His Mom bought Him TBC, she paid for his Epic flying. She fed Him IRL, she really is a MOM. And now years later, asmon is still living with her, taking Care of her. Even if he’s worth alot of money, and could probably live in a mansion. He’s with his Mom. Man this is what family love is all about. Respect too the both of them❤️

And across the ocean, almost the same story unfolded in life of a 14 year old Pilav. Raiding only Karazhan for 3 tiers, duels under stairs in Ironforge while in queue for arena, got the weapon in the end but never shoulders. I unironically used to be the best student in my school until TBC, but who needed school when I learned English on WoW forums 🤣 Obviously back then I had no money so the way I payed subscription was by doing dailies on 5 different accounts for some German dudes who would buy me game time. My favorite TBC moment surely was when I enchanted server's first Warglaives with Mongoose, wow,I told everyone in my school about it, guy who owned those warglaives was a rogue called Demon who we all thought was a literal God because he was good at pvp and pve. TBC Classic will not even come close to that experience , we will just zerg content down and probably quit after phase 2 or 3, but let's see what happens! Great story Asmon, I wish my mom played WoW as well though 🤣

Your story is so similar to my son and mine, we started back in early 2007, my son was 11. He played a rogue and I a Holy Priest. To this day we still play those classes, I am still on my original priest. I paid for his flying and many other things. His love of gaming led to him getting a game development degree. He too didn't do professions back then, I even leveled his lock picking so he could open my lock boxes I had saved up. He now does professions and even crafts Lariat and jokes I don't tip. Anyway listening to your story brought back so many great memories. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope my son someday has great memories of us playing together.

He’s a very genuine person, even when he’s putting on an act, there’s an undeniable aura to him that just screams human. He’s not there to impress people, nor is he trying to beat people down. The man is doing what he loves for the sake of doing it and shares it with complete transparency and it’s the most respectable thing I’ve seen on the platform, and on the internet in general.

It reminded me of just how fucked Blizzard has been as a gaming company. Asmongold talks about how those of us that achieved Grand Marshall/High Warlord in OG Vanilla WoW were “gods...” I got HWL back then myself, in 2005. I led a team everyday for months on end, and it was the biggest time-suck and required dedication ever out of every game I’ve ever played in my life. I had a blast doing it, but it was essentially a full-time job without getting paid, and instead paying a monthly subscription for it lmfao. In the last couple of months on that grind, I barely slept at all. And in the last 2 weeks, I even needed a friend to play my toon for a few hours when I did sleep/shower, or else I wouldn’t be able to get rank 14. This was because the random solo fux that refused to play with us on the server teams and instead would pay real world money for foreign pvp farmers to earn the title for them. If we didn’t have a friend play our toon a bit at that point, the solo fux would halt our progression when it was our individual turn to get top rank (after the many months long grind we had put in, where we were always watching our progress closely so we wouldn’t screw over teammates that were ahead of us in working for top rank). And then what did Blizzard do? Made all that time and dedication and teamwork be for _NOTHING_ with the first expansion (TBC). Raising the level cap from 60-70made our hard-earned gear be for nothing! And then, to rub salt in the wound, they made it so everyone and their mother could get high end pvp gear and earn the top tier pvp titles. Like, everyone started walking around with my HWL title, akin to when the millennial generation all started getting trophies in school so “nobody would feel bad for losing.” Fuck that shit! I stuck around for a little bit, but essentially only used my main to be an auction house addict/farm up gold essentially, making lvl 19 alts I’d gear the hell up to do pvp on them, wrecking people. I wasn’t going to waste anymore time grinding for _ANYTHING,_ as Blizzard showed they had *NO* respect for the blood, sweat, and tears we put in for shit that took a ridiculous amount of time and commitment/dedication to earn. I maybe played a month tops of the third expansion and left for good. For me, they totally ruined what was my favorite game of all time there for awhile.

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Blizzard didn't do anything wrong there. What did you expect exactly? That your gear was just going to be the best for all time? Every single game goes through level cap increases and every time they need to add better gear or else people will stop having things to work toward. It's just how it works. It's unfortunate but you're in the very low percent of players to cater to and you can't expect them to bend around what you want like that, it's bad for the company that way. Your teamwork meant something and you accomplished what lots of people would be jealous of. You should be proud of your achievements but you can't expect it to stay that way forever. Times change, and you holding this big of a grudge over it is a little overboard. Wish you the best man

@@FuriousFiveMonkey I like how you are talking about vanilla WoW when I played as if it came out a year ago or something, with a litany of mega-populated MMORPGs behind it. There was no standard of *“THIS IS HOW THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE, BECAUSE THIS IS HOW MMORPGs ALWAYS ARE”* back then. WoW _SET STANDARDS._ There was only a couple other small MMORPGs before WoW (like Everquest) and that was it - hardly anyone was playing those games compared to how huge WoW became overnight. There was many options that Blizzard could have chosen to show damn respect to their customers who spent as much time and dedication to achieve the hardest goals Blizzard offered, yet they decided to give the finger to _ALL OF THEM._ I’m not the one with a screwed up head over it - that would be Blizzard and those that excuse their BS. Blizzard is simply a greedy company that doesn’t respect it’s customers, period. They really thought that they can just eff people over like that to such a huge extent and they’ll continue to stick around. The world doesn’t work like that. I was happy to give my money and time to other games/developers instead. They took their most dedicated customer base for granted is what it comes down to. I wasn’t surprised at all when I heard how gross things were for employees working at Blizzard behind the scenes. They’re a bunch of jerkoffs in a litany of ways.
