Thank you! My understanding broadened and I was able to see things I am already doing and where I can improve. Between you and Ganel-Lynn, I think I am getting this consecration/stewardship thing!

As has been said below, I am so grateful for your articulate way of “unfolding” the law of consecration in a way that gives expression to what has always been in my heart. Thank you Brother Sweat for sharing your gifts; for your consecrating work. It is priceless to me.

Thank you ... one of my favorite books to recommend to people is “Seekers Wanted” ... won’t help if you’re just to lazy, but if you have a doctrinal issue or heard something weird ... it’s very helpful ... as long as you (to quote people greater than me) ‘are willing to take on the wrestle’ (Dew) and ‘doubt your doubts not your faith’ (Uchtdorf)!

Thank you for this episode. I finally understand better the Law of Consecration. I love that I can now go to the temple and Covenant with more understanding than before. It was the very best explanation of all the videos I have watched. Thanks again

Knowing the laws of the Lord is indeed a blessing that helps lead us home. Lots of the issues of the lay of consecration are selfish based and dwell in this earthly body state not worrying about the eternal perspective. We don't always know why we have a prompting to pray and fast for a particular person or go serve them not knowing why when they are not assigned to you but when we go and do it just works and sometimes we find out the why soon upon heeding and it blows me away at why I didn't hasten but dragged my feet.

Thank you so much for this. I genuinely love the law of consecration but l was until now in the group C. Losing my job to Covid, previously a 100% tithe payer, l have really struggled this past year to pay tithes. Even when I manage to set a little aside, a need arise and before l know it, it's spent. I know the Lord understand because l still see the blessings flow in my life but it does not stop me feeling bad. I mean tithing is all He asks in the pared down law of consecration, right, and l can't even do that. How wrong l have been. I realise now l have been living the law of consecration in so many other ways but even so, the Lord has been overly generous in rewarding those relatively minute and inconspicuous sacrifices - shouldn't even ascribe the term sacrifice to the relatively menial efforts. How kind and generous is our Lord - l am overwhelmed.

You've described the law of consecration beautifully (and pretty accurately). I think you are right that it is essentially spiritual (D&C 29:34: "All things unto me are spiritual"). And I love your counsel about some of the ways we can live the law in our daily lives. But I think you minimize the economic aspect of consecration. "Economics" means the management of temporal things, which are among the things over which we are stewards. That aspect is emphasized throughout the Doctrine and Covenants, for instance in the following passages: 56:16-18; 70:14; 78:4-6; 82:17-20; 84:112; 104:13-18. I know you're familiar with all of these. I just think they still need emphasis. The acquisitive and anxious impulses many of us have in regard to our "things" and our money needs to be checked. And we need to repent of much in our contemporary treatment of and attitude toward those in need.
