Very interesting and instructional guide! I wish you would have gone over the team compositions a bit more in detail though. I understand Mage/Rogue could be good. But the 'why' is what I don't understand as someone new to Arena and PvP. What makes an assassination rogue better than a Frost DK? What advantages are there to the Arms warrior over the Rogue? I know that might be a different topic and this already is a long video... but it's still something that could be useful to go over for newer players as well. Help them figure out what to look for in a team comp and how to build teams themselves. Also, and once again this is probably a different video topic, but how do you decide which targets to focus in the sections at the end? Why focus the feral druid over the demo warlock? How do you choose which targets to 'Go' on so to speak? I get you want to throw out as many spells as you can, but how do you choose which targets to hit while trying to stay out of combat? Does it just end up always being the melee if they're chasing you? Or do you ever try and help out your teammate on a different kill target? Many thanks for the instructional video though! Definitely learned a few tricks and things to think about when entering the world of Frost Mage in Arenas and PvP! Hope to use some of this knowledge going into Season 2 of Dragonflight!

was funny that he learned from his own mistake, by making the guides. Eventually we need to realise that even the best mage in the game makes mistakes and some are his own and some are forced by his foes. But the guide is mainly ment so you have a guidance on how to do damage and staying alive. Good vid man, u are a rolemodel to alot people.

If your getting trained like a drunk girl at a frat party and your teammates are brain dead and can’t give any assist. Your kinda screwed. You either need to reevaluate your positioning prior to getting trained. Drop orb/rof on yourself and trade damage then follow up with a block so they can leave or stand and take allot of damage. You can even go the extra mile and drop shimmer and get the ice block that heals 80% max hp

Can someone tell me? Are we really only casting flurry when we don't have any fingers of frost, and we want to send an ice lance? Seems like not a huge priority?

I feel that taking Frostbite is risky in that it puts roots on DR (and even immune), which diminishes the value of frost nova and potentially also kills the Glacial Spike -> Ice Nova combo effectiveness. I moved that point to Snowstorm and while I can't say how much Snowstorm is helping me, I had a really good day yesterday in arenas and BGs after making the change.

@Xaryu You said you could use flurry instead of Ice Nova but you don't get the subzero effect? I thought flurry treated targets as if they were frozen by applying winter's chill?

does anyone know why my ice lance isn't cleaving? xar always has mutiple lances being sent out but my mage just doesn't do that... whats up?

BEST guide ever! Play 12+ classes, and haven't seen 1 guide as clear as this one. Only error I have found in the guide is... Gnome is clearly the best racial because of their Brilliance racial... Casting SMILE causes a blinding light from your beauty to lock out spells for 5 sec. Note doesn't work on DHs.

sure time is relative but leveling now is the fastest it has ever been. You can level from 0 - 60 in a day or two without using any item to increase exp gain, and 60 - 70 in a day or two as well.

First of all: great guide & thank you. But: Wait what? I don't think polymorph removes debuffs. So, I tested it with a mob that I first trapped in an Embersilk Net (I still use them in battlegrounds) that leaves a 3 second DoT on the target and the DoT breaks the poly immediately. I'll definitely rethink my use of poly if you're right and I'm wrong. I don't think you ever mention ring of frost? Is it just too obvious and avoidable? Blast wave into RoF can be fun though. I quit WoW mid-Legion and only recently came back, so a lot has changed. Tons of new classes and everyone has new tricks up their sleeves. I could really use a video on the top most dangerous abilities of other classes that frost mages should be aware of. Stuff like Mindgames and what to do if it lands on you (do some spellsteal?). I wish it changed Poly to actually do damage, but I bet it doesn't work that way. :) I like Wafting Devotion on my weapon, but I'm more interested in battlegrounds and (still) suck in arenas (but I have played some shuffle and your guide will help). It gives quite a bit of haste and the run speed is nice too.

I love these videos man but I just wanna know how do you climb when you get in groups with people that do nothing but go the wrong target all game and break every cc I throw out. its been super frustrating trying too climb, feel like I'm being held back by other players. is there any way that you have found to deal with this or have you not been so unlucky in your matchmaking?

Going on the same target is way more valuable than just splitting, even if your teammates made a game plan and are not following it. So in that case you should be the one to adapt to the situation and swap targets. The matchmaking system for solo shuffle is weird but fair in a sense, cause if you can make up for your team's mistakes you should be in a higher rating and will be rewarded for that. I know it's impossible to carry every game, and that's why even the pros get frustrated under 2400 rating.

Winterchill debuff from flurry makes your spells behave as if the target was frozen ( 2 times per flurry ) fingers of frost treat your ice lances as if the target is frozen. Ice nova, ring of frost, frost nova, cone of cold ( if talented ), frostbite which gives you 15% chance on all frost spells to root the target, glacial spike and snowdrift. On top of it all there is another modifier that buffs the damage if the target is both frozen and rooted.

Ever since they changed flurry to just improve your next 2 icelances instead of it being just 0.5 seconds of being "frozen", there is no longer a reason to cast frostbolt right before your flurry at max range right. No more projectile travel time calculations needed.
