You’d like bryson city, n.c. Road to nowhere tunnel, deep creek tubing n walking, great smoky mtn railroad, old downtown, Darnell farms, next town over is Cherokee. I’ll have to check out black mtn.

I'll definitely check Bryson City out! Black Mountain is one of my favorites - I could live there but the cost of property is stupid expensive in the Asheville area. Thanks for the recommendation and for watching!

Jeff, I got a question. I seriously investigated several Appalachian towns for a possible move: Pikeville Ky, Brevard, N.C., Hendersonville, N.C., Selma Virginia, Roanoke VA, and Black Mountain, N.C. They all look good until you get into one bad detail: constant rain in the summer, or very serious flooding - bad flooding. A weather expert explained that the rains come down from the mountains and flood the towns. In other words mountain towns, although very scenic, can be dangerous, in terms of floods. What are your comments about that?

I don't have a good answer. That's a hard question. Flooding can happen anywhere and seems to happen now more than ever. These areas get a lot of rain, but I would connect with people that live there year round. And if you're going to buy a property ask the seller if it's ever flooded before - sure some places might be susceptible to flooding but not the entire area. Probably.

@@JeffCurtis Too bad. Pikeville just got wiped out by a hurricaine. Brevard and Hendersonville get an awful lot of rain in the summer. I monitored the rain each day this last summer. The Selma and Roanoke areas are looking pretty good, if a person chooses carefully, a place to buy a home. That is the main issue of a person relocating to VA.

We experienced nothing but kindness but everyone has different experiences. I would assume that most people will treat you well but assholes can be anywhere.
