I'm going to be moving to Black Mountain in a couple of months. I know this town doesn't have a lot of diversity, so maybe it's good that I'll be living there:) I'm looking forward to being a part of this lovely community.

Well, I got a job in Asheville out of graduate school in 2001- I didn't really know much about Asheville at all at the time. Everyone in Murray thought I was saying NASHville. That is how little known it was.

Question:). In Lexington Ky and have had W NC/A’ville-BlkMtn on our 3yr plan to relocate. We were married 2018 in a mtn top rental close to Old Fort:) Issue is crazy increase in real est last couple years. Tips on areas we might look not far from Blk Mtn/Old Ft that’s not as pricey?

Black Mountain, Houses paid for with suitcases of cash by top 12% retired professional earners. No BLM riots. YOU CAN PARK RIGHT IN FRONT OF WHERE YOU ARE GOING. I know the first names of all the waitstaff, supermarket checkout, barber, and when I walk into eateries I hear my name called out with the question, "The usual?" and it's still cheap enough to live on just our social security money.

@@carries6427 Not sure where you got that from. Unless you are trying to draw a connection between people who will not tolerate riots in their neighborhood and the fact that the only riots we have seen in a decade or more have been BLM riots
