    +Ironjeel There's actually a project for colonizing Mars called Mars One. The plan is for a one-way manned trip to Mars, in 2026. Of course, there are so many variables to this project that it's probably not going to happen that soon. Still, science has evolved so much that IT IS possible in our lifetimes. Or, at least, one can dream.

    "Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying." -Arthur C. Clarke

  • @adammasterx5854

    @adammasterx5854

    5 жыл бұрын

    That's true if we are alone then we are the only living things and when we explore planets there will be no species to analyse. The other possibility is that we're not alone but this is also terrifying because the different species might be more advanced and could see us as an enemy and destroy us.

  • @darlenecartile226

    @darlenecartile226

    Exactly! So if we keep destroying our planet and we eventually die out it might be millions of years until another set of species as advance as us comes around. But if we aren't alone those other 'things' could take over and they might be more advanced. Both are super scary.

    This just makes me not believe in god more. Why would someone make all these billions of universes, plannets, stars, suns, just for one race? And how would he do it in one day? We are like the only planets that's capable of life (in our knowledge), I know we were made by a coincidence. If you say its a 'miracle' that that happend, don't you think that in all those worlds they'd be ATLEAST one who can hold life? We are an accident. And after a while, our earth will die, or we will all die and another race will take over, or the earth will become inhabitable. Deal with it.

  • @saidmarin4101

    @saidmarin4101

    Technically, we have found tons of earth-like planets, which is to say, they have a survivable atmosphere, water and are within the living range of their respective star. We haven't found any intelligent lifeforms (yet), but I get were you're coming from. It seems simplistic and almost egotistical to think this is all for us, with all the possibilities out there, there must be an unimaginable quantity of lifeforms, I just hope to be alive for when we meet, at least, the first one.

  • @deleted72636

    God in his eternal knowledge. made ALL OF THIS for himself. for his glory. And he also made this for us. So we can see who God is, and what he can do. There are also other beings and entities besides us humans incase you didn't know. looks like you're too caught up in the illusion of this temporary valuble humanlife. Work. feeding your family, earning money. worrying about what people think. Start searching for the Truth. And I promise you. You will find it. Seek and you shall find, Knock and it shall be opened for you. Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth and the life." If sit and meditate on this. you find that this has alot of significance. God has a purpose for your life, and he loves you. and has not forgotten about you. You just need to come to Him.

  • @saidmarin4101

    @saidmarin4101

    9 жыл бұрын

    Well, since each of us have our own purposes, that "God" has a purpose for us is kind of irrelevant to anyone who doesn't believe in that. Also, he made it for himself or for use to see his glory? Either way, it seems kind of egotistical, but that's always how It's described in the Bible, so I don't blame you for that statement. If you really want to meditate on something, then meditate on the relevance of a higher deity, who is not allowed by it's own rules (free will) to interfere with us or our decisions and who, ultimately, decides our fate outside of our existence. No relevance whatsoever. Besides my time of existence, the future and wellbeing of those around me (because empathy is the key to being a good person, something that does come in all religions, as well as an atheist rule of thump) and well, basically everything that's around us, it doesn't matter what's outside of existence, at least to me, not really. Rather, we only matter to ourselves. (Getting existencial here)

    They bible actually doesn't talk about interstellar beings soooo there could possibly be other races out there. I'm a Christian and I really and truly believe that there are other races out there somewhere. There's this vast chunk - for lack of a better word- of space out there just waiting to be explore. I just wish that someday human beings will travel outside of our galaxy onto other planets; whether I'm dead or not.

