I don't even kayak and I watched the entire video. You do an excellent job explaining the process, parts needed and showing what needs to be done. The intro / music beat cuts were on point and the music breaks were great. Change the title to "The Ultimate DIY Kayak Box" and you've got something that could really get some traction. Awesome!

SK 😯 you might get a yak ,,,,,,that's Awesome brother . They are fun man , I mean I love my boat too but you'd like it, the only way I can explain kayak too people is , like it seems crazy when someone has a boat , that they would want a kayak, but theres people that only hunt deer with rifles and al of people love using a Bow , because they like the challenge plus the primitive feel appeals to some people. Your just lower to the water and it's a slower pace .

@@FishinNStuff I know iv been slacking lol I took some video today it was finally nice out I have a few other clips but I have to send them to Scot Kilmer he is going to show it on his channel he has 2.3million subs then I will put them and new videos on my channel only thing iv uploaded was the UFO and the 800watt PA test (so I can tell people about themselves when I get cut off lol) I still have to do the 20"hitch attachment being put on video probably tomorrow and I think I'm gunna have to do an engine swap that I'm not really sure how to do but that's where friends and KZread come in lol anyway hope all is well with your Dad and life. Really enjoy your videos. Would like to see your ideas for some type of rack or simple boat storage for the planno 3600 or 3700 series tackle trays. Have them in milk crate now but think you could come up with something better. Again great videos thanks

For fastening the nav light you can also use conduit clamps and pop rivet those to the box.

That box is a helluva idea. If you didn't have any pad eyes you could just drill a hole barely larger than the diameter of the bungee cord, run one end of the bungee through the hole and tie a double overhand knot in the bungee on the inside of the box so it won't pull through the hole.

Very good ideas especially the creative work on bungee cords and how to mount the light. I would like to have a 55 ah battery on the kayak. Any ideas on how to mount that in box so it won’t be slipping around. I already figured out how to mount trolling motor and solar panel.

It should fit , a buddy of mine would take a car battery when we went lol , he just drooped it in his milk create, you could take a couple of velcro straps and rivet em to the bottom of the box then when you put your battery in you could strap it down

They both ste good , a kayak is nice if you like going alone though you can go with a friend , I like to take my boat if I'm taking my wife though , you can travel further in a boat and faster . It's hard to explain. A kayak is like bow hunting and a boat's like rifle hunting I guess . That's probably a bad answer but I like em both , if you have a peddle drive kayak . They are nice . But with a paddle kayak , I'd pick the boat everytime lol

There's a lot to choose from now days as far as foot driven kayaks go but I would want a different kayak , I've had good paddle kayaks and they are nice but hands free is the easy to go . It makes the fishing trip much more enjoyable. And the think about a Hobie is you put easy less effort into them than any other kayak ive paddled 8 miles and not even be tired at all

the nav light will be sturdier it the holes are higher and lower on box

That's true but that Nav light is so light I haven't had a problem with it so far . But you make a good point brother

Just a question. it looks like there are holes in the corners just above the Pad eye. couldn't you leave the wire on one end of the bungee cord, slide a washer on and feed it through the hole from the inside out. then add your spring clip. Just a thought

Im sorry brother, I made my yak box a couple years ago . Then I decided to make a video about it . They were easy to find and I guess they were discontinued, or they're just sold out the video has got a lot of veiws lately . I did find this box at Homedepot. Hey, I Know this is a four-year-old video, but I just came a crossed this one. The box looks great. You know when you said you are using the rivets with the big heads on it to mount the rod holders to the box to spreat out the loud on the platic. What about the rivets holding the strap hooks? The strap hooks are holding the box and everything in it to the kayak, that's a lot of weight put on the rivets holding down the box. I would have used longer rivets and put 3/16-inch washers on the inside of the box to spread out the force on the plastic, so they won't pull though. Just saying. Love your videos.

Ive never ran it dead,,,, soooooo I don't know lol . Itll last an 8 hour trip with the nav on. And the nav light with the LED strip light ive used but I don't leave the brighter light on much because of the bugs it attracts

Thanks for your ideas! I don't agree with sewing on bungee cords. Just too much work as compared with using the small bungees just like they come out of the pack. The clips should work equally as well, without cutting, sewing, etc... Plus... sooner or later those bungees will lose their elasticity. It's more simple to just throw away the old ones and put new ones to use. Otherwise.... Great project!!! :-)

Your way is just as good , I just sew em on so I don't have to keep up with em , they are always there . But either way is just as good . But I do like the solid box better than the milk crate. But they are getting hard ti find . I appreciate you watching brother

Just out of curiosity, how long ago did you buy that storage cube? I have looked everywhere I can think of, and nobody has them anymore, and online they are all but gone as well. Home Depot doesn't have them in store or online anymore.

Your right my friend, and things like that help us not take life for granted. I love doing KZread, that's what drives me but I loved my Dad more and anything I know about anything is because of him , I just didn't feel creative for a while. I appreciate you my friend more than you know

Why not just leave 4 of the hooks on? No need for the bulky carabiners.
