The TOXIC PRODUCTS & HABITS That Are Making You SICK & UNHEALTHY | Darin Olien & Dr. Gundry

Ойын-сауық

It's a startling reality that many products in our daily routines might be more trouble than they're worth.
From the lotions we apply to the carpets we walk on, numerous everyday conveniences expose us to sneaky, but seriously nasty toxins.
And the impact on our health and the environment is significant and certainly worth our attention.
On my latest episode, my guest and I uncover these hidden dangers, helping you make simple yet powerful changes that can boost your well-being and show our planet some love.
I welcomed Darin Olien - the Emmy™ Award-winning co-host of the hit Netflix docu-series, Down to Earth with Zac Efron, and the author of Fatal Conveniences: The Toxic Products and Harmful Habits That Are Making You Sick―and the Simple Changes That Will Save Your Health.
We explored the concept of "Fatal Conveniences" and how making positive changes to everyday items and habits can significantly improve your health and the environment.
We also discuss the importance of understanding our "cumulative body burden" and how Darin's personal story inspired his journey toward a cleaner, greener, and healthier world.
On this episode you’ll learn:
00:00 Why your everyday habits and products could be FATAL conveniences
08:03 How to unveil the troublesome ingredients in your fragrances (and why scents are disrupting your health)
15:06 The scary truth about food CONTAINERS (and the safest options)
19:23 How you can transform your daily routine to minimize exposure to hidden toxins
22:22 Why skincare products may actually be damaging your skin (and the safer alternatives to use)
26:12 Why sunscreen might be doing more harm than good (and what to do instead)
32:29 The real culprit behind why only 2% of Americans are deemed “healthy”
44:48 Why THIS “healthy” food exceeds the “safe contaminant level” by 400x

Great interview Dr. G.! So eye opening. This has got me from shaking my head in disbelief to actually being mad as hell. We work so hard to take care of ourselves, eat clean, exercise, etc. and yet we are bombarded with toxins in almost everything. I even see it in the products and feed that I given to my horses. It’s freakin maddening. I’m fighting back. Enough is enough.

Just as my father always said as he grew his own food. You can't always trust on what others put on the food you are buying or what they use as it grows. The only thing you can trust is yourself and what you do to grow your own food. That is why when I retire I am planning to go where I can plant my own crops and raise and care for my own chickens. That way I can live off the land by the sweat off my brow. We need to not be afraid of hard work to make a healthier life a possibility.

Great to see this. I've been telling my husband and daughter about these facts since I learned about them in 2011. NOW, I think he is really listening. Daughter just thinks it's all too depressing, which it is... Thanks for getting the information out there. Great channel. Looks like a great book too.

Oddly enough I must have a very 'old' body, my skin and body reacted negatively to any 'modern' beauty products. I stuck to the most 'natural' things I could use. I moisturise internally with Olive oil and add the 'oddest' things to my salads and I have been around for a lot longer than quite a few of my contemporaries

So ewg doesn't like plastic water bottles. But what about plastic pipes in our homes, the plastic tube lines to our fridge and the plastic that the water filters are enclosed in. I buy my water from Italy lol, i only drink aqua pana/san pellegrino and i hope they don't use plastic or lead to get water into the bottles.

Not all plastics are equally harmful. I would think brief contact with hard plastics is a world away from food stored in flexible plastic bags for weeks.

  • @donaldnelson5647

@@trainluvr while that's true most of them have not been tested for safety and the products that replaced bpa are complete unknowns. Even the green san Pellegrino bottles contain trace lead. So now what, can't use glass, can't use plastic, can't use most metal (most brands contain lead and cadmium). Why do we not have a safe product to drink out of? You would think we would have figured that out by now. Especially after lead sent us into the dark ages. The issue with plastic is really the issue with most consumer products, there's 0 safety regulation in place. Companies should have to follow strict guidelines on what they're allowed to put in products. Especially ones that we breathe, touch our skin, or eat/drink with. One day...
