If you're a fan of Ina Garten and her show Barefoot Contessa, you may only know her husband Jeffrey as the guy to whom she occasionally serves delicious food. But they've been together for a long time, first meeting on the campus of Dartmouth University. And Jeffrey has had a long and distinguished career of his own.
After growing up in a military family, Jeffrey Garten went on to serve in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division, advising Thai combatants along the Thailand/Burma border. He then served in two presidential administrations before going on to a career in finance on Wall Street, and later, in academia. Here's the truth about Ina Garten's husband, finally revealed.

Both intelligent and accomplished but more importantly, both just nice folks.
My friend was a student at Yale SOM. Apparently, he gets annoyed when students ask him about Ina, which I can understand. I’m sure that’s all people talk about when they meet him.
Ina us my favorite chef. I love her simplicity and genuine character. She is warm and knowledgeable of so many good recipes. Bless her.
The truth about Jeffry is that he eats and I'm jealous.

Ina is the best! She and Jeffrey are wonderful.
I absolutely love your programmes Ina, you are very warm and genuine. Very easy watching and I think that the way you and your husband interact with each other is inspiring. It looks like you both have a great love and respect for each other which isn’t so common these days.
Followed Ina for years, love them both, Jeff is a cutie, wonderful couple

Great video, God Bless the Military Veterans and Their Families This is my 15th year volunteering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center until August 2011 base move / merger and now volunteer at Naval Support Activity Bethesda home of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for the Military Veterans and Their Families at all 15 inpatient Wards including WWII Korea War and Vietnam War Veterans and Their Families, right before Covid-19 I had the honor of meeting an African American WWII Veteran, his wife and kids while visiting with inpatients at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (they were both in their 90s and so nice to talk to and doing well too :)
What do they mean? Geoffrey has always been in the picture and he is just fantastic 😊
Goes to show you money isn't everything. I imagine Ina made bank working in the White House. But, she left it to cook and run, then own "Barefoot Contessa". "If you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life". Passion over profit is the way I see it. For a while at least. But, of course, I'd want to eventually earn money for it.

What I detest is Ina goes to an Italian, to learn Italian food, A greek person for Greek Food, A French for French and so on, now she keeps making Indian food and no Indian is involved? Wotgowan here?
