For me I have the silver max back lashes way to easy take some getting use to but you can’t cast ass far because it will back lash and I have a review and the bot came of the reel handle some how and now I have no bolt and can’t get one bc of the threads

I still use the older 5600 C4 Abu reel and have landed 1.2m Barra here in Australia with it. I swear by these reels. They’re great value for money. Thanks for the awesome vid mate 😊😊

I have an Abu Garcia Revo SX. I prefer it to many much higher priced reels. In my hands, it’s the best that I have ever fished with, but that’s just me. I’m sure many people feel different. I just recently bought my wife a Abu Garcia Revo SX Spinner. She is scared of baitcasters, but spinning reels are great reels. I’m going to get my own Revo SX Spinning reel also.

I have the blackmax still on my vendetta. First bait caster ever bought and still use till this day flawlessly.

Hands down the best reels I own. No doubt

My cheapest Abu Garcia Reel is 30 bucks and I got it when I was 8 years old and I'm 22 now never had one problem with it. Now I have like 6 new ones cheapest being 100$ and most expensive I have is 250 and I love them all my newest I got is only a couple weeks old but the rest of them are anywhere from 4-8 years old and I don't plan on buying anymore. Abu Garcia is hands down the best reels I have ever used in my life. Nice video!

I've had a abu garcia revo stx for about five of six years. I fish regularly, and it gets thrown in the dirt, water, kinda abused a little. It has stayed true still, great reel.

I started with an ultramax and blackmax moved on to an slx, love that reel but went back to abu after trying 13 and lews. The revo x and sx are my go to's

I've had my black max now for 3 months I think I'm ready to upgrade of course I'll keep the Black Max around and use it but I'm looking for something that casts farther maybe a little smoother I don't know maybe I'll be disappointed at spending more money and I should just go buy another Black Max I'm enjoying baitcasting and the fish I am catching Great video thank you

I found an Abu Garcia that fell outta someone’s kayak and floated to shore. I picked it up changed the line and caught a huge fish on it. Still fishing with it to this day.

My friend still and only uses the very first Shimano baitcasters made. The Bantam 100 with wood handles. He doesn't want any of the new reels. If a reel didn't last 2 years that would be a really bad reel even if used daily by a guide.

😣 I must have the worst luck I only got mine last summer and it’s doesn’t reel the line in level anymore.

I have AG reels from $50 - $250. The smoothest one of all is a Max X, and I think it's $80. My brother uses Curados, and he bought one after he felt the smoothness of the one I use. I've never had one fail me on th water. Guess you can't argue with that

I’m with you on best value for the money. Hard to go wrong with AG.

I'm going to get a baitcast reel sometime, what do you recommend? Do you have an old baitcast reel you wouldn't mind parting with please?

Safe yourself a lot of time; don’t buy used. You want to get something new. They’re always running sales at Academy, and I believe the Classic is going on at Bass Pro. Lastly, inexpensive Abu, Lew’s, or Shimano will catch just as many fish as the expensive. Thanks for watching!🔥

The ice Max have worked super well for me in the ice this year

I have 7 of the AG's...never a problem. Love all of them. Btw..i have 2 shimano's that i gave 200 a piece for but mostly use my AG's.

Abu Garcia reels are made in Korea not China. They are made by Doyo who also makes Lews, Bass Pro, Pfluger, Ardent and Picsifun. Most parts are interchangeable to. I have Revos from the SX all the way to the MGX. The new gen 4s are completely under rated. I would put the Gen 4s up over Daiwa reels and up against similar priced Shimano. Abus palm better in my hand but nothing really beats the Shimano DC brakes.