    Want to hear something even more terrifying? Think about how many billions of people are on this earth. How many individual childhoods, insecurities, lovers, breakups, beliefs and thoughts are being reflected upon at this very second. Think about your favorite book or show, your favorite character. Now think about one of your neighbors. Chance is you know more about that character than the person living right beside you, the person breathing and sleeping and eating across the street from you. Think about how complex your life is, how many thoughts and feelings you have, how much sorrow and love you've felt at every juncture of your life. Think about how that is a lot to remember, and how many moments have slipped through your memory, even from last year. Now realize every person you walked past today has those same experiences, and you'll never get the chance to know them all. Now think about how this is only 2015. Think about 1720, or 1630, or any year that pops up. Think about how many individual lives, with thoughts and feelings and stories to tell, existed in that single year. And, every year since the beginning of humans, has had that story you'll never hear. How much of life are you missing at this very second? Someone is crying right now. Someone is being killed, someone is having a moment they will remember for the rest of their life. And right now, someone is rejoicing, someone is victorious and someone is laughing and someone is suffering. And I'm here, typing this message in the 21st century in my small piece of this intricate mess of life that we all share together. I will never know your story. You'll never know mine. Yet you and I are closer than we believe, living in the same world, at the same time, breathing oxygen and listening to the same songs. But we don't know each other's names.

    We're so tiny, we could be insignificant in the grand scheme of things. It's so weird how we are literally living in our own little worlds, with our own little problems that we think are so important-- but none of it matters in the big picture. Everyday we discover new things and the fact that we could maybe go further exploring one day? I find it so mind blowing; maybe one day we'll find a bigger purpose.

    +Nina De Luca Oh, I suspect there's probably life out there somewhere, the problem is that we've looked at many stars & found only a few planets that MAY have PRIMITIVE forms of life. Most stars actually don't even have planets, that was a small inaccuracy in the video. There is also the issue of time. The universe is roughly 14 billion years old. Millions of civilizations could have arisen, flourished, & then died in that time. Even if there have been billions of intelligent species, there's no guarantee that any of them exist at the same time. If they do, either they don't want to/are incapable of talking to us, or they're so far away that our signals haven't reached them yet. We're talking distances it takes light decades to travel.

    Holy shit, I just realised. When Religious people say "Its all to perfect, we are the perfect distances away etc to live, perfect atmosphere, its all to perfect to be a coincidence" that actually its complete bullshit. The reason it seems so bloody perfect is that we evolved over billions of years to survive on this planet. So yes, we are alive and it seems perfect, but thats because we evolved to survive and thus it seems a perfect crafted world for us, when actually over billions of years of breeding and evolving we learned and evolved to survive, its not perfect at all. All planets will have some life, but it may never surivive, but out there there are planets that are suriving. I mean, if we had all evolved to surivive on an ice covered earth and we all ate ice, drank ice and lived in ice huts, does that mean "God created this perfect ice world where we can live and thats all we need". NO, it means that you would have evolved to live with the cold. Doesn't mean god created these cold loving humans, same way if the earth was much hotter and we survived, doesn't mean he created humans that love heat. We are just organisms that SURVIVE.

    Louise-Anne Veilleux If it was to hot and we couldn't evolve to survive the temperatures then we would dead and not having this conversation. We might have survived a different planet and be talking about something else that was a "coidence". The reality is we evolved to survive this planet. Just like others have evolved to live on others. Like I say, we could have evolved to live near pluto and we could be saying "its so lucky we are kept this cold, god made us X amount of distance from the cool air". But the reality is we evolved and have evolved to survive. Not go "lucky" or been created by "God"

    +YourFather143 No doubt about "life", but intelligent life is what we really would be looking for... life that is evolved passed something like a bacteria. It is an unanswerable question, because if the universe is infinitely big and forever expanding, and has been around for like 13+ Billion years, then one would assume that there is some intelligent alien life that is older, more evolved and more advanced then us on Earth and would have made contact to us by now. But obviously, that hasn't happened. And that is where the theories that we are actually in a simulation come in. haha interesting stuff :P

    That picture was taken by Neal Armstrong... or was it Buzz Aldrin... eh whatever. They were both on the moon when that picture was taken. Edit: Ok people, I've been corrected like nine damn times by nine different people. You don't have to correct me again.
