We moved to Lake Lure at retirement. Close enough to Asheville (20 miles) and Hendersonville for convenience but far enough to have small town feel. We love the lake and there is a true community feel.

It always takes me a good 50 or so minutes to get the Lake Lure with those beautiful windy road through the rhododendron and waterfalls. There are two main second home areas near Asheville. lake Lure and Wolfe Laurel in Mars Hill. Popular in different seasons with both having special properties. Lake Lure definitely has its charm with the Mountian backdrop. Do you go to Hendersonville much from there?

Fletcher here, toward the Fairview side, but still Buncombe Cty. Been here 9 years, work in east Asheville, commute on the Blue Ridge. I've lived all over the place (Miami, San Francisco, Durham) and despite it becoming more populated recently, this is still the best place I have lived.

Thank you for all these informative information; we moved here late 2020. It will be 2 years I would say Asheville is a great place to live especially if you’re an outdoor person. Can’t complain especially coming from a dense population of California. We went to some of the places that you enumerated however, some of them we never did, we will check them out, thanks. Also, there was one video you had featured about “radon”, I was completely unaware of it. Never thought this would come out, immediately when I found out I kinda freaked out since California are stringent with this compliance. But it worked out someone came in to check & educate us to what to do and not. Also, they said newly built houses are somewhat protected. If I didn’t see your videos I couldn’t have known this apparently, that’s why I am very thankful for all the important information you shared. Hope the best & please continue of giving us more informative information for the new settlers. ❤

I just rewatched the Black Mountian segment and missed where I said 15 min. - then mapped it from Asheville, where I am and it was 17 min. But I agree, at busy times and depending on which part of Asheville you are going to- it could be more.

We met with the mayor of Canton the other night and it was so informative. Canton is going to see rapid growth, we suspect but it is so heartbreaking for those generations of families who have lived there and worked at the mill for years. They are not sure yet what will happen with the building yet and if something else will move in or not.

Liberal areas in Red states always the most expensive by far, always the most artsy, musical, hip. Austin, Ashville, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, Knoxville ect ect. Find a liberal era, find legal weed, cool and hip. Want a admire your local trees, a good bible study, and good clean white town that closes by 9, conservative. We are different 100%.
