The Great Barrier Reef is currently at a record high level of coral coverage since records were started in 1985 even with record high tourism.

Yes it is... Debunking that so called "climate change" is at fault.

You must work for the fossil fuel industry. The reef is bleaching in 2023, during a la Nina year for the 1st time ever. 91% of the areas visited by scientists are bleaching.

@@nobody687 That's an incorrect assumption and shows how little you know about coral reefs. Corals are amazing oceanic animals and like all things in the ocean they adapt to survive.

She might have to kill off most of the current species in order to kill us humans off for her to survive another few hundred years.
Absolutely stunning footage.
These are wonders of earth. Just amazing

I find theese documentary videos really relaxing, informative and entertaining.
It is so exciting to watch on life of underwater creates! I like this video very much! It is fine! It is as if you dived by yourself.
I watched this and it's a big dose of reality of the future. I am more motivated to do my part now. Big thank you for your video!
감사합니다.
Moray eels and groupers will actually help each other hunt The grouper will chase prey fish into the reef and the moray will chase them out of the reef so they have nowhere to go
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good, but please no music
Maybe don't interview the guy in the pub.
👍
I was hoping for several hours of the Great Barrier Reef with relaxing classical music as was done for the Amazon but only find much shorter narrated videos. I appreciate the value of information viewers find inspiring, but all I wanted was to watch the denizens of this incredible ecosystem.

@@deathbysodomy4124 You sound like my twin sister by showing no concern over how hurtful your words were. It would have been more helpful if you'd said it was too bad I hadn't been watching the kind of video I was looking for and better luck next time, but maybe that would have been too nice a reply. I do appreciate all replies, though.

Put some soothing music on and turn down the video sound
It has since grown back and is now looking very healthy
As an Australian, this is incredibly difficult to listen to due to the American accent of the narrator.

Ok Rick Grimes. I'm a mermaid!
What is a stone and fire coral?? Looked like acropora to me. Secrete limestone!?!

Dark ages of the ocean have started . I,m a DM in on my home island st Lucia and we are going through a black sea urchin wipeout all have died , I'm observing too see how soon they start to make a comeback.

I'll tell you my opinion. I'm not a pessimist but a realist. If you pay close attention to how everything underwater moves, then compare it to species like us. You cannot compare the two lifestyles. Just for entertaining purposes, imagine the next level (space). Do a comparison now. The further you get away from home, the more ......

I wish you used scientific terms it would’ve put this video over the top but the lack of correct verbiage really throws me off
The information in this video is a mess... it goes from one subject to the next, showing an image of another total different third subject. It would be so great if there was no one talking. At least people wouldn't think the information is accurate the way it was presented, specially with the images. Well... we can find all sort of things online. So...
Thats not a grouper .. thats a harlequin sweetlips..

Oh stut up, it's part of the grouper family.
Been keeping reef tanks for years. What the hell is a fire coral? XD you have four types of corals, small polyp stony, large polyp stony, soft and non photosynthetic. Acropora make up most of the structure of the reef. They don’t “secrete” limestone or calcium. They are calcium where limestone is created from corals. They are made from a calcium carbonate structure where they themselves grow. The algae that is spoken of is called zooxanthellae. This is the “skin” of the coral which gives it its pigment and takes in light to feed the coral. The polyps are simply a secondary system that are meant to catch tiny particles in the water column and thus feed the coral as well. Please, if you are going to make a video about coral and explain what happens in a reef, you have to at least have your facts straight.

Fire Coral is a species. One of the few that hurt like hell if you touch them, similar to a bad anemone sting. Think you are mixing up sub genres of coral (LPS, SPS, etc) with individual species. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_coral
because of the awful music, I just cannot watch this otherwise worthwhile documentary

Fish eat fish human eat fish. Its nature. As long as you dont take more then you need or waste it i dont see a problem
Stop taking 20 minute showers. Open your windows now and then and turn off the AC. Wash your dishes in sink water instead of running the tap the entire time. Use a bath towel more than once. Wash your car in the rain. Stop blasting your lawn with fertilizer. Bring your garbage cans in or secure them during storms. There are many more simple idea like this. Even if they only help a little........... It adds up!
