Holy hell, I've been doing everything wrong as frost lol. Only thing I was doing right was going for the ice lance build. But I had figured crit/haste would be the go to for that build. Thankfully I'm only in honor gear, so I'll be able to gear out of it. Thanks for the guide!

Great guide! I am picking up Mage in retail for the first time ever. I am a Unholy DK main, so the switch from melee to ranged has proved difficult. This will be my reference as I try to get better. I am 2100 on my DK, but 1100 on my Mage lol. Part of that is I only have honor gear, the rest of it is that I suck at Mage. Keep up the good work

I am really grateful for this guide. This is probably the best ever PVP guide I have seen yet. I would like to know however if anything changed. I just started the game and I know there are quite a lot of patches etc. I just dinged 70. There used to be mainly arcane mages from what I saw from streams and the arena cup. However now more and more mages play frost and I would like to know if there are any changes to this guide with the patches and playstyle , talents etc.

you're valueing cc a bit too much. obviously you should consider what gamemode/comp youre playing tho. if you're playing with a subrogue, cc becomes very important therefore u would take out splitting and put in ray. however splitting ice and INSANELY good and i run it almost always

i had team offers some time back but that's when i was purely focused on content growth and didn't want the stress of competing on top of it. my thoughts on the matter have changed, i did really want to compete this year but most of the people who i could compete with and do well with have other teams that have been concrete for a while now.

great video and i dont even play mage.

I'm a hardcore pve frost mage and a casual pvp frost mage. It just sucks that we have to go haste verse in pvp since it's our worst damage potential. Mastery >Haste > Crit is so good for Frost mages right now in terms of doing damage. Sometimes I wear my pve gear and do 100k dps until all enemies are dead, but of course I'm a glass cannon. I wish crit/mastery were a thing in pvp. I hate sending empowered lances that do not crit!

You like haste and run speed, but don’t even mention wafting devotion as a weapon enchant? Edit: Also, it would seem to me that the Energized Ysemerald will give you more stats than the quick one (70 haste and 33 versatility). Haste also lowers the cooldown of Blizzard, so that's probably another reason you like it. It will also tick faster, so the cooldown of Frozen Orb will tick down faster when you have high haste. I have enchanting and made a Sophic Devotion, but haven't applied it to any of my weapons (PvE or PvP). Currently running wafting for both PvE and PvP, but I do a lot of "world content" and kite stuff, so the run speed from wafting is nice.

Dark iron is good to dwarf off bleeds and other similar effects and panda allows you to set up polys on healers or pre panda a dps so they dont pop a defensive before your go

Dark Iron's racial can remove bleeds and poisons and also gives a damage boost by increasing intellect by 875.
