back to back to back, it's starting off hotter each time. The other one, being a knockoff is technically built worse, but... The fact that it loses temp quickly might be a good thing. My parents brag about their old school oven from the 60s or whatever, but it stays hot for a LONG time, so if someone cooks dinner, and then someone cooks right afterwards, it's going to burn unless you really watch out.

Lifetime cook here...it appears that Easybake's lightbulb is a little closer to the food, which would explain why the top wasn't as hot. Unless the lightbulbs are different wattage. Were the ovens both on for your entire demonstration? The toy oven isn't meant to be on for that long. Was the generic oven smoking at all? I saw its on light flickering a little. Also it might be used. The clear winner!

Don't they both have power settings? Isn't that what those dials on each oven were? Did you have the easy bake set higher?

The easy bake oven is just a light bulb in a box. Fun 2 Bake is a real mini toaster oven. I don’t think it was made by people that care about baking. I think they just have cheap toaster oven parts to use and don’t care if the device gets dangerously hot.

I wonder if the newer Easybake uses a different heating element than it did in the past and than what the fake oven used, since the incandescent bulbs used in the older models may be harder to find. Maybe Infrared LEDs?

Fun fact, this toy is dual purpose, first you can cook with it and after you run out of the pre packaged brownie mix you can easily convert it into a roach motel by leaving a brownie tray inside and watching your roach family grow. When you get bored of that all you have to do is plug it in and turn it on!