I'm from Sweden 🇸🇪 The ABU country. I use the classic series 5000-6000-7000 And the C model of those as well! My oldest reel is a 1968 6000 and I'm still use it every time I'm go pike fishing and I use 90lbs spiderwire on that to trow big lure 2oz to 10oz. There quality is by far the best in long term living. I use Daiwa and Shimano I can tell all of the brand have brake down so even the ABU reels but fact is ABU holds way better by far. For saltwater I use the red series because it has brass bearings and the C model has ballberings of stainless steel ofcourse. But still this the most weak part so guys who wish many ballberings do need to oil them often as sea fishing important! For lake or freshwater fine one's or twice a year. I use the old reel ABU MAG 1 and MAG 3 those came in the early 80s they still run as new every 10 year you got change som plastic gear and the line guard often wears out and the small spring loaded pinn who connects falls out. But no issues whit bearings on those and they are like 35 year old now. So quality by ABU I know about and I have caught lots of big fish on those. Best regards from Sweden Scandinavia 🇸🇪 Bjorn

I got a CL6600T Tournament, a special sibling to that era's Mörrum. Works and works. I am looking into doing a full service/upgrade on it and let is serve as a heavy duty pikefighter. Many of the new lower end reels seems to be some sort of chinese oem reels, basically, but the ones developed here in Abu Svängsta, Sweden is likely a different beast.

I have some for over 40 years. Still going strong.

I probably have 35-40 low profile bautcasters, got daiwas, okumas, ducketts, basspro, quantum etc etc. I agree with you, on low profiles its abu, shimano, and lews that ate #1, all their options are great at every price point tbh

I've had a black max for 5 years now and its still going strong and I've put it through absolute hell

You should try a revo x, affordable and that thing slings.

Purchased a Revo X as they’re one of the few companies offering a 5.4:1 gear ratio in left hand retrieve. Very happy with the purchase at $99.00. Going to try a kastking royal legend 2 in same gear ratio and left hand retrieve for $40.00 next. Any insight on this particular reel would be appropriated.

I think I've watched all your videos on the carbonlite 2.0... seems like a great rod! Bass pro actually has the revo sx and carbon lite as a combo for $160 right now.. But i wanted something faster so I just got the revo sx rkt reel with 9:1 gears instead.. I know that's a smokin deal on the combo , but the Revos 7.3:1 isnt much faster then my pro max.. I might just buy a carbonlite 2.0 anyways, is there any rods you'd suggest over the carbonlite ? Thanks man.. I'm subscribed

They are the most popular budget reliable reels In the world I have 3 silver max on the Lew's Hank Parker signature series 40$ rod. 👍

My revo x reels side plates flew off in the lake, I'll never use Abu Garcia again. I'm all Shimano now, the side plates are attached when open, that's half the battle. Lew's Korean reels are pretty bad ass too...

Just because a reel is bang for your buck does'nt mean it's a bad reel. I own 6 reels (Abu) in the mid-priced range,they are all very good reels. Recently bought a more expensive Daiwa Tatula reel,and I'm going to get rid of it,does'nt work for me at all. Just saying.

Disagree,Shimano is the smoothest. They are bass reels 10-11 drag. Sorry I'm transitioning to Abu Garcia. Pro max-18 lb,Revo Sx 20-24 lb.just bought the STX. Oh forgot to mention 8bb up to 11bb. Brass gears. Lew's is in my arsenal too,no Mach series.

In my personal opinion the black max reels are complete junk from my experiences but I also had a silver max and I currently have a Revo sx I have ardent reels I have lew's reels I have Shimano reels and the Revo sx and silver max are definitely my go to reels over anything else I own. And great video BTW

Abu Garcia cannot compete with Daiwa or Shimano in the lower price bracket, however, I've used the living shit out of my Abu SX20 and it's a tank. Runs rough but never skips a beat.

Watched 4 minutes and gave up. Did he ever talk about the reel?

Just got back into fishing this year. In the past the blackmax combo worked great for me. This time I went with a shimano slx150. Thought I did good but it broke on me kast week. Line guide is stuck or off track. 100 dollar paper weight now. Lookin at the revo x to get back to fishing
