It took 3.5 hours to obtain the ingredient of a refrigerated coke, then they made a slushie in seconds out of it Just like how the fruit in your smoothie that took a few mins to make actually took weeks to grow.

Jane Kimmy when u freeze something it usually turns to ice or just really cold liquid, its honestly hard to keep something at a frozen state in a semi-liquid form. Thats probably why wherever you get a slushy there's always a machine turning the liquid so it doesn't get completely frozen. The "in seconds" part was probably a reference to the lack of work on your end to get the same consistency of a slushy rather then the freezing part

Buzzfeed is in California. Man, everyone must be hating them for doing the orange + water trick.

I was working at a concession stand last year and I bought myself a Dr Pepper. A rush of customers came, so I sat it in the freezer while I was grabbing someone a popsicle. HOURS later, someone asks whose Dr Pepper was in there-- Mine! I opened it (It was already half-gone) and it became a perfect slushie! Rather startling, but a nice surprise.

the orange drop is pretty easy to understand, the skin on the orange forms a sort of barrier from the water getting into the air pockets in the fruit while the peeled orange allows water to fill those air pockets causing it to be heavier
