Most people think all you have to do is simply throw a piece of wood on a lathe. You demonstrate that true artistry and creativity comes from all the planning and prep work you do before ever putting tool to wood. So impressed with your work. It’s absolutely beautiful. You’re a true creative artist. Have you ever thought about wood and resin turns? Regardless I will be stopping by ETSY to view all your projects and I am excited to do so. Exceptionally well done sir. Mad respect.

Oh my God! What can I say? This is amazing. The wooden scraps and their colors chosen for this piece, skilled workmanship, attention to details are just jaw dropping. This is truly a masterpiece. Mid way into the project, when you cut the piece right at the middle to smoothen the inside, I was shouting “noooooo” loudly. What do I know? The product turned out so nicely. My hat is off to you, Sir!

the magic begins the moment the pieces of wood are selected ! like a master smith will combine various types of steel which are forge welded, cut, stacked, tiled and etched to produce beautiful patterns, you achieve the same with wood, the colours in this piece are sublime, even more so when you apply the finish and, as i have commented many times before, you bring the wood to life and make it sing,

Just one question, with all of that wood dust being blown around and from sanding, please tell me you wear a dust filtering mask, or better? there are so many diseases that wood dust can cause, I would hate for you to be take away prematurely from the very thing that gives you happiness.

Amazing, really beautiful. Such a lovely process. One question, I'm not sure I understand why you used a hand saw to cut it in half only to glue it back together again. Was that so you could reach fully inside to finish the bottom part of the piece? Again, amazing craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing!

if the world ever runs out of rubber bands, you're in trouble. or you have them all...
Nice design but I am not convinced rubber bands give enough clamping pressure on glue ups. gaps seem to be there.

Absolutely stunning, and very clever! It's very difficult to cut staves to fit exactly, as you demonstrate here. I set my miter saw to make a bowl of a certain angle and number of staves, then cut trial bowls out of scrap wood, making tiny adjustments of the miter or blade angle until it is perfect, and then leave the saw alone until I want to change the parameters to something new. Search on "Making a Tulipwood Stave Bowl" here on KZread for the technique.
@mayukowoodturning7644

Thank you sir,..🙏🙏🙏 it's true that it took several attempts to measure the angle of the blade to get the right angle, several times to cut small pieces of wood for experiments

Thank you...I was inspired a lot by the pattern of the cutting board and I turned it into a vase, yeah, it took about 2-3 hours to make the design, it took 2-3 days to make this project pattern and it took 3-4 days to finish this project
As usual, magnificent. I envy you your wood inventory. I have been wood turning for just under a month now and spent what I had on a lathe, tools and a few finishing supplies. When I realized I was going to need some wood also, I stepped out the back door, walked to the nearest tree and cut it down, sawing off the bottom four feet and carrying that into the basement. I've now used all of that and have to go get the next six feet which leads to the first crotch (already planning a natural edged bowl for that), but we've had 16 inches of snow in the past week, so I've been waiting for some of it to melt. Probably today. I noticed that you cut off your workpieces with a western (push style) hand saw, while I and most everyone I see on KZread uses the Japanese style (pull cut) hand saw. How does that happen? Again, my compliments on a beautiful work and thank you for sharing it with us. And yes, most of my work has cracked. 😥

Excited friends to be able to get more wood, because indeed to do this woodturning requires many types of wood, in segmented work it also takes wood to practice getting the right angle and it is done repeatedly, I don't know much about hand saws and what I have only this saw, thanks for your attention to my work
